Safety Score disappeared from the app

Do you really need the camera upgrade? I have a March 2018 Model 3 (RWD LR, premium everything); it got the free upgrade for the computer (2.5 -> 3.0), but has its original cameras. I got the FSD Beta with no problem (well, apart from driving for 3 weeks like a 120yr old in hibernation ;-) Of...

    No Safety Score

Must be a bug. I've had the Beta for several months, app always showed the safety score across successive Beta versions, but the entry on the app disappeared about a week ago. Still have the Beta, though, so it does not seem related to safety status.

    2020.36.11

Enjoy! (Hint: I've had my Model 3 for over 2.5yrs, so after 35-40 upgrades, it seems just normal -- in fact, the reverse happens: if you don't get one for a month, you start thinking Tesla has forgotten about you ;-)

    2020.28.6

Sorry to let you know that's also true for me with 28.6 on my Model 3 with HW 3.0 (upgraded from 2.5 a couple of weeks ago) -- no sign of any traffic lights (and I rechecked my settings several times: all the "beta" features are enabled). No stop signs visible either.

    AutoSteer limited to 50 mph

Hey, any of you guys on the continent are a big leg up on us poor schmucks on the neighbor islands of Hawaii... ;-) I live on the Big Island and my Model 3 has never once, in the 5.5mos I've had it, displayed any speed limit, on any road, under any circumstances. So no Autosteer (at least no...

    Speed limit not being recognized

Actually, if AP cannot get a speed limit confirmed with the Tesla mothership, it does not show any speed limit and EAP then limits speed to 45mph. You can go faster than 45mph and still have oversteer, but you must accelerate the car beyond the 45mph it will otherwise maintain -- and having to...

Autopilot limited to 45 around Kailua Kona

It's not just around Kailua-Kona. Anywhere on the Big Island is the same thing, even on the freshly completed new Daniel Inouye highway, where the speed limit is 60mph. It looks like the database does not include any speed limits for any road on the Big Island. We can hope that version 9 of...

Am I crazy? No Home/Work Charger

It's not a misconception. The Tesla manual itself states that fast DC charging, including using Tesla's own superchargers, degrades the battery faster than slower charging (typically through the on-board AC converter). *How much* degradation is the issue and there the experience of users seems...

Am I crazy? No Home/Work Charger

I second that. Supercharging is very expensive in the long run: (i) the rate charged is at least twice (in many placed 3 times) what you'd get from your utility and (ii) as pointed out, any fast charging accelerates the slow degradation of the battery.

Neighbor buys Tesla Model S. Neighbor installs HPWC. Neighnor sell Tesla...

That's not required -- the install requires a licensed electrician, but anyone can turn off the breaker and disconnect the wires and it takes all of 5mins to do that, even for an HPWC. The electrician cost will be to install the 14-50 or HPWC (same cost, as it will be 4-ga wire in either case...

Neighbor buys Tesla Model S. Neighbor installs HPWC. Neighnor sell Tesla...

If all you use the car for is commuting, then no need to change your plan. Otherwise, I'd go for it. 110V charging is crazy slow and supercharging shortens battery life (as per Tesla's own instructions); HPWC is the ideal medium: fast enough to allow you to charge to max overnight for a one-day...

Reverse made my car go forward...

I had that happen to me in both directions (going back when I wanted to go forward and going forward when I wanted to go backwards); I worked on repeating the effect and found the cause, or at least a cause. You simply need to put enough "gas" right away. Once the "hold" (parking break)...

Three weeks and my biggest disapointment in the Model 3...

Mine are at 45psi as well, on 18" Aeros. Ride is just fine, but not luxury-sedan style, more 2-door sports coupe style -- and roads where I live are often pretty rough (Hawaii outer island, many roads are patchworks of repairs, with sunken areas). Taking it on dirt/gravel roads was definitely...

Do you get anything for free or gift cards when you take delivery?

Re: miniature Model 3: They still are -- a little box in the center console, holding a not very detailed model, about 4" long, of the Model 3 in the color ordered (but wheels are generic, looking like neither the 18" nor the 19"); true at least up to 6/22/18, when I took delivery of my red Model...

EAP - would you miss it if you didn’t have it?

I picked one of the yes answers, even though none really fit. The adaptive cruise control is already excellent -- I can be a little bit smoother in slowing down with regen than the EAP, but not by a lot, and the only other problem I've seen in several hundred miles of driving so far is one case...

    Pictures of production Model 3s

Actually, I think they look great with the red; the problem, as noted earlier, is that the chrome around the windows, which looks very good with the 19" wheels, clashes with the dark grey of the 18" wheels -- except on the white and silver models, where the chrome does not stand out as much.

    Pictures of production Model 3s

The visuals in the picture remain misleading, in spite of the excellent centering; with phone camera at fairly close range, the extra 10" to the M3 really matter; in addition, the M3 is all black, thus looking smaller than it really is, whereas the MS has those aggressive fog lights as well as...

    21" Tire Replacements (Hawaii)

Any chance of convincing Tesla to ship cars to Hawaii with summer tires instead of AS tires? I'll drive my OEM tires (on my forthcoming M3) before switching, but I'd much prefer starting with the correct type.
