Raven Performance in Europe - only hits 140 kW for few minutes, 92 kW for the rest

Adapter was limited to 142kW but the limit was lifted to 192kW already over a year ago.

    Aging of 90d vs 75d

Yes but only when it was new. The end result is that both packs are almost equal after 2-3 years of use and age similarly after that.

    2020 model x vs refresh

I have a late 2020 X and tried the new one yesterday. I liked the interior less than the old one in real life. While it looks great in the renderings, it feels very cheap in real life. The screen is also much smaller than it looks in the renderings. The only obvious plus i could see was the...

Refreshed Model X Falcon Wing Door (FWD) will not open properly

My car had the same issue and Tesla couldn't solve it, they literally gave up. 4mo ago one parking sensor that had been giving errors failed completely. After replacing that the door has been working fine. Unreal.

    75D MX 2017 only has 60kwh available

75D got '64kWh used' at best when it was brand new on that display. It doesn't count all energy so 60kWh is a normal reading from a used car. It's the same with equally old 100D. It's hard to get it to show readings over '80kWh used' by now. As new the best it was able to do was 88 or so.

    Who has a 2020 or a 2021 Raven Performance?

X is great, really can't complain about anything beyond Tesla itself as a company. My car was shoddily painted at the factory and had to be repainted here, but now the paint thickness in the left wing door is such that the sensors see ghosts randomly and Tesla does nothing..

    2020 371m vs 2022 348m??

Speed is irrelevant (both are plenty fast enough) and the range is a lie from Tesla side - and lowballed estimate from polestar, actual rating hasn't been done yet. Check the insideevs range tests, all 110kWh pack cars out there already beat LRX range hands down. As I said, this can be seen...

    2020 371m vs 2022 348m??

It's not that much slower, if at all. Certainly slower than the plaid but 4.8s to 100km/h is fast enough for me (same as my current 10/2020 X). Range should actually be better in real life. It just has less EPA number game. WLTP range is 620km vs 565 in my current long range ++. The plaid X...

    2020 371m vs 2022 348m??

The new Xs smaller battery was enough of a reason for me to order a polestar 3 instead. It has 110kWh pack.

Tesla Model X 2020 long range plus battery Reduction

They probably gamed the numbers bit too far with the 351/370 initially and relaxed the lies a bit. I doubt it's anything real, they are just massaging the numbers.

    '18 X100D - HV battery replacement

Yes, now it can make the charging worse by heating less as the V2 may not need it. The charging certainly should not have improved, the thing that improved was the efficiency while driving towards the charger.

MX PLAID WAIT FOR 2023 MODEL YEAR?

You guys forget now that for the past 2 years Tesla has actually had model years. Not sure if it's a coincidence or not but significant changes have occurred exactly as the year changes (3/Y).
  13. J

    Model X noise poll

I did the same. I even pointed out to technician that 'squeeze here and the rattle goes away' but no. The car came back with the exact same rattle as it doesn't happen everywhere, all the time.
  14. J

    Model X noise poll

The problem is that it is pointless to take the car to Tesla because of rattles, they are not going to find them in a hurry. They just don't care enough anymore. These days it's almost all about making money and showing customer the middle finger after the delivery.

    2022 X PLAID - Poor Range Performance Help: Getting 50 - 77% of EPA 311 miles

Check the monroney sticker. Efficiency went up, range went down, compared to the earlier model. The only logical cause was the smaller pack. The Tesla Daily podcast was the first where I heard about it and at that time the delta was believed to be around 4kWh based on the numbers / pack...

    2022 X PLAID - Poor Range Performance Help: Getting 50 - 77% of EPA 311 miles

Yes out of which 4kWh is under the 0% SOC. Still usable, but you need some guts to really use it. My 2020/10 LR showed 99.5kWh as new.
  17. J

2022 Tesla Model X LR Range Test (Out of Spec)

I'd guess the 2020/2021 'legacy' model x would perform about the same. It has bit more battery and about the same efficiency.

    2022 X PLAID - Poor Range Performance Help: Getting 50 - 77% of EPA 311 miles

It was all over the news when the plaid came out, the pack is smaller now. Rest like the capacity under the zero you can test yourself.
  19. J

    2022 X PLAID - Poor Range Performance Help: Getting 50 - 77% of EPA 311 miles

The plaid X has 92kWh or so usable, less than it used to be. Out of that 5kWh is basically below the zero (you can still use it, but you have to take the car below zero), so the range you see on the screen is based on 87kWh of usable energy. Note that this is when the car is brand new and well...

    Model X Supercharging curves, 2022

It's better than the G/H pack 06/2020 but much less so, they probably have even more legroom to make it faster over time. G/H maintain speeds over 150kW up to 47% and 100kW up to 68%. At 47% the drop to 100kW is sudden though (a single step), so if the new one goes down gradually it's indeed...

Raven Performance in Europe - only hits 140 kW for few minutes, 92 kW for the rest

The CCS adapter now peaks at 185kW: https://driveteslacanada.ca/news/tesla-increases-charging-speeds-for-model-s-and-model-x-owners-in-europe-2022-24/? So it was official. Awesome.
  22. J

    Model X Supercharging curves, 2022

Looks like a cooling issue, at least my 10/2020 maintains the max rate (150kW in the EU) up to 47% when properly warm. Yours is the F pack and it does have more cooling issues than G/H due to the wiring thickness but I have seen people do better than that with much older cars.
  23. J

    Model X Supercharging curves, 2022

My 2020/10 is handicapped at the low end by the ccs adapter but actually looks similar. 150kW is maintained up to 47% from which it drops to 100kW and that is maintained until 68%.

Raven Performance in Europe - only hits 140 kW for few minutes, 92 kW for the rest

Interesting: some people are now posting pictures of Xs charging at 160kW+ with the CCS adapter that used to max out at 142kW. Hope it's not a bug and the adapter limit has been increased.
  25. J

Raven Performance in Europe - only hits 140 kW for few minutes, 92 kW for the rest

One of the recent updates improved even further, now the 142kW is kept up to 47%.

Everything wrong with V11 update / user interface.

My remaining gripes about the v11: music search button is too small and too close to the audio controls, I hit the wrong button way too often. Media player is still a mess, I have no idea how to actually choose the next podcast in sequence for example. Tidal client is likely bound to single...

Raven Performance in Europe - only hits 140 kW for few minutes, 92 kW for the rest

Still few weeks ago with older release I saw it do this drop to 100kW at 33%. It did hold that 100kW nicely up to 68%, so it wasn't that big of a deal but now it seems fully back to where it was. Happy, this is indeed fast enough given that this thing has nice range.
  28. J

Raven Performance in Europe - only hits 140 kW for few minutes, 92 kW for the rest

My cars charging curve was back to the one it was as new yesterday. 142kW up to 42%, 120kW at 49%, 100kW at 68% and 73kW at 80kW. Plenty fast enough, no nerfing. Good 120kW average for the session.
  29. J

    '18 X100D - HV battery replacement

No the new charging curve is like that, the gradual drop to 100kW at 66% is history. It was probably changed because the plaid has to look just a bit better. The fan is not running with newer packs as they just work better and don't hear up that badly.

    2018 Model X 75D battery deg

I guess trading it to a different one would probably be the cheapest option :-/. Someone only hauling kids around town will still be happy with yours.

Raven Performance in Europe - only hits 140 kW for few minutes, 92 kW for the rest

Ah, I had one of those before. 40kWh in 28 minutes or so and then it dries up pretty bad. Funny that the btx5 works much better in the X than in the S.
  32. J

Raven Performance in Europe - only hits 140 kW for few minutes, 92 kW for the rest

    31kWh in 20min? I did 70kWh in 40min, as seen above.
  33. J

Raven Performance in Europe - only hits 140 kW for few minutes, 92 kW for the rest

Yeah. Section between 33-50% is still slower, otherwise it's as good as it was. 4kW drop from the max speeds yesterday can easily by explained by the winter as some energy goes to the heating.
  34. J

Raven Performance in Europe - only hits 140 kW for few minutes, 92 kW for the rest

I stand corrected, my X is still good. I just did a long drive in freezing temps and it behaved good, charging 71kWh in 41mins, averaging over 100kW. 137kW@25%, 98kW@63%, 65kW@80%. For freezing temps this is quite good.

    v11 software update SUCKS

BTW my *most used* button on the touch screen is the defogger in both of our cars (LRX, LR3). While the car normally doesn't fog up when starting to drive long distance and its properly preheated in advance, it always fogs up pretty fast when doing stop-and-go when it's freezing out. Quite often...

    v11 software update SUCKS

Ioniq 5 and the sibling EV6 are a no-go here in the north due to the issues with heating and battery thermal management during the winter. A very old Tesla travels faster than that during the winter months. Mercedes, once again, shines here. It's the only car that seems to pass the 'navigation...

    v11 software update SUCKS

I don't think they will, they prioritize the production efficiency for the next 10 years or so and that comes with issues. I don't blame them for this, the planet needs it. Tesla is the only vendor that can ship A LOT OF EVs. Reason why I'm looking at the MB is not directly v11 related, but...

    v11 software update SUCKS

I honestly think EQS/EQE have better or equal range than the '400mi epa' MS in real life. Tesla is just very good in gaming the EPA numbers to look shiny. While the WLTP is in general more optimistic for most cars and gives higher readings, it's better for comparisons as it doesn't allow anyone...

    v11 software update SUCKS

I have a Mercedes EQE reservation done as a backup if they don't revert this crap by then. Audi's look way too much like 'transformers' toys to me but Mercedes EQE + AWD + Hyperscreen is clean looking and efficient enough to qualify.

    v11 software update SUCKS

I’m just fully unable to use that slider. The only way i manage is accidentally when attempting to pause or something. Unbelievable how moronic. Same with the tiny defog/defrost/temp popup. I don’t know how to bring it up just to defog without going back and forth with the temp setting. Just...

Extremely Disappointed With Model S Range When Driving on the Highway at 35F

Those are mostly cost savings and manufacturing improvements. Good stuff but not really very relevant for the end user.

Extremely Disappointed With Model S Range When Driving on the Highway at 35F

Teslas EPA numbers are a joke. I’d be really surprised if the ’400mi epa’ model S ever went further than the ’350mi epa’ mercedes eqs. EPA numbers are open for gamlng.

    v11 software update SUCKS

Entirely agree, amazing how much worse it is. I have to also say that I have never, ever, seen worse media player and I have been using these since they became a thing mid 90s. Just a simple thing like choosing the next podcast ( << >> ) is a hilarious button dance. It never remembers where it...

    v11 software update SUCKS

Yeah and just about any mobile phone runs the browser much better than the MCU2. The real issue is that what you see running in Teslas is the open source chromium. It's not very well optimized and the code maintenance from Teslas side is near zero. It takes much more than just rebuilding effort...
  45. J

Raven Performance in Europe - only hits 140 kW for few minutes, 92 kW for the rest

They have seen similar use and have probably been charged even more than the Teslas due to lower range, at higher rate. All of them are still going as well as the new ones, don't buy the tesla superfan fud. There are things where Tesla just does poorly and this constant BMS adjustment is one of...
  46. J

Raven Performance in Europe - only hits 140 kW for few minutes, 92 kW for the rest

Heh. Their best intention is to sell you a car and advertise it can charge at 250kW, like it was said about my X. Then they deliver it for 3 months in the US and take it away and never deliver anything in the EU. All 3 of my friends that bought Xs thought they are buying a car that can charge at...
  47. J

Raven Performance in Europe - only hits 140 kW for few minutes, 92 kW for the rest

I think that they indeed crippled the speed compared to last summer, now it holds 142kW only up to 33%, compared to 43% last summer. 67% used to be the 100kW point and now that hits after 50%. 70% is at 70kW and this is already almost the same it was and everything after it as well.

    v11 software update SUCKS

Slightly off-topic, but there is currently no way to get rid of Elon unless he decides to go himself as he is still by far the largest Tesla shareholder. It's pretty likely that hes not going anywhere as he also considers himself to be invaluable, almost semi-god like person who no-one can...

    v11 software update SUCKS

He used to be, now he just doesn't care as the money is not an issue anymore. He has muted effectively everyone from twitter that does not do full-time FSD or stock price praising. Real and honest feedback doesn't seem to be of interest. I'm not at all sure he even cares about the products at...

Raven Performance in Europe - only hits 140 kW for few minutes, 92 kW for the rest

For E pack that graph looks about right. G and F used to get 142kW (chargers point of view) up to 45% and gradually drop to 100kW at 66%. Looks to me G and F have been downgraded to that same curve after the plaid was released. That said, your pack was too cold to hit proper speeds in the...
