    frunk badly stuck

Interesting, sounds like root cause for your issue was related to the wiring. Wonder how it was damaged? Unlike the trunk harness, there is no movement in that area that I could tell when I was working in there. Looks like they: - manually opened the frunk - found the open circuit - fixed the...

    frunk badly stuck

I see I didn't post the resolution to my issue: I ended up bringing the car to the nearest sizeable city end of Jan where they have a mobile technician who essentially lives there (Kelowna). He spent a few hours working on the car to get the front hood open (it wouldn't open at all, not even a...

    Supercharger - Nakusp, BC

Stopped in, took a look around (didn't see anything), so chatted with the guy on the till. He noted that it had been in the works for a few years, but a few months ago got the blueprints of where it will go, so he thinks it will be built this summer. Apparently they are going to pave the back...

I'm passing through there on Sunday - I'll try to remember to take a look!

    frunk badly stuck

Yes I slid a putty knife in the seam and tried to pry down the rubber, and sprayed it liberally with silicone lubricant - no dice.

    frunk badly stuck

Ah that's an interesting idea! I wonder how hot I can get it without ruining the paint? It also has a seal to get through... but still, just warming the whole area up might be helpful. Thanks.

    frunk badly stuck

There is one in Kelowna (4-5hrs in winter) - I'll give them a call when setting up an appointment. Thanks. :)

    frunk badly stuck

Just to close the loop here (for now), I attempted to reach in with a nail pry bar (the same one I used to pop the frunk a few years ago when the secondary latch stuck) from the wheel well side along a similar route as I used to pull the primary actuator cable, but I don't think it was long...

    frunk badly stuck

Thanks for the suggestion - I took a look and unfortunately won't be able to do what they have done - just no way to reach up there from what I've been able to disassemble. I've put the wheel liner back in and the wheel on now.

    frunk badly stuck

It's in my signature - a 2018, and it is out of regular warranty due to exceeding kilometres (and now age too I think).

    frunk badly stuck

Hmm one more thought - in the Tesla service manual, they reference "use the manual frunk opening tool if you can't open it", and say "Refer to the 1130534-00-A Tool Profile for details", but I searched around on the service site and couldn't find anything more about it. eBay has a listing for...

    frunk badly stuck

Well I pulled the passenger wheel off, the wheel liner, and retracted the secondary actuator - still no action. Tried pry bar again (with both actuator cables retracted), nothing (so it can't be just the spring). Seems like it must be something mechanical with the latch mechanisms themselves...

    frunk badly stuck

I've gone through all the threads and Reddit posts I can find on the frunk being stuck and haven't been able to get mine freed yet (2018 Model 3, RWD). Situation is this: - I have previously had the issue where the frunk pops up a bit, but the secondary actuator wouldn't release; solved by using...

    Supercharger - Nakusp, BC

Oh that's an interesting thought... the Esso on the north-west side of town had a bunch of layout paint on the NW end of the parking lot last fall!

Model 3 Trunk Button Stopped Working

Couple of thoughts: My car was built in November 2018... well over a year into production This isn't build quality, it is a design issue. As noted in my post, I am irritated with their response to the issue. I understand nothing of this level of complexity will be perfect. The pattern of...

Model 3 Trunk Button Stopped Working

I had the wiring harness replaced last year as nothing would open my trunk (except the inside emergency release). After I saw the recall, I contacted the service department and was directed to fill out a form for consideration for reimbursement. They reviewed once and saw that the repair notes...

Model 3 Trunk Button Stopped Working

The first time I could t get in my trunk I had the exact same circumstance. The button in the trunk had corroded and they replaced it. This time for me nothing opened the trunk, which as others noted was solved by fixing or replacing the wiring harness.

Model 3 Trunk Button Stopped Working

I had a quick peek yesterday and didn't see anything obvious - did you somehow pull the outer cover on the wire harness back to check? (I did find these instructions on replacing the harness... Tesla MODEL 3 SERVICE MANUAL: HARNESS - TRUNK (REMOVE AND REPLACE))

    Supercharger - Creston, BC

Well that's lame, was looking forward to this charger. That parking lot is empty every time I go by there, so I don't know what the owner thinks the charging stalls was going to do! (Except maybe bring them some business with a captive audience!)

Model 3 Trunk Button Stopped Working

I am having this problem all of a sudden in my Nov 2018 build Model 3. I went from trunk functioning to only the emergency latch functioning. I already had the rear latch replaced once under warranty in Feb 2020 due to corrosion issues (my trunk seal was also leaking). The notes from that...

Supercharger - Kamloops, BC - Powwow Trail

This will be a fantastic addition. I more often pass through this part of Kamloops, and I really dislike the existing visitor centre Supercharger - too many bad experiences with the stalls being blocked by jerks waiting for the sani-dump station.

    Supercharger - Nakusp, BC

After my post yesterday I decided to contact the village through a "Contact Us" link on their website; I received a reply indicating that they thought Tesla ended up partnering with a private entity, but that they weren't sure of timelines.

    Supercharger - Castlegar, BC

Hmm didn't see anywhere else nearby that meets that description. I'll take another look next week when I pass through again.

    Supercharger - Nakusp, BC

I haven't been through there in quite a while. When next my travels take me there (likely this winter) I'll have a look around.

This set-up is going to be fantastic for us when we have our bikes on the car! Nothing right behind the vehicle. This is the way to do it Tesla... all the other ones with flush-mount signs SUCK!!

    [Speculation] Supercharger - Duncan, BC

I would love a SC in Duncan for lower Island visits. My brother is in Lake Cowichan, so I might be a bit biased... but it would also work great for those coming through from Port Renfrew via Cowichan etc.

    Supercharger - Revelstoke, BC

On the Fernie SC thread, @Quote Me mentioned that the installer in Invermere had said they would be installing a 2nd charger in Revelstoke next. Any Tesla owners/aficionados living in Revy who can snoop around town?

    Supercharger - Creston, BC

Ooo that looks potentially promising! Keep us posted if you are able to view the location occasionally.

Went by on Saturday and didn't spot anything unfortunately.

    Supercharger - Creston, BC

Cruised by today on my way home from Kimberley - no action noted in Creston unfortunately. Supposed to be online Q4 2021... they'll have to get cracking! (Seems likely now it will be pushed back a quarter or two... which is too bad as I head to the East Kootenays several times a year and might...

    Supercharger - Prince George, BC

Looking forward to having all of Highway 97 energized - will make my trip up in March for the BC nordic champs much easier!

    Supercharger - Fernie, BC

It’s unfortunate they keep making installations that are almost useless for anyone who wants to tow or put something on the rear of the vehicle. Surely they could come up with a better configuration.

Installing the official Tesla model 3 roof rack

I don't think there are any other options... maybe someone could come up with the clamp style, but that would look pretty ugly and those types always have the chance of ruining the paint.

    Western Canada Superchargers

Th The Hope charger was pretty busy when I visited several times in 2019. Merritt I've visited several times since it has opened and it wasn't as busy. The city that really needs a second one (or an expansion) is Revelstoke - I've been there probably a dozen times and 1/2 of the time it is...

    Supercharger - Creston, BC

Went by and there is no sign of construction. There is a Ricky’s right there, and a Timmie’s a few blocks away. Quite far from downtown, but should be a decent spot.

    Supercharger - Castlegar, BC

When I went by a week or two ago there was no sign of action. I'm going by that way again this week and will take a look.

    Supercharger - Osoyoos, BC

My range with roof box and bike rack isn't sufficient to skip many chargers - I still have to plan carefully with ABRP. I try not to go further than about 200km before planning on a charge, unless I am going to a set of chargers I know are totally reliable (e.g. Kelowna).
  48. KootsChewt

    Supercharger - Williams Lake, BC

Thanks for the photos. I'm slightly saddened to see the bollards completely in line with the SC stalls - makes it super awkward to have anything on the rear of the car and charge. Tesla doesn't seem to have a tight standard here - some SCs the bollards/signs are offset far enough back that I...

    Supercharger - Quesnel, BC

I'm always blown away by how long it takes to power-up the stations after Tesla has seemingly finished everything... some locations wait for transformers (or something) from the utility company for quite a long time. Would be interesting to be a fly on the wall and find out why they are almost...

    Supercharger - Osoyoos, BC

Ah, my misunderstanding. Re why the route I chose - for roughly the same amount of time, I could use my CHAdeMO adapter and drive Highway 3; however, the last time I went to the coast was in 2019 (the "before" days), and there was only 1 public DCFC in each town that I would have had to rely...
