Tyre Repair Shop - Internal Repair

Can anyone recommend a good tyre repair shop in Hong Kong? Not just the typical tubeless plug repair, but a shop that does proper repair from the inside of the tyre with an internal patch.

    Simple Scratch Repair Advice

Use some Brasso metal polish and a microfibre or other cloth. Buff it by hand with a bit of force in a circular motion with the force of 2 fingers with a good amount of Brasso on the cloth until all the "other paint" is gone. Buff it off with a clean part of the cloth. All of the other colour...

Front Trunk unable to open - Model X Safety concern

The joys of the month-long wait list of Tesla Hong Kong's service centre. No water damage. The latch did not want to release, so I could always close it, just not open it beyond the latch.

Front Trunk unable to open - Model X Safety concern

Tesla has fixed the problem. They had to replace the entire locking and latching mechanism.

Front Trunk unable to open - Model X Safety concern

Thanks Mark, yea I reckon I will need to do that. Waiting a month for this to be looked at is not really acceptable as it is a safety concern. If I end up in an accident and emergency first responders need to cut the main power wires inside the frunk....but that's also assuming emergency...

Front Trunk unable to open - Model X Safety concern

My model X Frunk is unable to open. The car is only 6 months old. It pops up, but stays latched. It is NOT in valet mode and I have even tried the emergency open rapid response toggles but also only pops open and stays latched. There is no way I can get the frunk to open up, other than popping...

Front Trunk unable to open - Serious Issue in case of emergency

Yea, I've tried the emergency latch release at the same time as someone pulling on the hood but it simply won't unlatch at all.. It seems that the emergency release is only an electric backup that does the same as from the inside of the car or the key fob...it does not release the mechanical...

Warning - Model X Locking itself with key inside

Yes, after talking to some guys about the issue that seems to be what the problem is. So the consensus is to keep your phone and key fob apart, both in the car and in your pockets. Since doing that, I have not had it happen again.

Warning - Model X Locking itself with key inside

That might me a good idea. Looks like the seat sensor does not work as advertised. As far as I understand, if nobody is sitting on the seat and the keys are in the car, it should remain unlocked.

Warning - Model X Locking itself with key inside

Just a heads-up for everyone, possibly a software update bug. My model X just recently locked me out of the car. I stopped in line to wait for a supercharger and stepped out of the car briefly to throw something in a rubbish bin. My keys and phone were in the car and it locked itself as I...

So glad RHD model 3 won't be until 2019

Probably not much chance of the FRT being waved again. We also shouldn't be too surprised if they eventually take the $97.5K incentive away too....especially close to Model 3 order or delivery time. The Lobbyists are really trying their best to kill Tesla in Hong Kong...and the Government...

Autopilot and parking now available in HK for AP2

I just had a chat with out friendly neighborhood Tesla service centre while passing by, and the news is formally that AP2 has been approved by the Transport Department. Only highway with divider use unfortunately, but still... it is something. All model S cars will first receive the update...

Maybe we should then start calling them Solar Floor Tiles in Hong Kong. :)

    Solar roof tiles

Unfortunately our backwards system in Hong Kong considers any such structure on your rooftop an illegal structure. That is a big hurdle to overcome in Hong Kong.

    Cabin Overheat to 67.6C

I absolutely agree, it is a brilliant Safety feature as a Backup plan, and we can be assured that this is what Tesla designed it for. If you re-read my post, what I am referring to is people most definitely can Not solely RELY on the feature. It is meant to be a safety backup. Anyone who plan...

    Wireless Charging in Hong Kong

Unfortunately, it is extremely rare to have a parking spot (especially on private land) right next to your house in Hong Kong. Some are very lucky, but it is rare. Normally, even if you park on a piece of private land designated as a parking spot, then there is probably some form of government...

    Cabin Overheat to 67.6C

Most other cars have no form of cabin overheat protection. Having a car like the Tesla gives the advantage of a feature that can be used to keep the temperature down in the cabin to protect the interior. Anyone who actually relies on this feature to protect children or pets in the car must have...

    Wireless Charging in Hong Kong

The unit below the car can be buried (shallow) and the cable to it can be as long as required (within reason). For anyone living in a village house, normally installing a charger at your parking spot or even just charging there will get you into trouble with the lands department. This is an...

    Cabin Overheat 154F

Thanks for the info SMAlset, yea you have valid points. Maybe if they can even add a feature to have cabin overheat as "always on" it would be great. Personally, I don't mind giving up some battery power to always have the feature active. If anything, the car's interior would greatly benefit...

    Cabin Overheat to 67.6C

Has anyone seen their MX cabin temp go this high? Mine has been parked outside for a couple days, not driven and I had a quick look at the internal temperature as it is a sunny day. My car is always connected with power saving switched off, and my cabin overheat protection is on. To my...

    Charger Space Usage Monthly Fee

The price of electricity in Hong Kong works out to around HK$1 per kW. Average would be between HK$0.2 - HK$0.3 per km. With an average ICE car, with the price of gasoline in Hong Kong you end up paying about HK$1.5 per km.

    GPS Timing ETA Wrong

I figured out why this is happening. There are quite a few backroads in Hong Kong that I use and the speed limit according to the Tesla map is completely wrong. It obviously uses these extremely slow speed limits in the map to calculate arrival time....some roads are listed as 15km/h where the...

    Wireless Charging in Hong Kong

Does anyone have a wireless charger system installed yet? I am sure we have to have a few by now. I see in the US pluglesspower dot com has a 7.2kw Tesla one for US$3000, any takers yet? It will sure solve a lot of issues here in Hong Kong to have an "out of sight, out of mind" charger hidden...

Emergency braking and Side Collision never to be approved in Hong Kong

This is about waaaayy more than just the calendar guys, it is about crippling the car in general. The calendar is only the tip of the iceberg. The list is as long as your arm....calendar, web browser & third party apps, summon feature, autopilot features etc. etc. The list goes on and on.

Emergency braking and Side Collision never to be approved in Hong Kong

It seems that Tesla Hong Kong is under pretty weak management, kind of like the Hong Kong government. Nobody seems to want to make any real difference or improvements. Tesla Hong Kong is most certainly not Elon Musk's vision of making the future a better place for all. You would think that...

Emergency braking and Side Collision never to be approved in Hong Kong

We lost a Model X today...

Yep, glad they got lucky in this event and there were no serious injuries. Let us hope the Transport Department stops dragging their feet and wake up before someone loses their life.
