Ditto. My adaptor showed signs of overheating a few days ago @ 69 amps. Try limiting your charging current to 30 amps or so until this thing can be fixed. I will try to resolve this. Later.....

Should put a note on the charger saying to inspect the connector before use. These connectors do have a connect - disconnect lifetime. The charger is owned and maintained by Tesla and the service person is Theo Howe of Howe Electric. He won't do any work without a PO from Tesla.

I think the GPS location on the intro page is off a little. It points to the staging area. The actual chargers will most likely be along the fence line centered at 34.428833 -119.873350. That long area that is fenced off with no digging going on (yet).

I am very suspicious of that map and the placement of the pin. The area between Big 5 and Ross is a solid line of stores. The map pin is smack in the middle of a (not shown) store. The parking on the frontage road is constantly full and the worst place in that lot for a charger. I know that...

Just an FYI; I visited the Super Charger at the Mirmar in Santa Barbara Monday. I was told that it is done and is charging cars, BUT is only for the use of paying guests of the facility. I did not see it myself, but was assured by the staff that it was a super charger and that it is on line...

That charger actually maxes out at 16.3 Kw, or 69 amps @ 236 volts under load. I have dual onboard chargers so it's capable of 80 amps. I get a 50-51 mph. charge rate there. I also have 40 amps available at home, but rarely use it.

I should have mentioned that I also had an error message that said "driver convenience functions unavailable". I tried dozens of times to plug in, even with 30 miles of range shown. The error message went away after a full overnight charge at home.

Try it out first. The charger requires a good sine wave input, which the Honda has. Also, the neutral and ground pin have to be connected together in order for it to work.

I have found in the past that this S/C will report occupancy when there is none, because there is a problem with a bank of units. I was there one time and saw this, when one unit had tape on it, it reported that the whole side down.

What's going on at Oxnard? I stoped in there to charge today and found an area of ~18 slots fenced off with a fork lift inside. It sure looks like something is going to happen there. Check out the photos:

I think that whole side is down. I was there yesterday and the map said there were 12 spaces available but there were only 2 cars there. That leaves 10 offline, and that whole side is 10 chargers.

I charged there again June 12 and the IHOP was still being renovated. Was told "several weeks to go".

My car map just said 15 of 24 are available, so it's being christened quite promptly!

Charged there on the 9th. I was the only one, so no waiting. I went there because I wanted to have lunch at the IHOP, but it's closed for renovations. I was told it has been closed for about a month, but it is expected to be back in business by the end of April.

Exactly what I now pay for my loaded 85D. Went from $650 (Prius) to $1,100 for Tesla, $1k deductible. Not too bad since the Tesla is worth about 10X the Tesla. Been with Farmers now for 40 years.

Be careful when going downhill right after a full charge. The dynamic braking is very restricted under those conditions, so you will be relying mostly on the mechanical brakes.

Now, Now... Be nice. The poor guy was just dreaming of how nice it would be to have a real car. I have a picture of my old Prius parked at the Tejon Ranch S/C with the plug appearing to be stuck into the gas tank. Couldn't take it any more. Finally bought an 85D.

Teslas web site says there are S/C's planned for Swartz Creek (near Flint), Clare, downtown Detroit, and Mackinaw City.... Looks like I'll have to move back to Michigan! I was at Ludington's S/C a few weeks ago. Nary a car in sight. All to myself. Ludington's page does not have the option to...
