Wipers stop mid windshield on 2023.27.7 in heavy rain and no longer mandatory in FSD

Yes well when I got them manually moved back in. Pressing service mode. Didn’t move them out as it normally would so probably a bad motor. FYI.

Wipers stop mid windshield on 2023.27.7 in heavy rain and no longer mandatory in FSD

Yes in older builds, it had to be in auto only AFAIK, but now you just need it not to be off. And reporting to all... 1. The failure mode for Tesla wiper motors isn't total failure, according to my buddy Jay at Tesla Service, it is that they stop and require a hardware reset to get going and...

Wipers stop mid windshield on 2023.27.7 in heavy rain and no longer mandatory in FSD

Yes thanks I’ve learned a few things 1. This latest build under FSD doesn’t allow you turn off the wipers but you can switch from automatic. 2. I agree with you. We finally made it home today by the wiggle the wipers along bootstrap and then setting it on the fastest setting. We ran it all the...

Wipers stop mid windshield on 2023.27.7 in heavy rain and no longer mandatory in FSD

Help! This is a safety issue up here I. The Pacific Northwest. Has anyone else had this problem? What’s a fix: 1. I don’t know if it’s software or hardware but we have a 2018 M3P. With FSD 2023.27.7. Never had any wiper problems before. 2. Last week it started really raining. And pulling out I...

Any 99 Safety Scores receive FSD Beta yet?

Ok at 99 score with 100 miles plus since last Sunday. Curious how everyone thinks this works. Does it mean that there is a long queue of 99s and rollouts will continue so net, net just keep the score up and hope?

How Early is too Early to get the Y

Ordered. Replaces two cars that have both come off of lease. A model x (which we really really miss but want the plaid version) and a Chevy bolt (which we won’t miss at all). if we can get away with our remaining “tall” car for our elderly parents then will compare the model y and model x...

    Dumb Winter Range Question

To give u a little more courage. We just did 180 miles at 30 degrees. No snow but lots of rain With pirelli snow tires. The 20% snow penalty is real. Abpr is accurate. Main thing is to manage speed and if you can draft pickups. It really saves range if u get behind another car. Speed matters...

    40.2.1 rolling out?

Downloading now. I find that for blank release notes you have to wait for a bit. They seem to be silently downloading from the Tesla website and they didn’t have any visual indication of that. I’ve had to wait up to the next drive to see the release notes but YMMV

Tesla Model 3 Performance at one year - true love is possible after the honeymoon is over!

I’ll second that. We’ve had ours for just about nine months now and we still giggle at full throttle. Your point about drive ability isn’t discussed a lot but is really true. Put it into chill mode and we’ve done 14 hour drives under autopilot like it is nothing. Feels like 3-4x less driver...

    Model X Replacement for Mercedes-Benz GL550

And the other posters are right about how profiles work. As for why the seven seat version. After having the five seat version for two years, we never used the extra cargo space that the five makes available. Also the folks who sit in the second seat are small enough they don’t need the extra...

    Model X Replacement for Mercedes-Benz GL550

Yes chill is the opposite. It turns the power down. I think I read to half of normal. We find that for lost trips we don’t need anything like 0-60 in 4.4 seconds. The net effect is a much more mellow ride. I probably drove 95% in that mode. When I now I’m getting on the freeway or there is the...

    Model X Replacement for Mercedes-Benz GL550

One thing in the model x is to leave the car in chill mode. This basically detunes the car and it won’t be as lightening quick. I actually have three profiles in the car (u can set up to 10) but they are normal which is chill mode and comfort steering. So it rides very gently. We don’t have a...

    Model 3 Performance- 20” Tires - I have questions!

Hard for me to compare as I haven't spent much time in a 18" M3. But we've driven it model 3 around town and then on a Seattle to Bay area roundtrip. The road noise doesn't seem awful. But then we don't have any experience with whisper quiet luxury cars. Compared to a really noisy Mazdspeed3...

Consumer Study: Drivers turning off "annoying" driver safety systems

At Least for us, the alerts and the autopilot stuff has been getting much better over time. So if you tried it once, it’s not a bad idea to try it again sometime. Just did 150 miles round trip with the 2019.32 and was surprised how much things like NOA has improved even since this July. Of...

Supercharger - what speeds are you getting?

I don’t know is UK cars are different but for our US M3 that would be about right. There are many posts on this but fastest charge rates are in the 15-30% range when you’ll get 145kW or so. It then tapers as the battery gets full. Really drips after 60%. As for preconditioning, that’s normally...

After Model X, what should be our next car?

Ymmv. I guess we’ve been lucky. Our model x (and 3) have had good reliability and service has been great. Of course we r not in the Bay Area so thats the main reason. The MX is a June 2017 build by the way. Main issue early on was adjustment of the rear doors. But none since. As for other...

    Three home charging options

We got both. Have a 14-50 and also use the 5-15 (we have two Tesla’s) and no variable power pricing. Net, net, we live with the 5-15, but the 14-50 is much more convenient for the occasional longer trips as you dhave not have to do multi day planning to get up to 95%. And we normally leave...

Emergency Lane Departure - False Positives

Another clueless article..."How Ford Will Eat Tesla's Lunch in the Next Two Years"

Thanks for that. All those numbers are depressing for others makers. I still can’t figure out how BMW sold 250 i8s last month. That’s pretty incredibly large for that two seater. Or how big the MS and MX still are even at their now much lower ship rates.

Niche Luxury Car Maker According to Barclays

Not sure which Tesla to buy

We have a model x and a model 3. None of us are that tall so you have to see but they both seem to have plenty of head room. Crushing Rear-Seat Passengers

Interesting suggestion. I normally just cancel the full reverse by clicking any of the seat adjustment buttons. This stop shop easy entry from moving the seat any further and prevents leg crush. Also useful in those cases where I know someone will be getting in their later.

It is hard to know CR methods as they don’t publish them but for work I did an analysis of JD Powers statistics once.
