    P85D sales ratio 95%?

Hope this isn't off topic or in another thread. But I'm wondering if any roadster owners are trading in the roadster to get a S85D or P85D? Thanks.

    Storage Mode

Thank you all for the very helpful info on this thread. I am not an engineer, but was able to follow most of it, because you avoided too much jargon and the like. Thanks. For what it's worth, I will say, I found the second set of graphs about charge state/temp and battery shelf life very...

How will the Roadster appreciate: Bricklin or Shelby Cobra?

Anyone have thoughts for how the Roadster will appreciate, if at all, over the years? Will it be remembered as a novelty like the Bricklin or something that excites passions, and therefore draws top dollar like a Shelby Cobra? You could use any two cars for comparison - DeLorean and Gull...

    The deal breaker...

I was at the preview of the car in Portland. Loved the looks but I was just surprised how big, especially how wide it is. I know it's trying to "compete" with 5 series Bimmer, but it is much bigger. I hate to say it, because I've had a deposit since the first day they were accepting them, but...

new and has a few questions!

BTW, you asked about mileage. I drive pretty crazy when in standard mode, so I only get 145 to 150 miles in standard mode. Lots of punching the car from lights and stop signs. When in range mode driving a calmly and keeping it at 60 mph on the free way I do get 240 miles, just like they say...

new and has a few questions!

K to the T. No stupid questions on this forum and welcome to the future of electric cars. Like many of us roadster owners I am a previous Porsche owner. I would like to second the previous commenters suggestion he test drive both. They are very different experiences and lots of pro's and...

    Notes from Portland prototype tour.

Drbradfo, Nice job, you must have taken notes. Thanks for posting this. I wanted to add one fact I was surprised by. The rear wheel wells are large enough to accomodate cables for snow driving conditions. Given the aerodynamic profile of the wheel well, I was very surprised by this. One...

Obsidian Black versus Jet Black? Metallic vs. Premium?

I've never been fond of black cars, but when it comes to resale of sports cars "triple black" (black interior, exterior and top) is the best. Any thoughts?

Charging model S without a garage?

VFX, I just got your joke/meaning with the gates you show. It really made me laugh as I wish I had the type of house/garage where I could put something like that in. Although not the smallest garage, my garage and drive way are pretty narrow and would not allow a gate like you have shown. I...

Charging model S without a garage?

I have the same configuration of garage you have. I just got a roadster 4 weeks ago and it sits in the garage when not in use. This coming week I'm getting a 240 socket put on the side of my house along the drive way, where I'll be parking my model S when I get it, and where I will charge the...

    Gas Tax Solution

I live in Oregon, one of the states proposing a per mile tax on EV's. One of the authors of the proposed tax had this to say about it a couple days ago on a radio talk show. First, any tax would exclude EV purchased or in existence before 2014. This exclusion is for the life of the vehicle...

    Tesla Roadster vanity license plates

I just picked up my twilight blue roadster 3 weeks ago. I'm in Portland, OR. Where did you see this one? E

Response to the news the Chevy Volt lost half it's range in cold weather driving

I am a new roadster owner (two weeks). I live in Portland, OR which is pretty temperate. I was wondering if some of the owners in cold climates could comment on how the cold affects range on the roadster? If at all. Thanks.

Advice needed: purchasing used vs. new Roadster

Gris, Now that I've had the roadster for a couple weeks. I'd like to add that I'm pretty confident in the car. Although I didn't buy from a private individual, I would now, if I could find a roadster with a year or so on the warranty. Especially if I could find one in a city with a Tesla...

Advice needed: purchasing used vs. new Roadster

Gris, Just like you I have been driving a Prius (6 years now), I have a reservation for a sedan, which I put in the first day in 2009. I also have the discretionary income to buy a roadster but had NO plans to buy one until this month. Tesla is selling some dealer demo roadsters that are...
