Like BCCA above, my service appt. only took about 35-40 minutes.

    Pyro Fuse Fuss

2017 Model S 75D Received alert BMS_u031 to replace battery fuse a week or so ago. Made service appt. and received an estimate of $280. Took it in today and was told the repair was covered under the battery warranty. No charge.

App shows car as parked even when car is being driven.

I’m experiencing the same thing—shows parked while being driven. I suspect a bug in the app. Hopefully it will be fixed soon.

    Supercharger - Tempe, AZ

I was there late afternoon on the day before Thanksgiving. After reading these posts I was dreading the line I would find on such a heavy travel day. On the way there the nav kept saying “short wait” and then “medium wait,” but, when I arrived, there were three empty spots. Sometimes you get lucky.

    Supercharger - Yuma, AZ

Not true now. I was at Yuma this afternoon. None of the new units were running. One or two of the older chargers were down as well. It was a mess. I got there just in time. At one point three cars were waiting.

    Tinting

I used Affordable Window Tinting on Grant. That was four years ago. No problems.

    MCU2 Benefits

Not true. I have a 2017 S75D. Originally FSD/HW2/MCU1. Upgraded to HW3/MCU2. I now have Sentry/Dashcam recording with notifications. No new cameras needed. Note though that front and side cameras are not full color. (Probably best described as washed out color.) Rear camera is full color. Later...

    Supercharger - Socorro, NM

I’ve driven Albuquerque to TorC a number of times in my 75D. Usually not a problem, but once I did arrive with only 8% due to a headwind. You’ll probably be fine.

    Supercharger - Albuquerque NM

I have driven I25 a number of times and used the Albuquerque supercharger. While it is strategically located to serve both I25 and I40, it can be a hassle to reach due to heavy traffic. It is located in the small parking lot of an Applebees restaurant and has only six stalls. Now apparently...

    Supercharger - Shelby, IA

Yes, as I recall, the building is designed to look like an old fashioned red barn.
  11. B

    Supercharger - Shelby, IA

Just an FYI. I went through Shelby today. The gas station where the Superchargers are located is closed for remodeling, but the chargers are working. For food service and restrooms you’ll have to cross over to Loves on the other side of the interstate.

    Supercharger - Las Cruces, NM

Yes, I agree that with Deming and El Paso superchargers in place, Las Cruces would be nice but is not really necessary. I also agree that Socorro, NM is necessary. It has been "coming soon" for a number of years. I have driven between Albuquerque and T or C a number of times without a problem...

    IRO DashCam - Model S AP2 unboxing

Thanks. In your pictures it looks closer to the color of my car than in many other pictures I’ve seen. The variations probably result from varied lighting when the pictures are taken.

    IRO DashCam - Model S AP2 unboxing

Question about color match.... I am thinking of getting one of these, but I note in the pictures on the net that the IRO dash cam appears to be medium to light gray. The mirror housing on my S 75D (AP2) is very dark gray, probably black. I know that colors in pictures on the net can be...

Where did my 75D's acceleration go?

Look at your speedometer. If it's in "Chill" the word CHILL will appear in small, faint letters above the number indicating your current speed. Can't say why you can't switch between standard and chill. Seems strange.

Where did my 75D's acceleration go?

    is it in "Chill" mode?

    Supercharger - Sheridan, WY

Huh? I think I may have inadvertantly looked at this thread, but there’s nothing I disagree with. I have no knowledge of or opinion about the matters of which you wrote. Looks like I was able to remove the “disagree.” Don’t know how it happened.

    Supercharger - Flagstaff, AZ

I agree. I have been to many, many superchargers and the Flagstaff SC was probably the hardest to find. As mentioned, the nav system does not give clear directions and once you figure out that it's at the Marriott and drive up that narrow, twisty drive, it's not obvious that you have to turn...

Supercharger - Tucson, AZ - E. Skyline Drive (La Encantada Mall)

Tesla is having an event at La Encantada tomorrow and Saturday. I’m guessing they’ll want to have it operational by then so they can show it off to people taking test drives and to answer the inevitable question, “But where can I charge it?”

    Antelope Canyon - From Flagstaff

I drove Flagstaff to Page (both directions) last May in my S 75D (highway 89). It was part of a longer trip from Tucson to the Seattle area via Utah, Idaho, and Oregon. I don't recall any specifics of energy usage, but I didn't experience any range anxiety or need to slow down in order to make...

    "Cross-interference" between 2 garaged Teslas

Yep, what MorrisonHiker said. I've seen this also. When our local supercharger opened our club had a ribbon cutting ceremony. There were a dozen or more Teslas parked near the charging stalls. Whenever someone went to charge, the charge ports on cars parked nearby would pop open.

    charging stations

I've done three long road trips this summer, and, yes, this can be a problem. Finding the Superchargers can be difficult, especially in large, busy shopping centers, but in other places as well. I've learned to prepare. When driving an ICE you can usually be confident that if you pull off at an...

Just picked up my Model S. How do I find out if update downloaded?

That’s the latest software for the S (as far as I know). I received it yesterday. So your car downloaded and installed the latest without you being aware. In general, don’t worry about it. The car takes care of itself pretty well, and tells you when there is a problem.
  25. B

Just picked up my Model S. How do I find out if update downloaded?

Your car checks for updates and downloads them in the background over WiFi or the cell phone network. You will get a notice that an update is available on the center console. That means the update has already been downloaded and is ready to install. You will be given the option of setting a time...

Supercharger - Tucson, AZ - E. Skyline Drive (La Encantada Mall)

I was in the area this afternoon, so I drove by to check out this site. It's on the western edge of the upper parking lot. I expected it to be adjacent to the existing L2 chargers, but it's not very far from them. I think this location at the edge of a busy parking lot, rather in the center...

Supercharger - Tucson, AZ - E. Skyline Drive (La Encantada Mall)

You guys just don’t understand. This is not where you charge your Tesla if you are driving from LA to El Paso. This is where you charge your Tesla while you are shopping at Tiffany’s. :)
  28. B

Supercharger - Tucson, AZ - E. Skyline Drive (La Encantada Mall)

Those of us in Tucson who follow this sort of thing heard several months ago that this might be coming. The interesting thing to me is that this location has never appeared as a “coming soon” on Tesla’s supercharger map. I wonder how many other surprises we are in for? This will surely be an...

Tucson to Holbrook Supercharger via Showlow- Anybody tried it in an S85?

I almost did it in the other direction in my S75D. The car nav said I could get from Holbrook to Tucson via Showlow and the Salt River Canyon. When I got to Globe it looked like I probably had enough charge left to get to Tucson, but I chickened out and headed to the Casa Grande SC. When in...

    Gallup to Albuquerque in X90D

I've done Albuquerque to Gallup several times in both directions, but I was driving an S75D and it was summer. Always made it with no problems. I can't remember what I arrived with, but I'm the type of guy who tries for a 20% buffer. I imagine cold weather will be the biggest factor affecting...

Are Next Gen seats causing seat belt fitting issues?

You could also try these: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B004HMBK5G/ I'm 5'5" and I use one. Just a plastic device and pretty simple, but not perfect. Not very expensive, so if you don't like it, you haven't invested a lot.

I think it will get a lot more use once Willcox and Deming are open.

Just placed order for MS 75

Use evtripplanner.com and/or supercharge.info to pick out the superchargers where you will stop to charge as you drive home. You really have to know where your charging stops are ahead of time. The nav system in the car will do this for you. Have them demonstrate this when you pick up the car...

Santa Rosa/ Albuquerque/ Gallup winter trip advice

I did Albuquerque to Gallup twice this summer in my S 75D. No problem at all, and I think I arrived with about 20% left. Of course cold weather and snow will make a big difference. But if the weather isn't too bad and you are prepared to take all the recommended precautions (should they be...

    Supercharger - Tucson, AZ

Local rumors have a second Tucson Supercharger at La Encantada Mall. Further north and more upscale than Tucson Mall. That's where the Apple Store is, and, if Tesla ever opens a Tucson gallery, that's where I would expect it to be. This is pretty far from any freeway exit though. If this...

Auto present handles- What's the smart approach?

Correct. Actually my wife and I each have our own driving profiles to set up the seat, steering, etc. to our requirements which we select when we get into the driver's seat. I guess so. I think this feature was added after I got my car. I've never looked into it, and what I've got works well...

    Supercharger - Tucson, AZ

Shows up on my nav as well; 10 of 10 stalls available. Wasn't there last night.
  38. B

Auto present handles- What's the smart approach?

Because the car was not locked. You don't need the fob to enter an unlocked car. You do, of course, need the fob in order to start it and drive it. Sorry to hear about your door handle.
  39. B

Auto present handles- What's the smart approach?

I'm not good at estimating distances, but I'd guess the fob was about 20 feet from the car. Plus signals would have had to pass through three walls, one of which is concrete block. I tried this again. I placed the fob at the farthest point away in the house and waited several minutes. Then I...

Auto present handles- What's the smart approach?

Nope. I just went out to the car. It sat in the garage all night. Fob was in the house. Touched the door handle. It presented. Opened the door. Definitely not locked.
  41. B

Auto present handles- What's the smart approach?

I solved this problem with two profiles on the driver profile screen. One is called "exit" and one is "park." When I pull into my garage I select "exit." This lowers the seat, moves it back, and raises the steering wheel--all to make it easier to exit the car. This profile does not include walk...

    Supercharger - Tucson, AZ

The layout here is unusual with the staggered chargers meant to be approached from both sides of the island. I hope the stalls are clearly marked. I can seesomeone coming here for the first time, backing in and then realizing they should be on the other side. Or at least I can see me doing that...

    Supercharger - Tucson, AZ

I have heard the same rumor and agree it sounds credible. However a second Tucson SC does not appear on Tesla's latest map of future SC's. (Several new ones showed up for next year in Phoenix.) Perhaps all the legal and financial arrangements haven't been completed--at least that's what I'm hoping.

    Supercharger - Tucson, AZ

Don't think so. In an earlier picture posted last week by ahm you can see the SC pedestals (or whatever thet're called) lined up in a storage unit. They are the type we are used to seeing at SCs. I think the new design announced today is meant to be used in the urban SCs as they are smaller and...

    Supercharger - Flagstaff, AZ

I was at the Flagstaff SC today. There is construction underway in the Marriott parking lot next to the existing SCs. There is no Tesla equipment evident, but it sure looks like more SCs are being installed.

    Supercharger - Willcox, AZ

First time posting here.....I have some news for whatever it's worth. I just returned from a long road trip (Arizona to Minnesota) in my model S. On the way out, among the many SC's we stopped at was the one at Gothenburg, NE. There was another Tesla parked, but I didn't notice anyone in or...
