it was from the earnings call which was also quoted on the Tesla motor club homepage and stated "it offers a yoke and a more traditional steering wheel option, both of them with no stalks."
Those who of us who upgraded to HW3 with a new touchscreen also received a email message several weeks ago, which I have archived for reference, that I will most likely be due a refund on part of the cost of the touchscreen replaced during the upgrade.
Many thanks for the video. That was very interesting. I would hope that the anomalies mentioned in my post would be taken care of because I could not see how Tesla could label FSD as truly "full self driving" if those still existed in the semi final product. The streets that I am on are not...
I am not a current beta tester but an extremely heavy user of autopilot in my 75D 2017 model S. Three of my frustrations --
1. On a four-lane highway with right hand and left hand lane turns, on autopilot at certain locations, the car tends to veer into the left hand turn lane due to a break...
2020.44.25 Official Tesla Release Notes - Tesla Software Updates
I stumbled on this and I don't believe it has been mentioned on this forum, but this seems very complete and even offers a peek into the next release.
BTW, what is the beta FSD version #? When I saw this version I initially...
Very early in this thread I replied mentioning that my screen was not replaced either but I only paid $2250. The service center indicated that the screen replacement was not necessary because there was not any change to the internals. I returned to the SC and mentioned that I would feel better...
This is really a shame you are going through this especially with such low mileage. I'm sure that forum members, who have more experience with issues like yours, will offer their experiences which hopefully will be helpful to you. For me, the service center in Wilmington DE is a joy to deal...
@murphyS90D Haha
After reading this link, I tried this. Remember, I do not show on the Safety & Security page anything about 'allow keyless driving'. So I leave the fob about 50 feet away, go to the car only with my phone, go to the Tesla app/Controls and press Start. It says 'Enable Keyless...
And as I have posted previously, it's not on my car either. There must be some common thread of what cars have allow keyless entry and what cars do not (model, manufacturing date, HW version, MCU version, etc.).
My car was manufactured July 2017 and just recently upgraded to MCU 2 & HW3. I don't show any indication of allow keyless driving under safety & security.
But one day, prior to the latest upgrade, I did not have my fob with me. When not in my pocket it sits on my closet shelf which is about 6...
That is certainly true and a real shortcoming of Tesla service centers. It's impossible to call them. What I do is schedule a new service call where I simply ask a question and I have been surprised that they do follow-up.
The Tesla service center statement certainly doesn't seem to make sense as the $2500 infotainment upgrade supposedly includes the new screen. There seems to be quite a bit of miscommunication from Tesla on this.
My invoice shows
Info Upgrad wit Replacement Touchscren (1582613-00-A) 1.0 2,500.00
But then shows
Correction: Infotainment Upgrade From Tegra MCU and Autopilot 2.0 To Intel MCU And Autopilot 3.0 (Model S)
MCU INTEL UPGRADE-TegraAP2.0-NA-NODISP (9874562-00-B) 1.0...
Thanks for the warning and the suggestion. I actually have the SSD hidden under the cupholders so it is out of sight, but I like your suggestion better. I will have to figure out how to string it out under the carpet and into the glove box.
With the recent on infotainment upgrade to HW 3, I purchased the Samsung T7 500 GB SSD online for $119.99 (Amazon). Upon its arrival, plugged it into the USB port, went to the settings, safety & security screen, clicked on format Drive, and was surprised how fast that was. I am so impressed...
Took my car in yesterday at 1pm and got it back today at 10 am. I also saw at least 2 attempts to download software Took about 10 miles to calibrate. I had to reset wifi and homelink, but so far no other issues. now need to buy the drive for the new entry mode.
Thanks, city racer is still active and they show on their website a model of this dashcam for AP2. When one upgrades from MCU 1 to MCU 2 and HW3, Do you suppose this model will still work?
Thanks, interesting comments regarding MobileEye.
I was wondering if Tesla would maintain access to the open source speed limit database at the same time of trying to visually recognize a speed limit sign. If so, with a discrepancy, which source wins?
It appears the IRO is not made for Tesla model as AP2.5 and appears to be only sold by eBay at this point. Is this correct? Any further information on this company's product?
It will be interesting to determine how smart speed limit sign recognition will be. For example, I'm “sure” it will be able to read school speed limit zones which inform the driver that at only certain times of the day will be 15 mph be required.
What about construction signage? I am being...
I was on progressive for a couple of years and this time around they got greedy. Switched over to Liberty Mutual on a full 12 month basis and pay $1208 a year where the Tesla portion is $868 a year. Have 250/500/100 with $1000 deductible.
Interesting posts. My wife also goes bonkers when the car abruptly slams on the brakes. I notice that climbing a hill where the car can't see that far ahead when the hill turns down is also a cause. I don't know why Tesla isn't more interested in solving these issues because, obviously, they...
I tried that. Two days later my request was canceled and I was told that i had to wait for the invitation. One reason given was that the replacement parts for an AP 2.5 / HW 2.0 / MCU 1 car were not available yet. Tesla announced later that for they expected availability - for these parts - by...
I noticed today a little red dot that is being displayed on the speed limit sign on the display. I'm almost certain this has not appeared previously, but who knows. Last week 2020.12.5 was downloaded. A JPEG is attached. This dot is not part of the speed limit icon as when there is no speed...
I was updated to 2020.8.2 last night and today the browser did not work one bit even with 3 bars on LTE. The browser loads and that's about it. I have a list of favorites which when pressed the browser does not seem to even try to load the URL. On 2020.8.1, the browser did load but was quite...
I can understand the computer being able to recognize stop signs, but what I don't get is who will make the decision to accelerate from the stop sign? If the human has to intervene, then it isn't FSD, is it?
Well, finally, Tesla mobile service responded to my request for the infotainment upgrade with a text message this morning indicating that my car is not yet eligible for the upgrade (manufactured July 2017, MCU1, HW 2.5. This is somewhat surprising to me as the service center last week gave me...
I attempted to schedule an appointment using the Tesla app for the infotainment upgrade and it defaulted to mobile service. My appointment is scheduled for this coming Thursday (March 26) and I thought by now they would review the appointment, provide an estimate, and then reschedule to a...
I must be in a great area for service centers, first with the Devon PA center until a closer center in Wilmington DE opened in January. Had to get the 12 V battery serviced and they had me in and out within one hour with a new 12v battery under warranty. It was also impressive to find in the...
It seems lately with the latest 2020.4.1 and now 2020.8.1 updates I have experienced more of this random braking issue with absolutely nothing in sight as to a possible reason of why the car would want to abruptly stop. It does not seem to matter if I am on autosteer or just adaptive cruise...
At one time, didn't the map display areas of congestion (using orange border lines on the edges of the roads with congestion)? I don't see this happening at all. if correct, why would Google -or maybe Tesla - have eliminated this?
i am not aware of any available listing. You have MCU1 and i do not believe Tesla has concluded their testing of the HW3 upgrade for MCU1 cars unless you purchase the $2500 upgrade of MCU1 to MCU2 which will also give you a ' move to the front of the line ticket'.
I believe the microphone is between the visors in the small grill area and while no expert at this, I have noticed a large number of threads showing pictures and wiring suggestions of 12v always on access in the compartment underneath the rear view mirror.
BTW, are you installing the dashcam or...
I also installed 2020.8.1 last night and to my surprise the settings screen for autopilot now shows navigate on autopilot grayed out with the statement "not available in this region". I was previously on 2020.4.1 and had no problems deploying NOA. Is this just my car or do you also notice this?
I know now that TPMS expects a minimum 42 psi. But in my case the leaking tire was not due to anything other than a nail that it had picked up so that cost me a new tire during my visit this morning to the Wilmington DE center. At least got treated to the UV treatment for the yellow border and...
i had the same issue last week with the right front tire showing 36 psi, so i filled the tire to 40 but the warning light stayed on (I had forgotten the factory pressure) and the next day it was down to 36 again. Went back to add more air this time to 45 psi and the warning went off and hasn't...
