    Trade in 2020 or keep.......

Similar situation for us, we had a 2017 X (included FUSC) and then moved to a 2020 X (included FUSC) and after the 2020 X went out of warranty (58K miles) with multiple visit for the front half shaft issues, we decided the 2023 X w/ FUSC offer in Dec '23 was worth it jump. The refresh is the...

Model X Pending Deliveries - Postponed due to Firmware / Software Issues?

Curious what "error messages" they're referring to. I was told deliveries of all X/S's are delayed til next week due to the '24 VIN changeover.

    2024 VINs?

I heard from my SA that Tesla is holding X/S deliveries until 12/10 due to backend changes to support '24 VINs. Separately, I'm curious what the groups thinks about the following: *Would you rather have a later VIN (PF425 or something) with a build date of mid Nov OR *PF423 with a build date...

A few Model X Plaid issues that the service center can't take care of

Looks like the spring noise from the glovebox is still happening. Heard this on a brand new 2023 Model X today -- the SA said this is "normal" and happens on all the X and S's. I find that hard to believe...

    2024 VINs?

I received my VIN today (11/20) and I ordered at the end of Oct. Still a 2023 VIN for delivery end of Nov to early Dec.

    Unresponsive touchscreen

Very interesting -- I finally got logs from their tech team and it does appear USB inputs (my dash cam drive), was causing issues. Will see if the issue returns, but this appears (so far) to be the main culprit. Been dealing with unresponsive touchscreen issues for a couple years even after...

Tesla MCU Index - ARM Tegra, Intel Atom, AMD Ryzen

Looks like there may be a new part number for the MCU2? Unfortunately, the replacement didn’t fix my issue. Screen stills freezes, more debugging needed.

Tesla MCU Index - ARM Tegra, Intel Atom, AMD Ryzen

I suspect they have a couple suppliers for certain chipsets and some just don't perform as well as others, but are "within spec". Have there been any known warranty replacements on vertical S/X vehicles with MCU3?

Tesla MCU Index - ARM Tegra, Intel Atom, AMD Ryzen

I just had my MCU/whole touch screen replaced this week on our 2020 LR+ Model X. They have to address a few other things, but when I played with the touchscreen and map rendering, it was noticeably faster than the original MCU that came with the car (something I observed on delivery). The...

Good question. I believe the answer is yes, but you would have to confirm with Tesla.

    Tesla to J1772 Adapter?

Sorry for bumping an old thread, but I installed a new Gen 2 Wall Charger this past weekend (worked great with the Tesla) and when I connected the Jdapter to our 2020 Bolt, it didn't work. This was the only workaround that did it for me! Thanks for sharing this tip. For some reason...

Rear Motor Disabled-Still OK to Drive

I believe the rear induction motor is primarily there for add power/performance. The permanent magnet motor from the model 3 (now in the S/X) is doing the bulk of the work and is what’s delivering the improved efficiencies we’re seeing. I was told by a credible source that you should be able...

2020 LR+ map loading sluggish performance

Any reason a Model S should differ from a Model X both MCU2?

    2020 Model X headrest

Having owned both a 2017 X and a 2020 LR+ X now, I prefer the comfort of the 2020 seats, but like the angle of the adjustable headrests pre-2020. I think the new ones are angled a bit too forward, but not bad enough where it’s a problem for me. Just doing 1K mile road trip and it’s pretty...

2020 LR+ map loading sluggish performance

I just tested with my cousin’s 2018 Model S 100D MCU2 and it’s also faster than our 2020 LR+ X, so not sure? I think your theory with the Model 3 could be true — not sure if it uses a faster processor since they’re both using the Intel Atom for the new MCU2. But there are less pixels to push...

2020 LR+ map loading sluggish performance

Yes, did a reboot with scroll wheels and still the same.
  29. E

2020 LR+ map loading sluggish performance

I already have 1300 miles on the car, so my guess is it’s not that. The loading or map tiles is not as snappy as I’ve seen compared to other MCU2 cars.

2020 LR+ map loading sluggish performance

I’m a previous 2017 75D owner with MCU1 and AP2.0 for 3 years so was pretty familiar with the performance of the touchscreen. We picked up a 2020 LR+ (MCU2, AP FSD) and of course the overall speed is faster and settings is great, but I do notice that when pinch/zooming and loading maps...

    Model X driver seat issue

I had both driver and passenger seats swapped out early on in our 2017 X. The driver seat made a big difference (which they replaced first), waited for the passenger to arrive a month later (part wasn’t available), and Tesla changed the material of the seat to be much more firm and it was...

Raven vs. non-raven: huge difference, or not?

I'd recommend going to Tesla to test drive a Raven so you can experience first hand. We went from a 2017 75D to a 2020 LR+ and in addition to the range increase (which is huge), the ride is noticeably more compliant IMO and worth the upgrade. But I think you would have to decide for yourself...

Possible wind noise around drivers side mirror Model X Raven

Stumbled upon this thread from a few months ago. I picked up a 2020 Model X LR+ a couple weeks back and ran into this exact issue. Brought it to the SC and the shop foreman did a 30 sec test drive and knew what the issue was immediately. They mentioned that this was a known service bulletin...

    2017 TX EPA 228 miles

Pretty normal I believe. Will continue to degrade, but the speed in which it degrades will slow down over time.
  37. E

    2017 TX EPA 228 miles

Yes, pretty normal. Our 2017 75D @100% was around 220, so 228 is pretty good actually. (45K miles on our car for reference)

2020 MX Raven LR+ home charging solution

Having owned EVs for 5 yrs, I totally agree with this. I’d save the money on the HPWC and use the mobile charger (gen 1 if you can find one for gen 2 should be fine with a 14-50 adapter). Our gen 1 works great and now gets 30-31 mph charge on the 2020 X LR+.

    Lowballed on trade-in from Tesla

I went through the exact situation/process as you. Quoted our 2017 X 75D a few months ago around $55K and a couple weeks ago it’s not worth $45K. My best guess is that the overall used car market has taken a massive his due to the pandemic. I ended up with 4 quotes from Tesla, Vroom, Carvana...

    2020 MX LR+ Experience

We took delivery of our X LR+ this past Friday coming from a 2017 X 75D and they delivered to our house this time vs. the Fremont delivery center. Couldn’t be easier. So far the upgrades of greater range (our main driver to upgrade), faster MCU2, Dashcam, Sentry mode (with recordings)...
