Model X Reservation for sale, VIN assigned and ready for pickup

Gotta love these new members coming on and trying to make a quick buck or 20k. Being a Tesla fanatic and not wanting cars to go to inventory so that someone else can benefit (albeit for a slight profit) is one thing. Trying to gouge people like this is another thing, and I’ll betcha anything the...

Major 2021 Model X refresh pending [Update: Unveiled January 27, 2021]

Not sure if this matters, but I haven’t seen anyone else pick up on this yet. I had an order ready to go up until yesterday morning to potentially lock in the savings, but didn’t end up pulling the trigger. I did however leave the page open and compared the old page to the new, and noticed...

Battery day disappointments?! Elon on twitter

Holding out hope for updates to the X, as S & X aren’t “serious high-volume production” vehicles. I’ll be surprised if there’s no sort of update on S & X, but who knows, as this whole thing is a bit of a mystery box. All that being said, I put in my order for an X earlier today, hoping that my...

    MCU Failure Poll

Seeing the same thing here, ECamel... Yesterday my rear view camera and proximity detectors never closed out after I started to drive, and I had to reset the screen mid-drive here in the AZ 110 degree heat, and it was a brutal wait for the reset. I’ve noticed more and more quirky things like...

    v2020.24.6 update killed my X

Exact same situation and scenario happened to me about a week after my HW3 upgrade. Had to have it towed in, and 12v battery had to be replaced. Seems odd this is happening mid update and bricking, essentially frying the 12v (if that’s possible).

It's official! Tesla website says HW2.0 cars "scheduling now" for MCU2 upgrade!

Well, quick update from my end on the FSD upgrade. As Chancellor alluded to, it was a shitshow outta the gates in Tempe. After confirming with me that it would take about 2-3 hours, and that I wouldn’t need a loaner, they promptly informed me that they couldn’t get to my car on Tuesday, and...

It's official! Tesla website says HW2.0 cars "scheduling now" for MCU2 upgrade!

So, this was interesting... I got an update on necessary parts being shipped and arrived at the service center. Hopefully this will negate some of the challenges others have faced with parts not being available. This is the first time I’ve seen or heard of this the of communication, so may be...

It's official! Tesla website says HW2.0 cars "scheduling now" for MCU2 upgrade!

Just spoke with service, and they said to anticipate 2-3 hours for the chip upgrade. They also noted that Rangers are unable to perform the upgrade remotely on the X, only on the 3. I’ll report back as to what the reality is on the ground as everything gets underway on Friday.

It's official! Tesla website says HW2.0 cars "scheduling now" for MCU2 upgrade!

Thanks Chancellor, good to know, and that’s what I’m worried about. If they need to have it over the weekend, I’m screwed.

It's official! Tesla website says HW2.0 cars "scheduling now" for MCU2 upgrade!

Thanks HB! I probably just have mentioned that I’m also just getting the AP3 chip installed, no MCU upgrade.

It's official! Tesla website says HW2.0 cars "scheduling now" for MCU2 upgrade!

Have my appointment scheduled for Friday in Tempe as well, and everything looks good so far. Anyone have an idea as to how long it takes them to swap the chip? I’m a bit worried about how and where to wait it out, as I’m driving a couple hours to get there, and will be stranded if they still...

Any HW3 updates to MCU1 Model X or Model s?

Many, if not all, of those appointments are being cancelled. I’ll be interested to see if there’s actually anyone with MCU1 and AP2.0 who get’s upgraded in the next week or two. It's official! Tesla website says HW2.0 cars "scheduling now" for MCU2 upgrade!

Any HW3 updates to MCU1 Model X or Model s?

Actually in Tucson now, which I suspect is a laggard as far as the SC’s go. Experience is a bit sub-optimal to what I was experiencing at the Tempe / Scottsdale SC’s.

It's official! Tesla website says HW2.0 cars "scheduling now" for MCU2 upgrade!

I just posted this on another thread as well, but my SC told me that there’s no path forward for my May 17 delivered X with regards to the FSD chip upgrade. He communicated to me that it was the MCU1 that was the limiting factor. Not sure what reality is for us these days. Frustrating.

Any HW3 updates to MCU1 Model X or Model s?

What he told me is that they haven’t released an upgrade path for MCU1. He may have been mistaken on what he told me, but this guys been pretty good in the past. I’m assuming it’s at a minimum the MCU1, and more likely an issue of the combination of my AP2.0 and MCU1. That being said, it’s...

Any HW3 updates to MCU1 Model X or Model s?

This thread’s been dormant for a while, but wanted to pass along that I just validated with my local service team that at this point there is no availability for the FSD chip for vehicles with MCU1, and no path forward at this point, as far as they’re aware of. Very frustrating as I’m now...

    Where’s the rumor train?

I think you’re on to something, @MassPlay. I’ve been debating myself whether to re-up on a short term lease for a longer range battery, or hold out for the Cybertruck. Unless there is significant incentive to upgrade along with some new variants, I don’t see my self doing the former anytime...

    2020.12.5 Issues for MCU1 AP 2.0

Thanks for the replies everyone, very helpful. I’ll continue to wait it out as she’s just sitting in the garage for a while anyway. Hopefully not an MCU issue, though maybe that would just push me to upgrade. Appreciate all of the insight!

    2020.12.5 Issues for MCU1 AP 2.0

Though I know our configuration is at best an afterthought now, I wanted to reach out to the community to see if anyone else with my config is having issues updating to 2020.12.5. I’ve received the download (which pauses around 53-73%) multiple times now, and after rebooting (again, multiple...

    Zero Regeneration Braking!

Call it what you will, but I know the ins and outs of how and why the Tesla performs under different conditions. I also live in Arizona, and it’s typically between 50 and 60 degrees F in the morning here, which I paid close attention to. I experienced a dotted yellow line calling out reduced...

    Cancellation of Tesla Maintenance Plan

It took about 3 weeks for me to get a response. When I did, I got an email apologizing for the wait, and that my case was now opened. I then received a check about 2 weeks later, with no further communication. I was pleasantly surprised to have gotten $2k plus back, and am in year 3 of the...

Venting about X Order - Thoughts?

Congrats! Never a better time to own a vehicle with “Bioweapons defense mode”
  29. Ryshaw

Any HW3 updates to MCU1 Model X or Model s?

Ditto. Give us some sort of path forward, as the ability to upgrade our current vehicles looks to be difficult at best, and no where near a reality in the short to mid-term.

    Canceled my Model X order . . . .

Not to mention, good luck with getting that Electric Hummer charged up on the road. People seem to forget about the moat that is the Supercharger network for Tesla. Charging outside of that network is clunky and hit or miss at best, and that is what GM will have to rely on. Let’s all hope that...

    Model X Hardware Updates

The best answer, unfortunately, is that your guess is good as ours. At this point there are really three options. The change is made overnight in the coming months, the change is announced on “Battery Day” or Elon Musk leaks via Twitter, and the changes are worked in to manufacturing at some...

Order Model X now or wait for latest update

The answer is, very quickly. They will flip the switch literally overnight on features, so you may see the inclusion of a Qi charger beginning next week, or this could be part of an interior refresh to take place in March or October (completely unfounded, but just using for the sake of...

Is Your MCU1 Model X Still on 2019.40.2.1?

Let us know if you have any luck with the push... I’m beginning to think there is something wrong with the software package I’m currently on as it told me I had a firmware update in waiting, and then disappeared. If you have any luck I’ll try the same route.
  34. Ryshaw

Is Your MCU1 Model X Still on 2019.40.2.1?

Agreed. They need to at least provide a path forward for those of us who paid for FSD on AP 2.0 vehicles to at a minimum trade up to the newer vehicles with no additional charge for FSD on the new vehicles. I think the FSD software license should follow owners once they’ve purchased for the...

Is Your MCU1 Model X Still on 2019.40.2.1?

May 2017 X is on 36.2.1 And this is with “early updates” on. Frustrating, as I feel as though we’re an afterthought at this point.

Latest Model X - Vented Seats?

I wonder why it is that they come and go. Even a slight difference in temperature on the seats during the summer makes a big difference here in AZ as well. I hope they figure this out sometime this year, as I’d love to have on the next X.
  37. Ryshaw

    Should I get a new Model X?

I’m debating the same thing. I have an April 2017 75D MX with FSD and UFSC, and I too would ultimately like to upgrade to a newer model to take advantage of the multitude of updates that have occurred since I bought the vehicle, and to also get a larger battery, as my driving needs have changed...

    Crazy AP Behavior 40.2.1

Experienced this last night during a 2 hour drive back home in the evening on the I-10 here in Arizona. Much more ping-ponging than in the past, semi-erratic lane changes, and odd slow-downs with nothing around. I got the dreaded questionable eye roll from my wife for using AP, which I haven’t...

Would tesla offer incentive to AP2.0 with FSD to get new cars ?

They actually do offer incentives to upgrade / buy a new Tesla, which is reflected in both their offer for current owners to receive Ludicrous mode at no additional cost when buying a new Performance model, or the continuation of UFSC for the purchase of a new Tesla. If you’re point is that...

    Range gain from Tsportsline Wheels?

It has not been my experience. I replaced my Pirellis at 26k miles upon my 2 year inspection. Unfortunately the Service Center replaced with Goodyears, which I did not request, nor realized until after I’d left. I’ve read about the increased wear before as well, but didn’t notice any sort of...

    Range gain from Tsportsline Wheels?

I’m curious as to any current MX owners experience in switching from the Tesla stock 22’s to Tsportsline’s 22” wheels which claim to be 25% lighter. I’m curious about the real world experienced range gains that people have experienced, as this may be something appealing for my next X instead of...

    V10 on the Model X

Just got V10 on a May 2017 AP 2.0 MX. Unfortunately can’t access release notes for some reason, but have driven it a good bit, and the new Driving Visualizations are a good bit better, and AP seems like another step forward. The Advanced Summon is pretty sweet as well. Used it in a couple of...

Model X Auto Open Frunk (new struts and spring)

I did this mod as well, and absolutely love it! I used a different strut (listed below), but with the same spec, and it works fantastic. Slightly harder to close than the weaker factory struts, but this is offset by the softer close with the new spring. I’ve Been driving with this for 4 weeks...

Retro fit AP 2.5 to 3.0 is starting to happen

Thanks csisram45, appreciate the insight, and look forward to hearing how it goes. I’m assuming you’ve got AP2.5? Has anyone been able to confirm an AP2.0 being either upgraded, or in the queue? As an AP2.0 owner, I’m fearing that we will see a much later upgrade here than others.

75D AP2.0 MCU1 here. Just got and installed the update this morning (remotely). Won’t be able to see it for a couple days, but excited to see the release notes. Agree with @Asterix that our calculus in choosing 75 or 100 would have looked different if we’d known about the charge rate...
