Quick control screen keeps popping up

I'm having the same issue of the settings/controls menu popping up without being touched. I can even see the controls icon change color slightly as if it's being pressed. This is on a 2017 100D w/ MCU2 upgrade. Do you know what part they replaced and are you able to share the cost of replacement?

Model S Cabin Heater Stopped Working

I kind of wish I’d done the PTC heater myself but oh well.

Model S Cabin Heater Stopped Working

Yup, I came to the same conclusion and had Tesla do it. Thx!

Model S Cabin Heater Stopped Working

Just had the heater go out on my 2017 Model S. Did you end up replacing the fuse and PTC heater yourself and, if so, is it possible to share what parts you used? thanks!

    Lowest Drag Cargo Box Suggestions?

I know it's been a long time, but how has your experience has been with the Inno 660? I have a Yakima Skybox 12 but I'm wondering if something lower profile would offer a little more range.

    Surround view limited

I've had the surround view limited error for as long as I've had V9. Error has stayed on across reboots and over 500 miles of driving. According to the support folks, it looks like one or both of the pillar cameras isn't working correctly. I'm setting up a service appointment to get one or both...

Model S range and interior update imminent?

Not taking anything away from your opinion, but I finished a 2000 mile road trip in early July and AP2.5 was amazing. Granted, you have to know the limitations and you have to keep paying attention but, at least for me, it was way less work than driving entirely manually. I did tend to disengage...

    Loaner program being eliminated?

I called the service center again this morning and they said they had a loaner all set for me which surprised me because no one had contacted me. In a twist of fate, I ended up with a brand new Model X P100D so now I’m not sure what to think. One thing I know for sure, tho, is I’m going to enjoy...

    Loaner program being eliminated?

My car was due for "annual" service (already up to 20k miles in 7 months) and I had an error with the cooling system while supercharging in 100F heat so I made an appointment for 7/11 at the Palo Alto service center (they had the earliest availability) and indicated that I wanted a loaner. When...

    Limited A/C and Battery Cooling

Thanks, I dropped the car off for service earlier this week but I'll definitely pay attention to that when supercharging in the future. If anyone's curious, this was the clicking I heard shortly before the error message appeared:
  11. C

    Limited A/C and Battery Cooling

Did you ever get to the bottom of that message? My car threw that same message shortly after supercharging when it was 99F outside. I heard some odd clicking (sounded like a relay toggling on/off) shortly before it appeared. Oddly enough, the message also went away the next day which i don’t...

    New vs Used Dilemma

I wouldn’t count on the CA state rebate as the program is out of money. Has to be refunded in order for rebates (other than those reserved for folks that qualify as low income) to pay out: Clean Vehicle Rebate Project

    Like-new 2017 Model S & Model Xs for sale or long-term rental/lease

I’m curious how that’s possible? How are you able to get cars for less than buying directly from another seller or from Tesla?
  16. C

    2016 Tesla Model S P100D

I’m potentially in the market but I think that price is too high. For example, here’s a new 2017 P100D that’s similalrly equipped (leather but no FSD) for $142,000 not including the tax rebate (or referral discout (for the next day)): New Inventory | Tesla

I think you need to copy the view spec url, not the picture url.
  18. C

[Web app] What does the option codes for your car mean?

You can put the VIN into the second field here: Tesla Options Decoder It’ll grab the option codes from the page on Tesla’s site (so it only works for VINs that are accessible there).

Free uncorking - WTF? Sign of autopilot dev trouble?

I assumed it was done for new cars to make the Model S 75 better positioned vs the Model 3. Maybe they then realized they could do it for existing cars and decided to just roll it out.

Model S range and interior update imminent?

I haven't heard anything about it having already happened so I expect it's still coming. Having a faster center display is one of the things I'd love to see before jumping in.

    Custom Order spec questions.

Yeah, it's hard to make sense of all of them. On the parking sensors, I think that used to be an option you could add to the car (this is before autopilot) so I think that's just an holdover from a long time ago. Probably a good thing to not have those installed :) You can find some history of...

Advice on Buying a CPO Model S

I drive about 35k miles a year and based on my calculations, I'll save about $350/mo (see attached). To save $600/mo on 22k miles, I think you'd have to be driving something really inefficient (e.g. 10 mpg) now or be paying a crazy high amount for gas. Even using free super charging for all of...

    BTX8 battery-code on a 75D... or is it a 85D

    Ah, I didn't check Model X's. I see one more in addition to 055845 and 055856 Model X 75D 5YJXCAE23HF059692 | Tesla All three have BTX7.
  34. C

    BTX8 battery-code on a 75D... or is it a 85D

I think there was speculation that BTX8 was the European code. Also, according to EV-CPO, that car (5YJXCAE23HF059692) is the only BTX7 car currently in new inventory. There have been 19, tho, that have had that code.

    Tracking bugs?

Yeah, I was talking about creating something offsite that would let people post new issues and vote for existing ones as a way of organizing / prioritizing the issues.

    Tracking bugs?

I don't even have my Tesla yet but it seems like there are a bunch of longstanding bugs that bother people. I think the best way to try and get them fixed is to keep track of them in one place, sorted by the number of people affected. I've been toying around with the idea of setting up a bug...

    Tracking bugs?

That thread is 1400 messages long spread over 5 years. My thinking is that if we could present Tesla with a sorted / prioritized list of things to fix (instead of a thread), it'd be more likely for those to be addressed.

    BTX8 battery-code on a 75D... or is it a 85D

  41. C

    S31B option code

You can find your link with the option codes by logging in to your "My Tesla" page on the Tesla Motors web site, right clicking on the image of your car, and selecting "Copy Image Address". Then you can paste the link into: http://tesla.whaleface.com
  42. C

    S31B option code

Hmm, from the option codes on Tesla's site, I think it's related to the multi-pattern seats (INBTB) or the black interior (IVBTB) as both of those options require S31B.
  43. C

    BTX8 battery-code on a 75D... or is it a 85D

I assume those codes "count" but it's a small number so doesn't tell you much other than that's what you picked.

    Any "wiggle room" with CPO?

You can check ev-cpo.com to see when a car was removed from the system (hit the current listings toggle to show archived listings). It's not a guarantee that a car was sold but could be interesting.
  45. C

75 and 75D variants increased performance from July 1st - software and hardware improvements?

I don't think the performance update is reflected in the option codes. I think it's more likely a firmware setting. The question is if it depends, in any way, on a hardware change that was done at some point.

New custom order 75D vs CPO 90D?

Unfortunately, without the online link to the 90D, we can't see the option codes and on new cars, they only give you a few codes: Tesla Model S Options Decoder I'm in the same boat as you: decided to buy a Tesla, just deciding between new or CPO. New custom order 75D vs CPO 90D?

If they're identical and the same price, the 90D. The trick is if they're actually "identical". Ask if there's a link to the cars online. If so, post them here or pm me and I'll tell you the options codes for the cars to compare them at a fine grained level.

    2017 Model S 75D

I don't think that's quite accurate. Your tax liability is the total amount you "owe" the federal government and it's independent of withholdings or prepayments. The EV credit reduces that amount by up to $7,500. If your tax liability is less than $7,500, you can only benefit up to your total...

75 and 75D variants increased performance from July 1st - software and hardware improvements?
