Model X Travel Trailer Consumption Analysis

Yes, I was made aware of this law when I bought my trailer. The two rentals never mentioned this!

Model X Travel Trailer Consumption Analysis

I've got some data from two trips I recently took with rentals. 2013 Jayco Jay flight SLX 185RB (https://www.jayco.com/files/downloads/prod_brochure_filename_193.pdf). 2800 dry weight. Slight upwards slope on the trailer nose, otherwise not aerodynamic at all. I was mostly driving along I-5...

Thoughts on Geo Pro camper trailer?

@ecarfan Correct - little elevation changes, about 50 degree temp, no wind, dry roads. Re: brakes - it has electric brakes but I didn't have a brake controller because I was only renting. I just bought a trailer so I'm installing the brake controller this week. I'll post this data in that...

Thoughts on Geo Pro camper trailer?

Update from renting a similar sized 2013 Jayco Jay flight SLX 185RB (https://www.jayco.com/files/downloads/prod_brochure_filename_193.pdf). 2800 dry weight. Slight upwards slope on the trailer nose, otherwise not aerodynamic at all. Range was a little better than half in ideal conditions going...

Campground has single 30amp plug but I want to charge both trailer and car

Sorry, I should have been clearer but you understood me correctly. I think @JimVandegriff nailed it though. That’s the best way to wake up with a full charge but still be able to use A/C and microwave during the day.

Campground has single 30amp plug but I want to charge both trailer and car

How can I do this? Plug in car and trickle charge trailer through 7-pin? Buy a 30 amp splitter? Other ideas?

What do you guys keep your tire pressure at 20 inch Continentals.

The towing guidelines on my X suggest a 46 PSI vs. 42 normally. Is it okay to keep things at 46? It’d be annoying to lower and raise it for each weekend trip.

    100d towing a 19ft camp trailer

Has anyone been able to get in touch with that driver since? His trailer is exactly the kind I'm looking at so I'd love to hear his experience since the maiden voyage.

Thoughts on Geo Pro camper trailer?

It seems like everyone says I should use a WD hitch if the trailer weight is >50% of the car, which it will be. And there's a major safety component so a WD hitch seems like a must have. But if I keep my tongue weight low (~400 lbs with cargo on that Jayco Hummingbird), will the Bosal still...

Thoughts on Geo Pro camper trailer?

Here's another alternative: 2018 Hummingbird 17BH | Jayco, Inc. Weight: 2940 Hitch weight: 345 It's quite a rounded rear (unlike Geo Pro and Jayco 154BH) which should help on aerodynamics, but it's also a bit wider.

Thoughts on Geo Pro camper trailer?

Great insights guys! Those Altos do look good but we're planning for two kids (got a 6-month old, another one coming in a year or so) and I think having them share a bed is a non-starter. Hence, my preference for the bunks that they can grow into (+ baby gate). This is the other one we're...

Thoughts on Geo Pro camper trailer?

Thanks guys! It will be myself, my wife, and our infant -- hence, the in-car camping is a thing of the past :-(

Thoughts on Geo Pro camper trailer?

Full Specs for 2018 Forest River Rockwood Geo Pro G16BH RVs | RVUSA.com Dry weight: 2,874 lbs Hitch weight: 420 lbs I’ve got a Model X 75D with 20in wheels. I want to make sure I’m not missing anything before pulling the trigger. In 60 degree weather, what sort of range should I expect?

Another Tesla Screw-up? (Three-position dynamic LED Turning Light)

I’m almost positive it was one combined PUP package but I’m not sure how to be sure. The Elektric article said this changed in late July! I do have the fog lights and ambient lights. I see them in the UI.

Another Tesla Screw-up? (Three-position dynamic LED Turning Light)

When did you order yours? My order was confirmed for August 3 and I took delivery on Sept 8. Seattle SC just told me the turning headlights were not part of my non-PUP order.

Another Tesla Screw-up? (Three-position dynamic LED Turning Light)

Same problem here. I took delivery first week of Sept non-PUP AP2.5. I actually noticed the problem because I took a loaner while they worked through some issues and the headlights definitely moved when I turned the wheel. Came back to my car and no such thing happens.

How to get Summon to stay straight

I already have it in "tight parking mode". I'll try a smaller bumper clearance but I assumed that was just front and back, not side to side. No rear view camera in AP2.5 on the X. Afaik that's only in the 3.

    Issues with summon after update.

I'm having a similar issue. I feel like 2017.32 worked better. With 2017.36, the car turns away too much from an obstacle (3-4 ft) instead of staying straight. You ever fine a fix?

How to get Summon to stay straight

I park horizontally alongside my garage because my X is too big to fit inside. I leave about an 18 inch gap between the garage door and the side of my X. The other side of the car is an alleyway. I use Summon to back up the X so I can drive my other car out of the garage. This works great --...

Available capacity with 125amp breaker at home

I'm in a 4-unit townhome. I share a wall with one of the other units, which is also the unit that has all of our power meters. It wouldn't be the first weird design decision that the builders made ;-) You're right on the AC unit. I looked it up and it draws 9.5A. I don't drive enough to need...

Available capacity with 125amp breaker at home

Thx for the input guys. And great FAQ @boaterva ! That homeowners insurance stuff was eye-opening. A couple other notes: The guy who said I'd be fine charging at 50amp was found using Tesla's Find an Electrician. He's done several Tesla home charger installs per week for a couple years. The...

Available capacity with 125amp breaker at home

I've had two electricians come to scope out work on my townhome installation. The first claimed I only had 20amps available but the other claimed I had 50. My heating and stove are gas-powered. How do I know which to trust? If I use the UMC with a NEMA 14-50, will the car automatically use...

How will X be affected by M3 deliveries over the next few weeks?

Ha - sadly no. Just a guy who's had an M3 reservation for over a year but now my wife and I are expecting our first child in November so we're now considering the X. LMK if there's any other way I can prove myself =)

How will X be affected by M3 deliveries over the next few weeks?

Just curious what people think. For example: If demand for M3 stays high, will they offer discounts on X or other value-adds? Any concern with production quality or are the factories and teams completely separate? Anything else you can think of? Thanks!
