    Awkward time to buy?

I ordered 12/6 and was given the option of sticking with long range awd and risking not making 12/31, or upgrading to an inventory stealth performance for $2k more (other options the same) and guaranteeing delivery before 12/31. I picked up my stealth yesterday (12/18) and love it. And it...

LR AWD Performance (Stealth TM3) Waiting Room

Looks like my picture is broken above, and I don't see any way to edit posts, so here it is. Also of possible interest - I used my own referral code from our 2013 S P85 w/ unlimited supercharging and ended up getting 2,000 miles free supercharging for the 3 instead of 1,000. That's pretty cool.

LR AWD Performance (Stealth TM3) Waiting Room

Picked up today. Aside from some leftover bits of shipping tape or something and an aero wheel cap not snapped all the way on, I couldn't find any defects. I'm sure some might nitpick some panel alignment or something, but it looks pretty great to me. Acceleration is absurd once the battery...

I need some convincing re: M3 Performance

My previous cars were 08 Evo X, 06 Corvette C6, 05 Pontiac GTO, 08 Audi S4, various other 'fun' manual cars. All were modded and set up for autocross or 1/4 mi, and the occasional road course day. I bought a 2013 Model S P85 ~3 years ago and would never look back. Even my old P85 made all my...

LR AWD Performance (Stealth TM3) Waiting Room

Got the 'schedule your appointment' text this morning. Still doesn't show a VIN on the site (other than in source), but it let me schedule an appointment for next Tuesday in Minneapolis. Pretty fast considering I only ordered 12/6.

LR AWD Performance (Stealth TM3) Waiting Room

Ordered 12/6, changed to stealth 12/7. VIN in source showed up today 12/11, 602xxx. Site still shows "we are drafting up your contract" etc. Hoping we can make 12/31 yet.

    My CPO experience so far

Thanks @Kalease Best of luck. My wife and I also have a 3 reservation and planned to wait for AWD as well. I'm glad we got the S now though. It'll be nice to never stop for gas again. I called Tesla service department over lunch today and they told me to bring it right in. Went for a test...

    My CPO experience so far

Didn't have time to charge to 100%, but the car shows 253 rated miles at 98%. So that would be ~258 at 100%. So it's about 2.64% less than the factory rated range after 48k miles. Seems pretty good to me.

    My CPO experience so far

Took delivery of "Steve" today (... our 5 year old Minecraft-obsessed son won naming rights). They weren't able to get the inspection report yet, so I'm not exactly sure what was done, but I'm impressed. Paint, wheels, seats, interior, the whole car is in incredible condition. My jaw dropped...

Delivery person called last night to say the car will be ready for delivery today if I'm available. Going to go get it at 1pm :)

Why Are You Not Cancelling Your Reservation?

Having recently had a free brand new audi loaner, I can firmly say the "great instrument cluster" is no where near as good as tesla's infotainment. It feels ancient and clunky. But the HUD is nice.

    Affording a Tesla

Do any of those fees vary with the usage aside from the per kWh rate? I was only considering the standard rates vs off-peak rates + meter cost, ignoring other fees because I assumed those would remain the same. I didn't expect to be getting an estimate of the total bill, just the difference...

    My CPO experience so far

Best of luck, bnsn. Yesterday afternoon, 7/27 they emailed to say my car is completely ready, will be shipped to Minneapolis on Tuesday 8/1. Just emailed again to say they may have it here sooner and will follow up shortly. So hopefully we're on the home stretch.

I'm nearing the end of week 9 and still don't have my car, if that makes you feel any better. The loaner is keeping me sane at least. The car is amazing. I just hope they don't fall apart as a company due to bad logistics like this.

Congrats on your purchase. I'm ready for my real car, but the loaner is pretty fun and a nice preview. I live literally across the street from the gym I go to, but instead of walking like I normally would, the past 2 nights I've driven and taken a few mile loop to play with things. Wrong on...

Certainly worth asking. I took a factory in early June after reserving my S as I was in the bay area for a conference anyway. The scale and number of challenges Tesla has overcome to make these cars a reality was mind-blowing. Best of luck with your delivery. Well played. Though I'm...

Picked up the loaner. Nathan @ Minneapolis store has been very helpful. They gave me a newer 85D. Haven't had a chance to explore all the options yet as I had to get back to the office right away, but already very impressed. This car has better seats than mine (I think they're the "next gen"...

Thanks. I got an email this morning confirming a Tesla loaner for Monday at noon, so I'm pretty sure they will. Having all the money and having given me multiple delivery dates that were way off probably helps. I also got a call from the regional CPO advisor in Chicago today apologizing for...

    My CPO experience so far

Sounds like a good deal. Yeah... I just made this post to vent I guess. Guess I'm just hoping the car will be worth the wait. Do have sort of good news. I have a buyer lined up for the car the Tesla is replacing, so I emailed the delivery specialists last night asking if I can sell it or...

    My CPO experience so far

Still no car. Loan check was expiring and CU advised me to just have Tesla deposit it or we'd have to redo the loan (which would be a pain as we're about to close on a home loan). So the car is fully paid for and we're now 7 weeks into the "3-5 week" delivery timeline with no estimate as to...

    Recent CPO Loan Rates

1.74% for 65 months with DCU in May. 800+ credit, they didn't ask for income verification or really anything. Whole process took about 10 minutes. 2.49% normal rate, -.25% for EV, -.5% for setting up a direct deposit with them within 90 days (we moved about ~50 mi from our prior local credit...

Good point, I should've mentioned meter charges. I was actually quoted $4.95/mo for the additional meter, not $10, so you may want to look into that again. I'm curious what your normal rates are? We don't currently have xcel (this is all planning ahead for a move next month to a place that is...

What do you pay for electricity?

$0.033/kWh - Xcel Energy EV rate plan in Minnesota. 9pm-9am weekdays, all weekend and holidays.

    My CPO experience so far

Because we also have a model 3 reservation to replace my wife's ICE vehicle eventually (only reserved in May, so I'm sure we're well down on the list), we're adding 2 NEMA 14-50 plugs for now. Because we're doing Xcel's EV rate plan, we need to add a 2nd meter, so we're also adding a 2nd 200amp...

    Affording a Tesla

On the cable front - we ditched cable years ago in favor of Netflix ($7/mo at the time), and have recently ditched even Netflix in favor of just watching free YouTube. Not so much to save the $7/mo, more because we got addicted to some better YouTube channels and realized we weren't watching...

    Affording a Tesla

    a) the value of time is not merely monetary. For example: having an extra 10 minutes to hang out with my kids before leaving for work is valuable. As is not having to stand in -30 windchill for 5-10 minutes. b) why do you take on any work if not to afford things you want to buy? (aside from...

    Affording a Tesla

Good call @ winter energy loss. I did research that a bit but didn't calculate it here. So even if 100% of my driving was 30% less efficient (probably more like 30% or so, but let's be generous to the ICE again), $1,100 * 1.3 = $1,430, so about $330 over 100k miles. I can live with that. :)...

Holy $&*#! I figured CA was more expensive, but wow.. sorry, man. I guess maybe Tesla's "national average $0.12/kWh" advertising isn't necessarily underselling after all. Definitely makes me appreciate MN a bit more, even if our weather sucks.

    EV-CPO.com CPO Consolidator support thread

Ouch! Your electric provider doesn't have any off-peak plans, do they? It's $0.033 per kWh for my EV rate plan here (Xcel in MN). Granted gas is a little cheaper too, but often goes over $3/gal anyway. Best of luck w/ the CPO advisor.

    My CPO experience so far

My father-in-law, a retired electrician who lives about an hour away, already had a few outdoor NEMA 14-50 outlets for friends to park their RVs by the lake, so we knew we'd be good charging there when we visit. He just texted to say he added another outlet for us in his shop, so we can charge...

My CPO P85 has a 4yr / 50k warranty for $54k. It was never listed online, but pre-dated all the 2yr warranty cars that came a week or two after I ordered. Granted it's not a +, but it seems like there's hope. There are a few + at 58-60k if you can go up even a little. I'm curious what your...

    Affording a Tesla

Hit enter before I finished, oops. I enjoyed reading your reasoning / changes made to accommodate a new budget. From a CPO buyer perspective, the fuel cost alone can pretty easily drive the decision. Tesla undersells the fuel cost savings by using the national average electricity cost, when...

    Affording a Tesla

I don't have my car yet, but my affordability justification is as follows: ~$25k CPO Audi ICE car (about my average) $2.50/gallon gasoline (obviously varies, and depends on grade of fuel, but this is a pretty fair estimate) ~25mpg (about my typical car's average prior to model S.. I've mostly...

Question on CPO MS with rear facing seats

Rear facing seats were the primary reason we decided to buy a CPO model S while waiting for our 3. I had found a few options on ev-cpo / teslainventory, and called Tesla to discuss next steps - before I could tell them the specific cars I was looking at, they found one their internal list that...
