2019.32.12.7 includes a new Tesla tool to reduce logging behind the scenes. Other than that, no significant changes. My guess is that this is in response to failing emmc chips in early mcu units.
It's not just in 19.8.5... Have 2019.12 and have the same issue.
Logs indicate either a problem with the Audio driver or hardware:
ERROR [AlsaPlaybackDevice] Failed to write to ALSA device -> preparing, error: Broken pipe retrying...
This is completely false. Tesla will give you the login. They gave it to me.
Changing that setting does nothing in the car. The car sets the max bitrate at 128kbs, THIS CANNOT BE CHANGED!
My car has been intermittently losing GPS since V9.
The latest behaviour is that whenever I park the car for more than say 30 min. GPS would be stuck for about 3-5min. into the drive, then it will work.
I have root on my car, so I'm able to check logs etc. and there is nothing abnormal in the...
I wouldn't put them back on... seriously?!
If it was the chain, you could tell by simply looking at the chain...
No way it didn't also leave a mark on the chain...
From looking at the code behind the dash cam feature, here's how it actually works:
The program that saves the clips runs constantly, even when the car is off. The video is streamed from the AP computer to the MCU, where it is recorded.
Now, when the car is off and parked, AP shuts down. The...
There is code that extracts the locale (US, CA, MX etc.) from the current map region used. That locale is used to enable or disable features like summon with fob, NoA etc.. The code that checks the locale to enable or disable features only runs once a day, normally.
My 2015 85D had the same issue. Ranger replaced the sliding glass and the problem was gone.
There is apparently a new revision of the glass that resolves this issue.
I had the same symptoms in my car on an earlier software version. It eventually escalated to where the car would also reduce power.
Turns out a sensor in the battery had failed and the battery needed to be replaced.
Sudden loss of regen and power limit
Final Update:
Got my car back yesterday. New HV battery was installed and everything is normal again!
I've gotta say, I'm impressed... 1 week turn around for a brand new battery install (incl. ordering the replacement battery) is seriously impressive...
Don't know if I just got lucky or if this...
Yeah, that information should ideally be accessible to the owner in the car's menu somewhere. I mean, most ICE cars have temp. gauges...
Hahaha, I tried calling. I don't have time to wait on the phone for 30 min. for someone to answer my call.
Anyway got a reply today, they referred it to the...
The car was built in Oct. 2017 and only has around 9000 miles (15k km) on it.
And as you can see on the energy graph in the picture I posted, I haven't driven the car hard at all... It's a mystery.. I'm hoping for a software glitch. The service center is 4 hours and a ferry ride away...
Yes, I've even tried a hard reset.
I do write down the exact time every time it happens, which should help them find it in the logs. I've read before that the voice report thing isn't really looked at by anyone, but I could do that too.
Still haven't heard back from Tesla, btw.
The battery was at 68% when it happened yesterday. Ambient temp was 23C (~74F), so I don't think the battery was cold. The A/C works and the louvers on the radiators open and close normally when charging...
That's what makes this so weird, everything seems normal except that behaviour.
It happened again just now as I was pulling into my garage...
Nobody ever had this happen?
I'm still on 2018.28.5
Emailed Tesla twice now, no answer yet...
Today my car suddenly disabled regenerative braking completely and reduced power to around 150kW for seemingly no reason.
Outside temperature was 24C or 75F. After about 10-15min, regenerative braking was suddenly available again 100% and power was unlimited.
I’ve noticed before that the car...
Simply not true. You should test drive a new Model S. It's a huge difference compared to the earlier ones. So much so that I immediately traded my 2015 S in for a 2018 when my service center gave me a 2018 as a loaner.
I think mine arrived in less than a week, but I live on the west coast..
If it fits the factory console, it'll fit this one. However, the second link seems to be for 2016 onwards, which is the newer - built-in console. Not sure if they're different.
I wouldn't be surprised if the manufacturer of that console used to make the OEM console for Tesla and decided to just keep making them, but a bit cheaper, after Tesla stopped selling them... Because with the exception of the stitching, it is indistinguishable from the OEM console.
No, it doesn't come with the bracket, but it can be used with the bracket as well..
It is a clone of the factory console, so it has the hooks to hook into the bracket.
The bracket really isn't needed though, I use it without and it doesn't move.
Yeah, I only mentioned it because it is the only thing that lets you know it's not an OEM console. I don't notice it anymore and nobody that has ridden in the car has ever noticed it.
But if it really bothers you, the leather pieces are removable, so you could have it reupholstered very...
