Is it bad for the interior to get too hot?

If it makes you feel any better, some police departments are intentionally heating their cars to 130+ degrees (F) to disinfect and sanitize them from COVID-19. Ford sanitizing Police Interceptor SUVs with heat to fight coronavirus

Can't decide between P3D or Model S, halp!

Our household has one of each and I generally prefer the S for a few reasons: First, the air suspension makes a huge difference in ride comfort and noise. If you spend many hours a day in your car, this could make a difference. Second, the cargo capacity of the S is unsurpassed. With the rear...

    Regenerative braking vs brake pedal

I've heard that battery can only take so much power from regen at one time. Barring the new Maxwell battery rumors and/or supercapacitors, I think the battery is the current limitation in how much regen can be applied/absorbed at one time. If you want to see an example of this, see how your...

    Help me decide: 2017 Model S 75D (or 90D) vs 2018 Model 3 performance

As a household with both these cars in the stable, I'd say in your situation with the car being your only vehicle, for sure go for the Model S. First, the S has a bit more "Gravitas". As someone said above, it is like a BMW 7 Series vs a 3 Series. If you only have one car in the household and...

    Pearl White Multi-Coat Paint

All Tesla Model 3's have the same black/glass roof so does the body color really affect interior temperatures? Sure, the hood and trunk may be a source of some heat entering the cabin, but I thought the bulk of heat came from the car's roof. Just wondering if anyone has any real world insight.

Someone backed into my car. 2500 bucks to repair it

I'm going against the majority here, but I would leave the bumper as is (if the new bumper gap isn't that noticeable). Your damage in the photo appears like a bug splat and (to me) is barely noticeable. As your bumper is in a "danger zone" area (rock chips, parking taps, etc.), I would wait for...

Car damaged by detailing guys.. how would you handle?

Most detailers aren't swimming in extra cash so I'd make him a quick deal. Tell him you'll handle the repairs costs with Tesla and he can make it up for you with free/equivalent detailing sessions. Sometimes being creative/flexible with a vendor can earn you loyalty and great treatment for life.

Top 10 Superchargers based on Tesla screen at Kettleman City and other locations

Slightly off topic, but does anyone know what application and/or software is used to create these Tesla dashboards? Something like Tableau perhaps or maybe it's a totally custom inhouse program? Would enjoy exploring a software package that could present and package data in this way?

    Homelink not working in morning

Hi guys, By any chance are any of you using LED bulbs in your garage openers? I swapped out incandescent bulbs for LED ones and then my Homelink stopped working reliably when the bulbs were on. Amazon has specialized LED bulbs that are "interference fee" . Or you can go back to incandescent...

    Model S refresh "MI03"

Where are you seeing this MI03 code (or lack of)? I looked at the 2 car links you provided but didn't see any mention of this code. Is it embedded somewhere in the VIN?

    Porsche Mission E

I think Tesla "rewarding" customers with fee/discounted power is them saying thank you for paying the EV premium purchase price compared to a similarly equipped ICE vehicle. Most people try to make purchasing decisions that make financial sense (with being green a bonus). If an EV costs more...

    Porsche Mission E

One major negative with Porsche that looks to be on the horizon is with their long range charging solution. They not only plan to charge for any supercharger use, they will charge you to fill up your car with a similar price you pay for a gasoline fill-up. They hope to make this a profit center...

Model S/X deliveries with Intel-based MCU

Let us know how this turns out as we're all curious. It's a bit of a grey zone as I'm sure Tesla's legal agreement says something like they will replace a warranty item with an "equal or equivalent" item, not necessarily new. Additionally, the new MCU appears to come with additional hardware...
