2022 Model S loss of driving controls

Same here, except instead of “steering assist reduced”, I have “cruise control disabled”. MX 2017 with HW3/MCU2 upgrades. Tesla service scheduled for July 18, 2022. I plan to report what Tesla discovers. Lt2010359 is yours fixed? How? Thanks!

    2020.24.6.4 !

Suggestion: Allow +5 mph and when approaching a green light gently slow to the speed limit with the brake lights on. This should improve Autopilot’s reaction to amber lights.

    2020.12.11.5 firmware is released.

That’s so exciting! Your notes show traffic light and stop sign control for a 2017 MCU1 FSD S75!!!! Sadly, not so for that firmware (2020.12.11.5) on my 2017 MCU1 FSD X100. Can someone explain why?

    2020.4.1 incoming

Ping-ponging happens if I put too much torque on the steering-wheel. If I apply just enough torque to stop the nagging, the ping-ponging stops. As a test when it’s ping-ponging, stop applying torque altogether. The ping-ponging should stop immediately. Low tire pressure or non-factory tires...

    Tesla Update 2019.40.50.7

There have been no software releases for two weeks! Comments on this thread dried up a week ago. Surely some substantial FSD feature is imminent. You know, like stopping for stop signs. I can hardly wait. Just trying to find some likeminded sympathy. I don’t know why I am so excited. I’m...

    Software Update 2019.40.1.1

Excellent lane change improvement when on surface roads using AP. Me: ensure it is safe to change lanes then momentarily press the indicator stalk to tell the car I want to change lanes and whether to the left or right. Indicator stalk has returned to its neutral position. Car: immediately...

    Software Update 2018.46.x

Hey, where did everyone go? Since 2018.46 arrived, it looks like very few people are posting on tmc (teslmotorsclub.com)! Am I looking at the wrong threads or did most of the more chatty people on tmc get recruited into the early users program and have to stop posting on tmc because of the...

I only got 25K miles out of my Continental Extreme Contact tires...

35,000+ miles. My original Continental ContiSilent tires still have substantial legal tread life left at 35,000 miles. Mostly CHILL miles in a cool climate ... Canada. Replacing them with new tires on Nov 29 ... in case it snows. :) $1,640 CAD bottom line, installed, from tires23 in Mississauga.

    Software Update 2018.42.x

How to get the most recent firmware: 1. Use AP a lot. 2. Keep torsion on the steering wheel constantly (when using AP). 3. Avoid getting the red hands like the plague. 4. When you get the red hands (because AP is befuddled), take steering control instantly. Explanation: Tesla wants to first...

    Software Update 2018.39.6 8377b4d

True. Even people show up ... at 90 kph! When towing a 5' x 10' utility trailer it also periodically shows up as a truck or car. Occasionally the hand crank (for raising the front of the trailer when stopped) shows up as a little person! A person, evidently running, behind the Tesla at...

    Software Update 2018.39.6 8377b4d

Re: Steeringwheel heat. Thanks @mongo and @croman for your help on that. Got it. 1. Touch the fan icon. 2. Touch the wavy lines tab on the far left of the screen. I had been looking for what the manual calls a "seat tab", not a wavy line heat tab. And I imagined the tab would be on the top or...

    Software Update 2018.39.6 8377b4d

Help! I can't find steering heat and back seat heat. (MX AP2 on 39.6) I did what the manual said. The tab they talk about seems to be missing. I have the sub-zero winter package option installed on the car. It worked on V8.1 Thanks.

    Software Update 2018.39.6 8377b4d

Really enjoying 39.6 1. So much nicer not having to disengage AP in order to change lanes on local roads. 2. So nice to know AP is also watching the blind spot ... actually 360 degrees. 3. Slowing for stopped cars at traffic lights is far better. My back-seat driver doesn't have to smack me on...

    Discussion of maximum speed limits

How will limiting the top speed help? For example, if limited to 65 mph one can still accelerate recklesly, greatly exceed speed limits, and frustrate other drivers in a 70 mph zone. I would not be inclined to lend the car until the young driver shows a decent level of maturity in all aspects of...

    Software Update 2018.18

Yes, at slow speeds also. Besides that, AP2 is driving well on all roads and in all conditions. Stop and go traffic wiggling all gone. I just took a 14 hour road trip on 18.18. Lots of fun. We might all agree, not a dull moment on this Tess journey.

    Software Update 2018.16

Sure wish my "Enhanced" AP2 would change lanes on surface roads. Yes, AP2 is restricted to 5 MPH over a GPS position-related speed limit taken from some database. Sometimes the database is quite wrong or has no speed limit information. When there is no info, the default limit is 40 MPH.

    Software Update 2018.16

Do you still have auto lane change on surface roads? All I know is that I really liked that feature in an older model S loaner from the SC last fall and we still don't have it in AP2 cars. As I recall, that older S also drove excellently on surface roads. Perhaps your old AP firmware modules...

    Summon is limited in Canada?!

No one is blaming Tesla; read messages #1 and #12 of this thread. Just saying it would be nice if someone could have our Canadianised summon replaced with the summon the rest of the world gets. :)

    Summon is limited in Canada?!

As I said, if you read the rest of this thread you'll see others speaking about the disadvantages of our restricted Canadianised summon. A few of us still don't carry a cell phone everywhere, so fob summon, as it works in the rest of the world, makes plain sense to us. Why restrict Canadians?
  29. don123

    Summon is limited in Canada?!

Sorry, what I wrote wasn't too clear. Summon is really nice, but the Canadian version of summon is not so nice. Summon should work with the fob or the Tesla app as it does in Teslas sold outside Canada. Yes?

    Summon is limited in Canada?!

The comments on this thread make it pretty clear that there is no benefit to the Canadian summon. Do we have it because of some outdated law? Can we get it changed? It must add to the cost of the car over here. Sorry, I don't have any answers. Can anyone help? No, I can't move anywhere...

    Software Update 2018.16

My X is similar, but it doesn't seem to be "broken". In my case it seems that the steering heat is greatly reduced when it's warm inside/outside. The "little warmth" I've noticed on the top of the steering wheel on a warmer day seems to be from sunshine or uv coming through a light cloud cover...

Here's a thought: Start it charging. After about 10 minutes check the temperature of the plug. Remove and insert plug. Repeat test. If the temperature is ever more than warm, call SC. If it won't charge at your charger rated amps (and the battery is at less than 90%), call SC. Sorry, that's...

    Software Update 2018.14

  39. don123

    Firmware Update 2018.12

Yes, good idea, but Elon might not want to revisit the speed threshold thinking. The mirrors used to unfold at about 10 mph, but that feature was removed roughly mid-2017. As I vaguely recall, someone had folded their mirrors and proceeded to drive down an alley. At 10 mph or so the mirrors...

    Version 2018.10.4

If you think 10.4 AP gets too close to oncoming traffic on some curves, try keeping an eye on the lane lines in the rear camera view. Tess really doesn't drift any longer. Well, not my Tess. It's all in the mind ... it seems. Be sure to keep the other eye on the road ... impress your...

    Software Update 2018.10

Here's how it works. There's a new software engineer on the team. He needs to get familiar with the system and Tesla needs to know how good he is. Team leader, "Mmmm, let's give him that little frunk/trunk task." Voila! Question: In the UK, is a frunk called a foot or froot?
