    Wiki Model S Delivery Update

To pass along a little intel, yesterday i called a Tesla Store and spoke a very knowledgable (and very busy) sales person who told me they, in a suburb of a large city, are getting 6-7 new Model S cars a week and these include Model S LR with standard 19’ wheels. Al LR ModelS cars are going to...

    Wiki Model S Delivery Update

If you look at Gabeincal’s YouTube flyover video for June 30, right at 8:26 he is flying over the “Tesla Fremont Temp Lot” and there were exactly 452 cars in that lot which may be all the undelivered Model S cars. Link is:

    Wiki Model S Delivery Update

Based on Gabeincal’s recent flyovers of the holding lots for refresh Model S cars, out of each 100 cars there might be 1 red car and 1 white car and all the rest are black, blue or silver. Wonder if that is based on forecast demand.

Elon Musk: Tesla Model S Plaid To Have Structural Battery, 4680 Cells

Get your deposit in! :). Has there been any word of the number of deposits / orders to date for the Plaid? Maybe this will be announced at the time of the Q-3 earnings report.

Speed Limit Sign Recognition - 2020.36

Today my S recognized one such speed zone sign with lettering over the speed limit but ignored others - didn’t pay enough attention to see if it was a school zone they recognized. Looks like Tesla is already on its second dot release of 2020.36 per Teslafi - likely they will improve this over...

HELP! MCU1 died. Anyone know how I push to get MCU2?

According to below links, for HW2 owners, Tesla is scheduling MCU1 to MCU2 (pay for) upgrades NOW and will be scheduling HW2 to HW3 upgrades in late May. Today is May 15, so they should also be scheduling HW2-3 upgrades in a week or two. Also was told couple of weeks ago we would get an email...

Tesla infotainment system upgradeable from MCU1 to MCU2

Just wondering, which service center in the Chicago area? I asked Highland Park about this a few weeks ago and they said they could not get parts to do it. But then the very nice person who appeared to be in charge told me his hours were being cut from 40 to 32 hours a week. It would be nice...

2019 Firmware Updates for AP 2.0?

@S-Car.Go: I have S90D - HW2 - car manufactured December 2016. Paid for FSD at time of purchase. Received notice Dec. 24 on Tesla iPhone app > Settings > Notices - which says: “Over the next several weeks Version 10.2 will be sent to your car. Enjoy enhancements to features like voice commands...

FSD on city streets coming later this year with reliability far in excess of human drivers!

I love my D90S and the EAP is a huge benefit for me personally. But I have a hard time seeing a future in which you would not need a driver watching the road ahead. But i wonder if iOT technology could enable “almost-self-driving” - a future time where we constantly watch the road but can keep...

    Highland Park IL Supercharger CLOSED

As part of maintenance they try to send you off with a full charge. I really appreciate that having to drive down from Green Bay. Was there on Thursday for a 12,500 mile maintenance check-up.

For me the big benefit of autopilot is that it makes driving so much less fatiguing

So true. Even more so on curves. i put the software clock up on the left side of the dashboard and glance at the second hand and put my hands on the wheel every 45 second to avoid getting the flashing blue lights. Have to admit i almost hit a raccoon on an Interstate a week ago. Note to self...

3 tips to significantly increase range in winter and message for Tesla

Regarding the App, a little work on it would go a long ways. We are told Range Mode must be turned off to preheat the battery when you are preheating the cabin. There should be at least a separate option to preheat the battery that, if selected, automatically turns off Range Mode. When you...

New software Wifi vs LTE which one receives update first?

Point well taken. 17.17.4 is working same for me as for others with the learning curve type limitations in heavier traffic and non-freeway driving. Willing to wait.

New software Wifi vs LTE which one receives update first?

Kind of related, am on software version 17.17.4 and wondering why I haven’t been upgraded to version 17.24.28 or somewhere close to latest release. I thought it might be due to having a weak Wi-F- signal in garage and a so-so LTE signal but I just set up a Wi-Fi range extender - AirPort Extreme...

    Supercharger - Green Bay, WI

A mea culpa on my post - the best way to return to I-41 from the Meijer Store is to exit the parking lot to Badgerland Dr which parallels the back of the store and turn left and proceed to Taylor Drive which is only 100 yards or so. Then left again to the traffic circle and exit west to I-41...

If you fast charge, Tesla will permanently throttle charging

Just thinking of downside risk, what about the battery swapping program of the past. Tesla apparently knows how to rapidly replace the whole pack if they have a warranty problem with the batteries themselves.

    Supercharger - Green Bay, WI

I stopped by the Meijer store today, about 7:30 this evening. Contrary to my first impression It does not look like a good place for an SC and now I wonder if it too late for Tesla to find a better location. There are 12 parking paces in the area to the left of the entrance to Meijer Store...

    Wisconsin Supercharger Discussion & Tracking

From their list it appears there will be a new SC in Madison, not just an increase in the number of stalls at the present Madison East Towne Mall SC although hopefully that is coming soon. Apparent evidence of the new SC in Green Bay. By Meijer Superstore at junction of I-41 and WI-26. Madison & Pleasant Prairie Supercharger Availability

Thank you for the helpful info - will plan to get there before noon. Although no SC's at all in Milwaukee - closest is 20 miles south in Pleasant Prairie. Supposedly...

glhs, that was a Friday. What time were you there and how long did you have to wait? Where were you in the queue? I plan to use that SC in 10 days on way from GB to Madison. Wonder if I should drive ice car. Just need 20 minutes of charge per EV trip planner. I could use it around noon or...

Tech Primer: Why 12-Volt Batteries in Electric Cars Get Sick -- And How To Keep Yours Healthy

Really interesting discussion. Just wondererimg how Tesla feels about an owner installing either of these in place of the 12v battery that comes with the car. I.e does either in any way affect the operation of the car or of course affect Tesla's warranty.

    Insurance On Model S?

Same age and paying $1,000 a year for excellent coverage (with Acuity) in Wisconsin. I am buying S 90D but listed on policy as "S 75D -Model S 9". Called insurance agent - they insist as long as VIN # is correct i am OK. Also have $1MM umbrella policy which is under $500 a year.
