Model S very poor "Vision Line Height" for Tall Drivers?

This is my experience as well. I am 6'3" and in the "normal" seat position I definitely have challenges seeing stop lights that are overhead. Leaning the seat back at a decent angle certainly helps and it isn't that awkward once you get used to it. I imagine it is a bit more difficult as you...

Scary Random emergency braking on highway

These events were somewhat commonplace years ago when AP 2.0 was initially released. Overhead highway signs, bridges, etc. more often that not caused my Teslas to slam on the brakes and much like you've described almost caused multiple accidents. Over the past 2 - 3 years the tech got much...

FS: Original 21" Tesla Grey Turbine Wheels (Staggered) w/Tires

Thanks to everyone who has reached out via PM and responded to this thread. Unfortunately I am still not able to ship these wheels and don't think that I will be able to do so in the future. To that end, I am going to reduce the price of these wheels down to $800 total for the set. I realize...

FS: Original 21" Tesla Grey Turbine Wheels (Staggered) w/Tires

Yes, these do include the TPMS sensors. EDIT - To clarify, the TPMS sensors were included when they were on the car. I have no reason to believe that Tesla would have removed them when they were taken off and replaced with the 19” wheels.

FS: Original 21" Tesla Grey Turbine Wheels (Staggered) w/Tires

For sale are (4) 21" Tesla grey turbine wheels that I originally purchased with my Model S in 2017. The wheels are in good condition with minor chip damage (example in pic) in two places. The wheels come with Continental ContiSport tires, specs are 245/35 for the front wheels and 265/35 for...

Ah yes. Tesla service at it again in the East.

I have the same issue going on right now with our Model X, also in for an MCU upgrade. I dropped the car off at the local Service Center on Wednesday of last week and was told that they were running a little behind and wouldn't be able to work on the car until Thursday or Friday. Now I was a...

    Model X reliability...

We've had our Model X for over 2 years now. Fortunately we have not had a single problem with the falcon wing doors but we did have an actuator go bad in the driver's door that was replaced via mobile service. The issue that Uncle Paul is pointing out about the shudder, we had the same problem...

Model S P90DL, does it come with Full Self Driving Capability ?

From what I recall, the P90D was no longer configurable in October 2016. I believe that the configurable options at that point were the P100D or the 90D. This site is full of folks that maintain that type of info so I'm sure someone will check the math.

    Entitled at the supercharger

I fell into this way of thinking as well. What he was actually saying is when you interrupt the charging process (the green to blue light that you mentioned) that the priority goes to the second car plugged into that same circuit. Doesn't necessarily need to fully unplug in order to affect the...

    Entitled at the supercharger

This isn't actually possible right? I was under the impression that all Teslas locked when you walked away from the car...including the linkage to the charge cables.

Everlasting pursuit of a dashboard rattle

I had the exact same problem that the SC just fixed yesterday under warranty. Went through at least 2 or 3 visits where they could not replicate the sound I was hearing. Feelsgoodman now that it is fixed.

    V 10 Autopilot behavior change

I have experienced both of these as well. There's definitely more "wiggle" in the wheel than in V9, especially in turning situations. I've also noticed the car make a quick and be described as an unexpected bump to the side of the lane away from a big rig or even a delivery van in my case...

    Nagshead charging?

Thank you for that! Look forward to checking it out tomorrow!

    Nagshead charging?

Right! That is actually my exact concern. We are traveling to the OBX this weekend and it would be really beneficial to have this SC fully operational for our trip. My fear is Tesla could turn it up/down at their discretion without any advertisement in doing so. It could put us in a little...

    Nagshead charging?

Doesn’t Tesla typically update their Supercharger locations basically in real-time once they go live? I checked the Navigation this morning and this Supercharger is still not showing up on the map. Has anyone else confirmed that this SC is active?

News for Model X owners with the dreaded shudder

We have both an S (early 2017) and an X (early 2018) and I can confirm that both of them shudder under hard acceleration, even at Standard height. I agree with what someone else in this thread said that your shuddering under breaking sounds like a different issue from what is being discussed in...

    Rear view camera - v9.0

I actually did this because like many of the S/X owners on here I really think that this is a downgrade from a choice perspective. I love a lot of the things about the new update but removing the customization of having my standard view (rear facing camera top, music or energy bottom) doesn't...

    Is LTE still free?

They are splitting up the LTE services into two separate packages, Premium and Basic. Premium includes Slacker streaming radio (U.S.), satellite navigation maps, etc. Premium is included with the purchase of a new Model S for 12 months for free and then has a fee after 12 months, or you can...

Yes, it really is a jarring experience. I'm assuming that mechanically everything is working fine?

    Reboot loop

I had something similar happen to our Model X as well fairly recently. We had an MCU & Instrument Cluster that would go into reboot loops periodically and it's pretty concerning when that happens in a new car. We also had our driver profile settings get corrupted and disappear, along with the...

    Windshield replacement

I just had the windshield replaced on my Model S last week, similar experience to the ones that have been outlined in this thread. My first monthly payment is coming up - where do *you* make your payments?

I have had two loans through Tesla finance (one through TD Auto Finance & one through US Bank) and in both cases I received a letter in the mail on how to setup an account and pay online. I expect you have or will be receiving the same thing through your leinholder.

Just bought an X. My first Tesla. It'll be the family beater and we'll ignore it. Suggestions?

That’s totally a fair point. I guess I have never looked into the cost of resurfacing & repainting before so I would have no clue how much that would cost or how often it would need to be done.

Just bought an X. My first Tesla. It'll be the family beater and we'll ignore it. Suggestions?

This thread has really brought out some interesting perspectives. I find it really odd (and I'm certainly not calling out any one person in particular) that some folks here think that the Xpel wrap (say it's roughly $4K) is a waste of money. Even on a base model 75D, you're looking to spend...

Just bought an X. My first Tesla. It'll be the family beater and we'll ignore it. Suggestions?

If you don't mind spending a little bit of extra money...I would highly suggest floor mats for the interior (Tesla has some nice ones available on their website) and think about getting a clear wrap on the exterior to help protect the paint. We just picked up a Model X for my Wife a couple of...

The Grand Tour did Model X Review - Clarkson Liked it - Kind of

On the drag race, my guess was that he was aware that you have to enable "Ludicrous Mode" prior to utilizing it (or someone did it for him) so the battery can take time to fully warm up. Since it was likely already enabled that would explain the steps that followed.

    Supercharger - Glen Allen, VA

I noticed that as well and I had an opportunity to go by there today and check it out. There are currently (4) of the (20) stalls that are still taped off for some reason on the front section. Outside of that everything else seems to be workin fine. There are currently (3) Teslas here...

    Supercharger - Glen Allen, VA

I will give Tesla credit, whether it was my email or someone else that reached out to them in regards to these parking spaces being incorrect, there is currently a paving crew on site that is redoing the lines. From what I can tell the spaces do appear to be marked properly this time as they...

    Supercharger - Glen Allen, VA

Not sure if any of you have gotten a chance to check out this Supercharger station yet after the repaving but I noticed an issue on the side with the original 8 stalls. Supercharging

I just noticed this as well. My Wife and I ordered her a Model X on Dec. 31st and I was reading through some Tesla documentation saying that the Free Supercharging was limited to the original buyer and did not apply for resale of the vehicle. Does anyone know if this is something new that...

    Referral rewards disappeared

This actually happened for me last night, noticed it in the 9PM hour. I was in the process of ordering a Model X for the wife and noticed that I couldn’t apply my referral code for the free Supercharging. I called the local Dealership Manager and they were able to add it manually, which was...

East Coast Supercharger Celebration Road Trip Idea

Sounds like a great idea Bill! I've been following the SuperCharger in Charlottesville pretty closely over the past couple of months as that is a key stop for me traveling from Richmond, West up I-64. I think that the SCs in West VA and Pennsylvania would be cool to check out as well. I've...

Tesla allowed to open Richmond VA location

Really nice event tonight as others have said. Got a chance to meet some cool, local Tesla owners, shake hands with the Governor and have a couple of drinks with the Mrs. Best part is that I think that I convinced the Wife on a Model X so I've got that going for me.

Tesla allowed to open Richmond VA location

That's funny, I also picked up my Model S in February. Happened to be at the Tesla dealership in Tysons. None of the cars on the lot had a window sticker, nor did mine for that matter. I did however get a print out of the features of the car but it looked identical to the feature listing that...
