I was driving today in heavy traffic and needed to keep my eyes glued to the road as much as possible, but I was cold and I wanted to raise the temperature in the car so I pressed the talk button and said "raise the temperature to seventy three" and it did! I then pressed the button again and...
I have an older model Model S with an MCU upgrade. A month or two ago my favorite channel, Classic Rock, stopped working. When playing something on another channel if I selected Classic Rock it would not switch away from the channel of the currently playing song and the Classic Rock window would...
I have an older Model S that has it's MCU updated. In our house we have two wifi networks and we park the car in our attached garage. Every time I get in the care it prompts me to "Connect to wifi". When I try I'm only shown one of the networks and I've tried several times to connect but I...
Thanks Dave. The car is 6 years old but the mcu is current so shouldn't it be able to connect to 5 Ghz networks which both N1 and N2 are? I've tried connecting to N2 (which I have to "add") but it can't connect. Is there any way to turn off WiFi without it turning back on when I restart the car?
My MCU was recently updated and the new version is asking me to connect to WiFi. I have two WiFi networks In my house, call then N1 and N2. My Model S only shows N1 and when I enter the password (which I'm sure is correct) it won't connect. My computer and cellphone are both connect to n2. What...
Thanks but I'm not sure that touches on what I'm looking for and that is a control setting that will cool the car and the batteries automatically when I'm not in the car and regardless of any other air-conditioning settings.
I don't get any options when I click that "triangle" (I think of it as the Start Trek" button) and all it does is center the screen over the location in a sky-high view.
Recently the "Location" map on my iPhone app changed. When I click Location It used to show a close-up version of where the car is, but now I have to manually do a two-finger zoom in to get the close-up view but when I do that the map doesn't follow the cars movement.
Is there a way to change...
I'm a little embarrassed because when I said "When I scroll the left wheel while pressing it..." that's the wrong approach. The correct approach is the press the wheel until the options appear, let go, and then scroll the wheel. Problem solved.
The left side (which I now know is called the instrument cluster) never goes dark when I do that although the touchscreen does. I also tried the "deep" method where you enter the car, close the doors and go to Controls>Safety and Security>Power Off. Then don't touch anything for 5 minutes.
I did that but I get confused about whether the door should be open or closed, how long I should hold the wheels down and if I should keep my foot on the brake and if so for how long.
The left-hand portion of the display behind the stearing wheel is stuck on "Clock". When I scroll the left wheel while pressing it, the only option is "Clock", What do I do?
Thanks. I noticed the wheels turning but when I last looked at the map screen I only remember seeing the time in the upper left. The car is undergoing a software update right now so I'll check it out when that's done.
I may be in the wring forum but it seems that the new Tesla App->Location on my iPhone no longer shows the speed at which the car is traveling. Is there any way to show it?
I was an early buyer of a Model S 75D and as part of a promotion I got free charging for life. The other day while on a trip with about 80 miles left in the "tank" I plugged in at a sparsely populated supercharging station expecting to be fully charged in 15 minutes, but it took almost an hour...
I have a model S that isn't being used much now that I'm hiding at home and last week when I did use it I found that Slacker wasn't working. I used the "Use Tesla Account" button and that didn't seem to work so I rebooted and after a while Slacker worked again. Today the same thing happened. Is...
One of my Model S' arachnid tires has a slow leak. Do I need to make a Tesla Service appointment or can a regular service station fix it?
It pisses me off that you can't talk to Tesla Service any more.
Fortunately for me my problem has cleared up.
For you, have you tried the methods mentioned here? How to reboot your Tesla if something is going wrong
I never new about the "Deep reset" until I found that page.
It's been my experience that minor updates say "minor updates" and recently (if that's what they have been) that has not been the case. I've contacted customer service.
I'm sorry that I wasn't clear. It's not the time it takes to display the update information that's the problem, but rather that although I've been notified recently of 3 updates, the description I eventually see is always for version 10.0.
I have a Model S and there have been 3 updates (I think) since 10.0 came out, but each time try to see the details of the current update ths creen stays blank for a while and when it does come back it is the same 10.0 update details. What gives???
This morning I saw a notice on my Tesla app that the climate control had been on for 4 hours so it was shut off. The car was in the garage all night being charged so I don't understand why that would happen. It has happened a couple of times before but I don't know if in those cases if it was...
We quite frequently find that overnight, Slacker which we access via our Tesla account) has removed 1 or more of our favorite stations. We can favorite them again from our Recent list but it's a pain. We've tried several things to prevent it from happening but have not been successful. Has...
Thanks. I know about the MacOS update notifications. My browser is Safari and as far as I know there is no setting in Safari's preferences that affects notifications. In my OSX Preferences I have this but while I have chosen "Alerts", Tesla notifications don't stay on the screen.
On my mac I receive notifications like this one from Apple that sticks around until I act on it.
I also receive notifications from this site, but they disappear on their own, often before I can read the full message. What do I need to do to have them stay longer?
I will soon be required to replace the grey decals on my car with new red ones (thank you DMV bureaucracy). How do I remove the existing ones without damaging the finish?
Yes I did mean 19, thank you! I'll see if I can get someone to change that. And yes they do have TPMS but I assumed that all Tesla tires did so I didn't mention it.
I'm located in San Jose, CA and I have 4 of the above for sale for $300 total. They have less than 4000 miles on them. One wheel and tire (shown in pictures) is scuffed from curb contact. Cash only.
