I can't find where to post info on the new/second Vista Supercharger location, but I just learned of one at 78/Sycamore near Target. It's next to Michael's right along the 78 freeway fence. I went by and counted 20 of them. Sorry if I'm missing the correct thread and this is old news!
Model 3 with version 2.5 computer exposes the rear view camera at night real well. My wife's Model 3 has this setup and it looks great. It's pretty trivial for a digital camera to adjust exposure at night and/or for a display to do the same, unless the software simply isn't written to do it. As...
They tried to work with the other mall a few years ago. What I heard from someone at the city (as I recall) - because the land is owned by the city and the mall leases it, things got complicated which made it not very attractive to move forward.
A lot of people have been looking forward to this one. Lots of camping, hiking, recreation in the state park and wilderness areas out here which was hard to do with any amount of driving around. The location is a great crossroads to run to for essentials. I have a feeling the Rivian network will...
If you're talking about whether using kW or mph is a better practice, using kW is more clear. If people want to add what model and year their car is, even better.
Well, it's been a year now and no change. I asked my local SC recently and got the run around, no credible information about any fix. I asked for their ticket number used to reference the exposure issue. If we all can reference the specific item by number, maybe it can move up the list.
I just got HW3 upgrade today and noticed this issue tonight. Hard to believe it hasn't been addressed or even acknowledged by Tesla. Our other Model 3 doesn't have HW3 and the backup camera is clearly brighter and better as others have experienced. Here's a shot from each car with fixed manual...
My car always updates pretty promptly but wasn't for some reason, stuck on 12 like you. I drove by the service center and parked up front in range of the wifi. It took 15 minutes to get the download. I got 16.3.2 last Friday and 20.1 today.
Have any mid range owners seen supercharging speeds above 110 kWh (or 120 kW with more recent software)? I just ran across info about Standard range being capable of only 102 kW and made me wonder if there is a similar limitation on MR.
I've used this location 10 or 12 times and have had to wait (not long) twice. Could be they're anticipating increased usage based on sales. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Strange the Tesla website and supercharge.info still show 20 stalls.
I was thinking at times when there is a wait, the valet could honor the priority queuing which would be as follows where residents of the following communities rank in order:
1. La Costa - because they live the closest so it's like 'theirs' to begin with
2. Aviara - don't care that it's nicer...
Speaking of mobs of locals charging for free... I agree with Tesla's decision to allow free charging on high end models, but oh wow, the consequences. With some foresight, they might offered unlimited free charging at all sites more than 75-100 miles from home (and vacation homes!) or near home...
...not to mention Broken Yolk, Thai food, taco shop and Gelson's grocery store, which is probably better than a movie theater/mall parking lot where people might overstay and is less likely to be iced for sure.
Apparently, the city owns the parking lot land at the Carlsbad mall location, but the mall owner has to agree to have the superchargers. No idea if this is has anything to do with the delay.
I would guess the owner of the other location (La Costa) is much more accommodating. As someone else...
All I could see was electrical boxes and assumed they were to serve the charging station. I heard from a friend at the city they were talking about installing at this end of the mall parking lot. The actual Superchargers may not be there yet. I have no idea.
There is a shipping/storage container at the corner of Marron Rd and El Camino with what looks like electrical boxes on top - the kind you see feeding a building or charging station. As I recall, this area of the parking lot can get busy with the movie theater and restaurants pretty close by...
