What to do about Door Sill Scratches

Scuffs on the brushed metal...damp Mr. Clean Magic Eraser (or the like). Probably goes without saying...wipe them out with the grain (of the brushed metal).

Instrument Cluster Marred during MCU1 -> MCU2 Upgrade [Resolved: Needed to Remove Screen Protector ]

Stopped by the Plano SC this morning. You guys were right. Screen protector left on the IC. Took ~15mins to take it into the shop, remove it, and return it to me. Irritating to be late for work and the waiting room is not available, so good news was that it was a pretty morning for me to...

Instrument Cluster Marred during MCU1 -> MCU2 Upgrade [Resolved: Needed to Remove Screen Protector ]

I’ll give that a try...I don’t see any wiggle happening. Thank you for the suggestion(s).

Instrument Cluster Marred during MCU1 -> MCU2 Upgrade [Resolved: Needed to Remove Screen Protector ]

Yep. It’s the shipping protection. I can see teeny bubbles under it. I’ll be danged if I can get it off though. I can’t get any purchase. Tried to use painter’s tape on a edge. No love. Watched a YouTube clip on how to get to it. No way. I’ll roll up to the Plano SC Monday morning...

Instrument Cluster Marred during MCU1 -> MCU2 Upgrade [Resolved: Needed to Remove Screen Protector ]

Dang. I need to stop skim-reading. How did I overlook the IC replacement during the MCU upgrade? Good idea on the shipment protector, I’ll check for that possibility. @galvatron, I texted the SC within about an hour of picking it up, but it was after closing. Good news all around though...

Instrument Cluster Marred during MCU1 -> MCU2 Upgrade [Resolved: Needed to Remove Screen Protector ]

Plano, TX SC did my MCU1 and FSD upgrade today. All good...or so I thought. Driving east, the sun hit my instrument cluster and the surface is scratched all to hell. Mostly vertical, uniform scratches. I can’t find any part of the screen without damage. I found a time lapse of a DIY MCU...

    Service during COVID19

My service to date has been good. Recent disappointment though...my MCU1 -> MCU2 Plano, TX service center appointment for today was ‘postponed’ due to COVID precautions. Better safe than sorry. I probably would have had it replaced before now if their original email about the upgrade...

19” Silver Slipstream Wheels (x 4) - DFW Local Only

DFW, TX area drop-off/pick-up only. These are in great shape (covered with brake dust though). No curb rash. I also have the lugs, lug covers, and center caps. The Service Center scuffed up a couple of the center caps. Irritating. $250 for all 4. Selling as a set. Need to get them out of...

Is this a part of some interior fixture ?

Uhhh...pretty sure that's an earring back (going to try to include a snippet). What the heck kinda gymnastics have been happening in that car? Opinions from other earring wearers?

    Tesla vs External Route Planners

2017 MS 100D here. I've made several DFW, TX to/from P'cola, FL (~675 miles) round trips. I use the onboard Telsa planner. Yes, I trust it...but verified it via some other planners on my 1st trip. I don't know of a way to increase the SC arrival buffer. I've done the FL trip enough times...

Are you running Falken Azenis tires? (Warning)

I haven’t had my wheels off yet, so I don’t know the state of the interior rims...but doesn’t the OP’s look a bunged up?

TACC automatic speed changing driving me crazy in DFW

I think I figured out my issue during a southbound trip on the DNT today. I was in the far left lane and didn’t have the diving MPH issue....I started thinking about what @BerTX said and realized the only time I’ve experienced the diving MPH is when I’ve been in the far right lane. That far...

TACC automatic speed changing driving me crazy in DFW

I’m a daily Dallas North Tollway (DNT) driver (v28.5). I’m having the same issues on the southbound side near Rayburn. Drops from 70 to 45 in the blink of an eye. (There’s also a couple of phantom braking locations around Loop 12/Lovers/Mockingbird. I assume that’s from the combination of...

    The "GOOD IDEAS" thread

I’d like an old skool chirp, “nanu nanu”, Gene Wilder shouting “Alive! It’s Alive! It’s Alive!”, plasma ball white noise...whatevs when I (my fob) walk away from the car. A couple of updates ago my auto-lock bounced back to no lock. Took me about a week to realize I was leaving my car...

    App Connection down?

Same here. Tried killing the app and restarting it. No go. Logged out....and now can’t login. So, yes...guessing the issue is back at the mothership.

Model S as a co-star on The Mick (Fox), #35

DISCLAIMER - The Mick is a wildly inappropriate TV show with pretty crude content and frequent child endangerment themes. But I can’t look away. Anyhoops, a Model S plays a supporting role in episode #35. One of the stars (owner of a Geo Metro) mocks it initially, but ends up won over at the...

Anyone filed taxes for the $7500 tax credit yet?

Bailed on TT today. Reentered my return in H&RB and filed. Accepted by the IRS. Fingers crossed that the refund hits without issue.

For.peteys.sake. That's awesome. Maybe that feature arrived with the last update and I overlooked it in the release notes. ;) Thanks, smilepak!

Unable to turn on climate from any app - anyone else?

That fixed me. Dumped the iOS app, restarted it, and it's turning climate on and off now without issue. Thanks.
