I just have to ask once again. Does the vibration go away if you drive and trigger it actively for 5-10 minutes? Maybe a different issue, but on my 2019 Raven the vibration goes away after 5-10 minutes of triggering it. Very strange, but it is very smooth after it has been «warmed up».

After upgrading to 2023.2.11, my 2019 Model S Raven w/bulletin fix seems to have less vibration. It’s pretty cold today (~5C), so I should have felt more vibration. Very strange.. way too early to conclude, though. Need to do more testing, but if it continues to perform like this in even colder...

I have the same impression. Definitely gets worse in low temperatures. Here on Norway it is around 0C now and I feel the vibration every day.

Please let us know if/when you get the new Plaid vibration. I got that after I had mine 2019 Raven fixed. It is a vibration that is always there in the speed range 40-60 mph.

Alternatively, install lowering links from n2itive adjusted to -5 (20 mm). Maybe also install their products to adjust the rear camber. Seems like their products are top notch!

I will ask Tesla to lower the suspension 20mm and replace the half shafts in April. They have lowered it before, so I know that is possible.

Can someone with a Plaid or LR check the part numbers of the half shafts? Would like to confirm they are the same as the ones I have on my Raven.

Yes, under hard acceleration it seems to blend with the general shaking of the car.

It starts in that range. I can feel the vibration all the way up to ~65 mph, especially when going uphill.

How can you be so sure? It has the exact same symptoms as described for the refresh and I have had the bulletin SB-21-39-001 done. I have the following halfshafts: 1626636-00-A 1626638-00-A It was after this SB I got the vibration.

Thanks. I agree, it shouldn’t be like that. In April, I will put on new tires and have it checked again. The issue is easy to reproduce. Soon time for winter tires here in Norway.

Tesla rebalanced the front tires. That removed the vibration. I still have a vibration under hard acceleration, but I guess that is normal.

I have the exact same. Like a humming/vibration. Most noticable on good roads, but still very annoying. Anyone who got this fixed? I am taking my car in for this tomorrow. I highly doubt they will fix it though..

How is the size of the Model Y back seats compared to Model S ? Live in Norway, so there are no Model Y here. Is the Model Y back seat almost the same as Model 3?

I agree. The new default sucks. When set to a certain height, it should just stay there until you cross the next max speed.

It's very strange that Tesla didn't discover this issue during development/testing. At least during Plaid testing.. wonder if Plaid will be released with this issue too..

Tesla will not launch Model S Plaid without any other updates. The plaid will get bigger battery and most likely the new battery tech. I also believe there will be a significant interior update and some exterior updates. Not sure when, but I think within 2-3 months. So, now might be a good time...

Try to drive a bit too fast over a downhill speed bump in Comfort..then you will notice. The front will touch the ground.

Just put the summer tires on my 2019 Model S Performance - and the shudder is still there on hard accelleration in standard.. SC lowered my car 20 mm. They claimed it was too high. That definitely reduced the issue, but it was not fixed. Hope Tesla get a fix out soon!

Phantom braking happens seemingly at random, so it is very dangerous, especially when it suddenly brakes hard. I really don't get why Tesla is not fixing this..

Is phantom breaking an issue in the US too? I live in Norway, and the car breaks down at random for no reason. This sometimes leads to dangerous situations. It is a common issue here. It's been like this for more than a year I think. It also happens if I drive on cruise control without autopilot.

Mine is 715mm in low and 725mm in standard. Anyone else bother to measure?

What is your current ride height? If I stick wooden plank in right behind the front wheel, the stack measures ~113 mm in standard. How does that compare to yours?

Here in Norway, the SC refused to replace the half shafts on my brand new Model S Performance. Instead, they lowered the suspension by 20mm.. not so happy about that. Just masks the issue.
