    Supercharger - Clayton, NM

I've been waiting on this one for ages! I will be glad to no longer have white knuckles into Raton pass. Thanks @reddy and all for the constant stream of ridiculously accurate and timely updates. Glad to hear that the Ranch Market and staff are friendly and excited to have it -- Tesla couldn't...

    Atari Game Pole Position

It has been confirmed that Pole Position exists on MCU1 cars and is able to run just fine; controller support is also possible. It's just that Tesla did not bother to release it for MCU1. See here MCU1 Pole position, breakout and joystick suport. : teslamotors

    Software Update 2018.48.x

Having done my emulator time this smelled like fish from the beginning. This deserves an incredible amount of attention. I wonder if they are subtly trying to gauge the backlash from MCU1 owners when real features start to be differentiated. For the record the Tegra2 platform is not as shitty...

    Network problem today 5/1/18

I had frozen GPS position and no auto headlights or autopilot this morning. Since this is not the first time this has happened and since my nearest SC is 4 hours away I thought I should make a report in order to document occurrences. Although it seems to resolve after the car is parked a while...

    MCU Retrofit

This is still conjecture, but it is looking to me like the retrofit would need to be Mirrors (new antennas) + IC + MCU (including the screens) + a special retrofit harness. Maybe the IC screen can stay, but the word is the new MCU runs both displays and the center screen is different than the...

    MCU Retrofit

This is great news all around. I am actually most excited that they have acknowledged that their UI is terrible enough that they will let people upgrade, and I'm delighted for both options. The new MCU is really forcing them to face their poor UI performance. "Old" or not the Tegra 3 was no...

Model S/X deliveries with Intel-based MCU

I highly doubt that "MCU2" will be option coded. The base OS is Ubuntu which is a good multi-architecture base; Tesla obviously have done the work and testing to get their codebase running fine on x64 (it probably always did) so really there probably isn't much effort to support both platforms...

Opinion: raffle the Arachnids to raise money for non-profit?

Glad to help; good luck! Sounds like a great cause.

Model S/X deliveries with Intel-based MCU

I'd be lying if I said I wasn't a little bit jaded having taken delivery of my car just over 2 months ago, but on the other hand I'm glad they finally came through. Although I am only a recent owner I have followed the MS closely since release, and on the whole the MCU has always felt like it...

Opinion: raffle the Arachnids to raise money for non-profit?

I don't think any reasonable person would consider @phaduman's intentions to be anything other than noble, but that doesn't mean that it is allowed just because you can make some kind of case for it. Most states consider raffles to be an illegal gambling game, so the ability to run one depends...

Opinion: raffle the Arachnids to raise money for non-profit?

Legal issues? Absolutely. Raffles are a minefield and heavily dependent on state laws; they get even more wacky when you start wanting to sell tickets/chances out of state. I could explain how it works in Texas for nonprofits but I am 100% certain that it would be different in any other state...

    Tesla New Inventory Models

It is a popular sentiment that it's trying to hang onto the tax credit an extra quarter or the pending refresh but neither of those arguments make any sense. The elephant in the room is the Model 3. They are trying like hell to get those out the door as fast as possible (pretty much obliterates...

    Using TM-Spy for iOS

I am stuck on yellow/connecting with the message "Config ELM 00" appearing in the bottom right. According to debug console, I apparently have no problem seeing/connecting with the LELink over bluetooth. But there is no data arriving, and I am unsure of the exact nature of the problem. I am...

    Meet Teslonda – a Tesla-Powered 1981 Honda Accord

I personally would not feel very good driving any conversion project that did not deal with the potential problems caused by the open diff. The previously featured Elise conversion did swap the diff for the drop in LSD that Quaife made, but doesnt appear that they have done much about it on this...

5G is coming this year...will TESLA offer an upgrade

Pretty much any type of connectivity is possible with a wifi bridge; so there will always be options regardless of what the car natively supports.

I only got 25K miles out of my Continental Extreme Contact tires...

I had Contis on my M3 and I was lucky if I got 10K out of them. I drove the hell out of that machine. I also drove it with Toyo Proxes and Michelin Pilot Sports. I liked the Continental best of the three overall despite the wear. Michelin lasted longer than the others but did not grab as well...

Would you be comfortable letting your car sit at about 8% charge overnight?

According to data I have collected my range loss whenever parked overnight is 0.5 to 2 rated miles/hr of idle time, temperature dependent. It has been on average at or below freezing most nights this last month, so I expect you will fare much better. Others may be better able to speak to how...

Tesla's GPS vs. Waze vs. EVTripping questions...

For A Better Route Planner you pull up the actual website on the car browser and it runs the tracking in the browser (Unless you have a model 3 anyway). If you log in you can save routes on the computer and restore them in car. I like to see the difference between the car's planner and...

    “Limited Charging” message

I have seen it when forced to charge on 110V with an extension cord or a poor circuit. The car will limit current if the voltage drop is too large at the set current draw. I would guess this could easily happen if the connector is seated well enough that you don't get the red ring but still not...

Has anybody worked out the wall charger communication protocol yet?

GitHub - cdragon/TWCManager: Control power delivered by a Tesla Wall Charger using two wires screwed into its RS-485 terminals. This is a small application which runs on Linux (like a Raspberry Pi w/ USB<->RS485 adapter) that simulates a master TWC to control up to 3 TWCs in slave mode. I do...

Feature Request: Disable Autolock Near Homelink

My P100 goes 0-60 in 2.3 but I wish it could do this

The 3d overview that you can orbit around is pretty cool. Most of this admittedly is convenience and assistance features that are being targeted to older drivers though which is why they are showing up on the big boats first. @LCR1 I'd take a battery pack side impact over a door side impact any...

Tesla Upgrading Software to ‘Do Pretty Much Anything Via Voice Command’

There would be a nice opportunity for an aftermarket inverter that worked directly from the battery supply instead of the 12v system. I am surprised nobody has taken up the torch on that yet -- only one I could find was someone who looked at installing one on the roadster?

Blog Tesla: What to Expect in 2018

When you adjust the driver temp, there is a little 'sync' button to the side in the popup. When you hit that, the passenger temp will follow the driver side adjustment until it is overridden by making an adjustment on the passenger side. The reading lights can be turned on and off by depressing...

Blog TMC Member Upgrades Model S: ‘Only RWD Tesla With a 100 kWh Pack’

Blog Tesla: What to Expect in 2018

Tesla has so much capability to deliver with their You say this but 90% of the stuff suggested is software. I agree with you though; Tesla has a real chance to set themselves apart here, but it does not seem that they put much as much effort into their UI as the rest of the car. It appears...

Need Guidance on Ordering Model S- 75 vs 100

As someone who very recently wrestled this same question, I'd like to share my thought process. I went 100D and it will make a lot of difference for the trips I take around here where SC's are sparse. A 75D would likely be capable of many of the routes but it takes the car out of the 10%-60%...

How do you pass time at the charging stations?

Same boat here; have been spending a little time at the SC since I don't yet have my electric work in yet. I've been playing Nintendo Switch. Would be nice for the car to support audio in via the USB connection.

    Adjusting charging amps remotely?

Hello, All. I am a new car owner and was looking into this same issue because I would like to be able to automatically reduce the charge rate based on overall panel load.
