Yes, I have a big tree out in front (shading from the south 😢), but that shouldn't affect the east facing group at all, and would only affect SOME of the west and south facing panels. I'm hanging my hat on the sentiment here that the Tesla projections are usually low 🤞.
Thanks. I'll make sure this is how they set it up (site survey is next week). And in fact, since there should be 4 MPPTs available, I'll ask for the two west facing to be on different ones, since there's a large tree in the front yard that will shade the group of 6 at certain times of the day...
Here's my proposed layout (north is up). Tesla says the estimated year 1 production is 9110 kWh I'm concerned with having panels facing in three different directions. I assume I'll get the Tesla inverter - does "four maximum power point trackers" mean that it can handle this well? Is 9110...
Has anyone had any luck getting this done preemptively under warranty? I'm currently trying. I requested the service and they asked for a date when the MCU was having trouble so they could review the logs. I gave them that and they changed from a mobile visit to a SC visit with an estimate...
I had a similar (albeit, temporary) experience. I had an MCU2 Model S loaner for a period of about 2 1/2 weeks and never had the issue. Issue came back when I got my MCU1 model S back.
Picked up the car this morning (4 weeks later). The problem was a "loose connection between the HV rapid splitter and the HV cables" Both were replaced seems to have solved the issue.
They had to get "Tesla engineers" involved in the troubleshooting, and it took 4 weeks, so I guess this is a...
My car is still at the SC :-( Will be three weeks tomorrow.
Latest area of interest is "the high voltage system cables between the drive unit and the master charger"
Two questions for anyone who cares to answer:
1) any insight on the above area of interest? Could they be looking for a...
Interesting. One difference I see with my situation, is that mine was not related to speed - it's a hard power restriction, regardless of speed. AND, of course it ended up shutting down the car completely :(. I'll be sure to update the thread here with the resolution.
I'm scared to death...
Today makes 2 weeks that my car has been in the SC with this issue. Fortunately I got a loaner Model S last week.
"Still undergoing diagnostic testing" is what I get from my service adviser. Anyone else ever have a problem take this long to diagnose?
Didn't see any threads discussing kind of thing, so here we go....
I charged my car (May 2017 Model S 75D, AP2, MCU1) at the ChargePoint station at work last Tuesday. When I went to move the car after the charge was done (~90%), I noticed a yellow dashed line on the power meter on the energy...
Cup and Saucer is a basic diner. Haven't been there is a while, but was fine and as expected last time i was there.
Mandarin House is basic American Chinese food - it's our default take out place these days.
There's also a Mexican place - Senor Taco - right next to Mandarin House, which is...
Yes, I’d rather see these on the other side of HWY9, but it’ll be nice having an (almost) guaranteed parking spot available, even it it requires a bit of a hike to get to where we’re going. The few ChargePoint spots sprinkled around town don’t quite cut it.
No details as to timeline, etc, but looks like a 12 station Supercharger is coming to downtown Los Gatos:
Los Gatos: It's crab cracking season, new charging stations
Not an official Tesla display, but a charging system vendor. He has an S, an X, and a 3 (that he just picked up last week) on display and available to sit it and poke around a bit.
This is at the Silicon Valley Auto Show at the San Jose Comvention Center. Runs through Sunday.

Just noticed this on my May 2017 Model S last week. It's quite subtle and I'm not sure when it popped up or if it's always been there. Does anyone see it getting worse over time?
I was in a SC on Wednesday to get a tire fixed and got an upgrade notice. Turned out it was 17.17.17 Doesn't appear any different that 17.17.4, but I haven't tried it out on the freeway yet to see if it handles curves more smoothly.
Wow, it appears to be true. Just checked mytesla and it now says I have "free unlimited supercharging". Previously it said I had a 400kwh credit.
I took delivery on my S60D on May 3rd.
Just got an email today my 60D is complete, then a little bit after that MyTesla was updated with the same info. Since it appears ours were on the line at about the same time, I'll guess your's is/will be complete soon.
My 60D (Sunroof, EAP, PUP, 19", Midnight Silver) also went into production on Monday. I got an (automated) email Tuesday saying it was in production. I got an email from my DS yesterday saying it was in the "final stages" of production and we need to talk about scheduling delivery. MyTesla...
This is EXACTLY my situation. Very close to pulling the trigger on an S 60D now. This battery thing, along with the recent hints on the 3 being more "feature-poor" than I expected (yes, my fault for assuming certain things). And dual motor maybe not available until after the tax credit goes...
