I would swing by a Tesla store and ask them if you can listen to one of the cars with the premium audio (I don't remember what it's called now). I just installed some Kicker speakers in our second car, and the Tesla still sounds much nicer than it. $100 speakers, assuming they are in good shape...

IIRC the premium sound package used to include storage for keeping songs. My car is from 2012 and has premium sound but doesn't have the option to keep music files on internal storage. I wonder if this storage was repurposed in one of the updates, at least in part to allow Slacker to resume songs.

Is there a resource that shares the gear ratio of each motor on the dual motor Model S? I'm wondering if the front motor has a longer ratio. I believe if it did it would help with high end speed and efficiency/range.

Accepting a loaner while they work out the issues MAY give them more incentive to work on the problems sooner, but since you've paid for a Tesla, push for a Tesla loaner until you get yours back. That's all I can think of to make you situation better.

I'm not sure, but on the early cars only the technology package cars got the HD camera, so maybe that's the difference.

Try downloading the app on your phone and changing settings there. There is a resume play on startup option. If that doesn't solve it, this may be due to the PUP theory.

I don't think it'll change demand all that much. Most people on the list know they won't be getting the full incentive.

I live in CA where it's required to have both plates, but I think I've seen only one Model S with the front plate. We have a fix it ticket system here where if you get a ticket for not having the plate you go to a police station to prove you fixed the issue and pay about $10.

If your budget agrees with the CPO P85D, I'd go with that because it'll have the smallest margin of lost resale value, while still being fun and having a reliable drive train. The only compromise is the shorter warranty and auto pilot hardware.

Mine is just an 85. The EPA rated range is 265, but Google shows 253, but I don't know where Google gets the number. If the Google number is accurate then I've only lost about 3.55%, which isn't bad.

Thanks for that. I checked and the 244 at 100% was "rated" while "ideal" shows 262 miles at 90% charge. Does anyone here remember what "rated" number their 85 showed at 100% charge when it was new?

I've been wondering this as well. I have an 85 with almost 70k miles, and at 100% charge the estimated range showed 244 miles. When the car was new did it show the EPA estimated 265 miles, or some other number?
