My Model 3 Has Been Keyed 4x in 6 Months - Help

You need to check your sentry mode settings. Make sure you do not have it set to exclude your home. Test it and see if it is working properly. Should be pretty easy to test it at home and in a parking lot. Get another Tesla owner to help you if you need help. At home get some security cameras...

Anyone else dislike the new UI?

The fonts are too small. PRND are hard to see and read in my Model 3. The speed indicator is too small as well as the auto pilot indicator. The whole top line font needs to be increased. It may look fine if you're a developer sitting in front of a computer screen but in a car it is too small.

MASTER THREAD: Removing marks from white seats

Putting a white towel on the seat before installing the booster might have made a difference. The order page for white seats should have a box to check. I have common sense and understand white anything can get dirty or stained and needs special care.

How to save a lot of time on long trips

Below 10% is a slower charge rate and also harder on the battery. Aim to arrive with approx. 10% . It is also less stressful than worrying about making it with 3% or less.

How to save a lot of time on long trips

Aim to arrive at a Super Charger with no less than 10% and charge to no more than 80% unless absolutely necessary. It is a faster charge, reduces down time and is better for the battery.

    Tesla Model 3 in Australia

Australia needs to do more to ramp up support and demand for electric vehicles and EV chargers in general. The coal loving fossil fuels industry puppets they elected continue to do damage to the climate and the planet. Maybe a change in government would help with EV incentives and offer more...

What should my ideal charge percentage be?

During the lock down. If you are not driving much lower the charge to 60% if that is more than enough for daily driving. It is better for the battery.

    Repairable or Write-off?

A write off would be better for your insurance company and better for you. A repaired vehicle of this magnitude is seldom as good as new. If you are not happy with repairs it is a problem for the insurance company, the body shop and for for you. Everyone will be happier with a write off and...

Elon Musk giving the keynote at Satellite 2020

Elon looks tired. He is no longer a young man and needs to take better care of himself. Working 80 hour weeks might be tolerable in your 20s but he is long past that ability. I want to see him live a long life and achieve things he dreamed of.

    Limit acceleration in REVERSE

Any thoughts on having Tesla change the software to limit acceleration in reverse. At a hand car wash today the person accelerated quite fast (by accident ?) in reverse and almost hit a parked car. I hate letting anyone drive my car because I know they are not used to the acceleration.

4,700 miles on my Model 3 and my tires are on the wear bar

Any reason not to hook up a battery tender to the 12 volt battery ?

When you have your car plugged into a 120 or 240 volt outlet with a mobile connector the BMS system will take care of charging your 12 volt battery for you. You should not need to worry about the 12 volt battery as long as the car is plugged in. The 12 volt battery is charged by the BMS as...

Any hack to remove the autopilot nag?

People were doing stupid things when the nag time had a longer interval. Tesla and the regulators responded by tightening up the nag times. Any hack to remove the autopilot nag?

    Charging Cable Stolen While Charging

    Charging Done Ahead of Schedule

    Charging beyond 90% daily

Preheating to warm the battery is best done when plugged in after sitting over night. Using shore power to heat the battery. It only takes a few minutes to heat the cabin. Generally 5 -15 minutes should be plenty. If you're not plugged in 5 minutes to heat the cabin is fine. Preheat the...

    Charging beyond 90% daily

Since the car is only a month old I would go back to Tesla and ask about trading it in on a long range Model 3. Superchargers slowing

Charging over 80% at a SuperCharger is a waste of time for most people due to the charge taper. For the fastest trip speeds charge between 20 - 60% or 70% and then go. That is usually enough to get to the next charger or your destination. Charging to 100% is usually not needed, wastes time and...
