Phoenix Heat + Powerwalls = shortened Lifespan?

So it’s generally known that high temperatures can drastically reduce a rechargeable battery’s “max cycle” count. With the recent heat wave and temps easily exceeding 110 F continuously for over three weeks (and more to come), is there any reason to be optimistic that the powerwalls installed...

Unable to use sentry remote viewer despite having necessary hardware and software

Why did Tesla decide to not make this available to all the pre 2021 refresh Model S/X ? At least to those with MCU 2 and FSD computer 3.0??? Is it because they are some of the initial Tesla owners and the ones with lifetime premium connectivity?

No more kW in energy widget

Since the refresh MS does not have an energy graph, they are making the graph less useful on the older cars to avoid the refresh models from appearing feature gimped.

KW markings have vanished from energy gauge on Instrument Cluster

2017 Model S here. Please see the attached picture to understand what I’m talking about. The numbers indicating the power have vanished.l from that gauge. This happened recently. Perhaps after a software update. I did upgrade my MCU a month back but the problem was not there at that time after...

$175 "diagnosis fee" on warranty work?

Can someone please point out where in the warranty is it mentioned that NVH issues would only be covered for the first 12,000 miles? I read through the warranty and don’t see that. I have a 2017 Model S. Did they introduce this change after 2017? If so, should the original warranty, during...

$175 "diagnosis fee" on warranty work?

I’m in a similar boat. I’ve gone through this entire thread and also got a good feel for those who are and aren’t in favor of Tesla ripping off their customers by charging this fees. To them, unless they are posturing, I have one message - don’t be a doormat- demand more in life and stand up...

Contemplating legal action - MCU1 issues

Can you clarify what you mean by come with HW 3.0 FSD? I have a late 2017 S (AP 2.5) and don’t think it has the HW 3.0 FSD.. I believe if I pay $5000 for the FSD upgrade then Tesla would upgrade my FSD computer to 3.0. Is that not right?

    Arizona Powerwall Installs

How many tons are the two ACs and what are their seer ratings? How many kw is your solar panel? Assuming your total tonnage is about 7 and you have a relatively modern AC, when the AC runs you may consume about 8KW of power. If you pre cool the home before peak hours and bump the temperature up...

    Arizona Powerwall Installs

Has anyone placed powerwalls inside their homes? Per Tesla if these are installed in environment where average temps are higher than 86 degrees then it could affect longevity and performance. Problem is that since these are relatively new, we still won’t have data wrt longevity while placed...

    Thinking of going solar

Hi! I’m in AZ with SRP utility. Thinking of adding solar panels and need some advice. home has 2 AC units that combined consume about 9.5KW of power. I’m thinking of getting the 12.2KW panel (“large”). What baffles me is why does Tesla advertise these panels with a daily energy production of...

So if I drive down to OC from with my 2017 Model S, how long would it take Tony to remove and replace the eMMC? FSD is $3000

To me there is no point spending $3K more when the MCU is old. If Tesla can offer a combined package to upgrade both MCU and a the FSD, then it might make sense to dump more money into a car that has already seen 40% of its life (with me).

    Recommended USB drive for dashcam

One assumption that I think you are making is that the system is trying to write the data at the same rate at which it is being generated. In that case, obviously if you are generating 1.8GB of data(video) per hour, which is approximately 0.5MB/s, then you will end up writing at the same speed...

Email from Tesla describing Version 9.

A few questions about v9 on MS: 1) When you bring up an app as an overlay(half screen) does the map readjust to center the current position of your car around the remaining part of the map’s screen? If not, the map would become practically unusable when another app is overlaying it. It would...

With the new maps, in night mode, the background is somewhat black-green color and the fonts for the road names are not white but instead some light gray color. Max power at high speeds

I was referring to max acceleration. I suspect you would need much lesser than 275kw to travel at 100mph. However, with more max power you have faster acceleration, e.g. faster 65 to 85mph.

    Max power at high speeds

I have a factory uncorked 75. While the max power below 60 mph is close to 320KW, at higher speeds the power is significantly lesser. For e.g. max power at 75mph starts at the moment when the pedal is floored and in about a second, the power has reduced from about 300KW to 275KW. And it will...

Blog Update Pushes Model S 100D to 0-60 MPH in 3.6 Seconds

got a 100D loaner. Did "feel" a tad faster than the 75 RWD - however what was unnerving was the immense torque steer that would pull the steering wheel to one side under rapid acceleration. I did not expect it the first time and the car almost started going sideways! Wonder if the P100D has this...

Easy entry - effect on battery life?

Easy entry - effect on battery life?

Tesla recently released this new Easy Entry feature. While I like it and would like to keep it on, it would mean the seats move back and forth every time I sit in the car which is about 1000 to 1500 times in a year. I was wondering if anyone had more information or ideas around whether this...
