    Supercharger - Blacksburg, VA

Just to alert you , the SC at Abingdon, Va, is not easy to get into just with a car. I think pulling a trailer behind the Holiday Inn will be a bit of a nightmare.

    Supercharger - Blacksburg, VA

Only one other future Supercharger site near Blacksburg has been identified by the Supercharge(dot)info sleuths. A Supercharger station at Daleville, Va, a little north of Roanoke, has been in the planning/permitting stage for almost three years. I suspect this site may never be built, but the...

    Supercharger - Marmet, WV

I checked last week. Looks like Tesla is waiting on a transformer. I'm going out there tonight. I'll report if there have been any changes in the past week.

    Supercharger - Marmet, WV

I think I owe someone an apology for bad photography. I believe this station will only have 8 stalls, not 12. I also believe I'm the source of the misunderstanding. The earlier photos I took of the Marmet Supercharger under construction were not very good. I just stuck my camera around the...

    Charging cable overheats

I think the Hubbell specifies the required torque on the side of the socket. I bought a torque screwdriver to make sure the connections were correctly tightened. It took a big effort to tighten enough to reach the "click" set point on the screwdriver. The extra cost of a Hubbell socket falls...

    Supercharger - Marmet, WV

The V2 in Charleston still sees some traffic. No longer full with cars waiting to charge, but not empty during the day either. Marmet may cut the Charleston traffic a bit. Also, Marmet is a good point to charge up for a trip into the eastern West Virginia mountains via US Rt. 60.

    Supercharger - Marmet, WV

I was trying to figure out just why there was an empty lot on the river available for constructing a Supercharager station and a truck stop. I went used Google maps "View over time", looking back at the land use over the last 50 years, and it appears that area was used to tie up coal barges...

    Supercharger - Marmet, WV

The existing gas station is 10410 MacCorkle Ave, but the empty lot that the supercharger is being built on may have a slightly different address. A truck stop is being built on the same lot.

    Supercharger - Marmet, WV

Located at the Exxon/Little General store across the street from Krogers on MacCorkle Avenue in Marmet. About a quarter mile from the WV Turnpike/I-64/I-77 Marmet exit. The address is about 10410 MacCorkle Ave, Marmet, WV.

    Supercharger - Marmet, WV

A new Supercharger under construction was spotted this week in Marmet, West Virginia, about 15 miles southeast of Charleston on the West Virginia Turnpike (I-77/I-64). The news was first posted by Raymond Wyrick on the West Virginia Electric Auto Association FB page. Located at the...

West Virginia Superchargers (location speculation, discussion)

I'm not sure charging desert is an accurate description of the West Virginia northern highlands any longer. I think you will find destination charger connections in Pocahontas County at Marlinton and at the Greenbank Radio Observatory, the Cass RR State Park and at the Snowshoe ski resort, at...

    Charging cable overheats

I've read that Tesla uses changes in feed-in resistance as a proxy for wiring overheating, as resistance increases in wiring with increased temperature. So if the wiring resistance climbs 10 minutes after plugging in, that indicates a temperature rise due to current flow and inadequate...

    Supercharger - Gilbert, AZ - N Higley Rd (permit applied 11/29/23, 16 V3)

Does this mean Marco is in the game, or is this from old work before he announced his departure?

I've also stopped by a couple times this past week. All the stalls connected to the #1 cabinet (1A, 1B, 1C, & 1D) are down.

    Supercharger - Ripley, WV

All ready to go, not energized. Covers still on rectifiers. Back in August a manager at Sheetz told me "8 weeks" That was about 6 weeks ago. So I'd check back before your trip. If you get desperate for a charge, there are a couple of blink destination chargers about 100 yards away at about...

    Supercharger - Ripley, WV

Here are a couple more photos from Ripley. I see some green transformer like boxes on ground mounts, and a 3 phase set of transformers on a pole in the background. Not quite sure what else needs to be done to complete this site, other than AEP and Tesla closeouts. Let's hope it comes on soon...

    Supercharger - Ripley, WV

Sorry, I didn't see the point of asking the same question again. to the same folks. I also got the feeling the staff inside has been trained with a set reply. Last month I was told "8 weeks". If I went back and asked again today I think the answer would be "5 weeks". Let's hope the wait is...

Man fatally shot during altercation at Tesla charging station

Any more news about the murder at this Supercharger? I saw a note that the local police now don't think this dispute was over a charging stall.

    Supercharger - Lewisburg, WV

Lewisburg is open. Both Supercharge.info and Tesla.com/charging showing open. Probably opened today. This brings the total number of Supercharger stations in West Virginia to 14. With two more in planning.

West Virginia Superchargers (location speculation, discussion)

I don't think Tesla upgrades very many V2 to V3. Sometimes they add V3s to an original V2 location, like Waco, Texas or Green River, Utah. The new V3 Supercharger at Princeton, WV should address the need for charging at the Travel Plazas. And the coming V3 at Marmet, WV will be another boost...

    Supercharger - Lewisburg, WV

This new supercharger is located on US 219 just south of the Lewisburg, WV Exit of I-64. I don't have an exact location, but it is close to 37 degrees, 48' 39" N and 80 degrees, 25', 54" West. It looks like 8 V3 plugs/stalls. No Magic Docks can be seen. Also no stall for towing...

    Supercharger - Weston, WV

Isn't really a desert, is it? Just a rural area with a limited population. The Sutton supercharger is located at the Flatwoods exit (yeah, go figure) 32 miles south of the Weston Supercharger location, and the Fairmont Supercharger is located 38 miles north of Weston. The gap is only 69...

    Supercharger - Sutton, WV

I should have looked at a map. Flatwoods is north of Sutton. I had it stuck in my head the order of towns going north on the old road (which I used to bicycle decades ago) as Gassaway, Flatwoods, Sutton and Heaters. But it isn't. Its's Gassaway, Sutton, Flatwoods and Heaters. Arrgh!

No, sorry, the Little General is on the opposite (west) side of I-79, almost directly across the street and a little uphill from the Pilot shown on this map.
  31. W

    Supercharger - Sutton, WV

Thanks for the photos! I recommend the name be changed to Flatwoods. This Supercharger location is about 1/4 mile from the Flatwoods exit of I-79, and is 6 miles from the Sutton Exit of I-79. The name Sutton will be confusing, as this supercharger will not be at the Sutton Exit, but at the...

    Supercharger - Sutton, WV

I just found out the new Supercharger shown as "Sutton" on the Tesla charging page is under construction at the Little General convenience store at the Flatwoods exit, a few miles south of Sutton. I'll try to post a new forum discussion on that site later today (if someone doesn't beat me to...

This sign is posted at the Weston Supercharger. The clerk inside the store said the Supercharger will be closing as well as the store. I wonder if there is any way to confirm this closing with Tesla.

Why is Tesla Wall Connector not on Energy Star list?

OP to this thread here. I want to thank everyone for their comments. On another forum, someone replied who had disassembled a Tesla Wall Connector, and they reported all the wiring was sized correctly, so the idea that the Connector would not comply with the Energy Star standards is unlikely...

Why is Tesla Wall Connector not on Energy Star list?

My local power company (AEP) is offering a rebate on Energy Star rated EVSE connectors. But Tesla has no Energy Star rated connectors, so I would have to buy a non-Tesla EVSE and use the $50 J1772 adapter, which kinda defeats the purpose of a rebate. Anyone have any idea why the Tesla Wall...

According to rumor, there was a Tesla owner in about 2013-2014 who plugged into an EVSE at the Cole Nissan dealership in Bluefield who ticked off Bill Cole enough that he got together with the West Virginia car dealers group to ban Tesla from West Virginia. I don't know if the Tesla owner...

    Supercharger - Mt. Hope, WV

The best spot for lunch, IMO, would be Tamarack, one exit south of the Mt. Hope Supercharger. Closed on Tuesdays and Christmas day. Pandemic hours are 10 AM to 6 PM. As for pepperoni rolls, Padrinos Italian Restaurant is good, and about 4 miles from the Supercharger. Just about any Ginos...

    Supercharger - Greensboro, NC

Does anyone have any first hand knowledge of the status of this Supercharger? I have a family emergency in that area and have to decide if I should take the old gas guzzler or our Model 3. I'm pretty sure we will need to use this station, as destination charging opportunities seem surprisingly...

    Supercharger - Beaver, UT

I charged at Beaver, Utah this summer. Both the V2 and V3 stalls are in the same convienence store parking lot (it is a big parking lot), for a total of 32 stalls. As many supercharging stations in Utah are 6 stalls, this location is a little surprising. I guess it is well situated for travel...
