San Francisco Tesla Club Meet #2 - Saturday, June 16 - Pebble Beach - 17 Mile Drive

Thank you Rich for organizing this and leading the way! It's been many years since we drove 17mile drive on a car and I forgot how crowded it could be. I must admit, riding it on a bike early on a week day is a lot more fun ;-) In case any one wants to download full resolution pics I also...

What do you dislike most about your Model 3?

make sure to follow correct procedure for adjusting side mirrors to eliminate blind spots on left/right sides For many years Up until some one pointed me out to that procedure I was setting them to see sides of my car from central head position and had then to turn my head left/right to make...

What do you dislike most about your Model 3?

AFAIK, the only way to engage parking brake is by pressing right stalk push button. Also opening any door engages parking. Either way it cancels out drive mode and neutral. I actually even tried sleeping in unfolded driver seat. The HVAC eventually turned off even then. The one thing I did not...

At car wash, how do you avoid charge port opening?

Not to say manual explicitly recommends against brush-type car washes ;-)

Model 3 at Intense Autocross Race

I doubt it. apparently traction control is not that intrusive anyways. the results are posted search for #943 raw time. He was not classed at all - fun group. I doubt we'd even figure how to PAX him for lack of data.

What do you dislike most about your Model 3?

I guess camper mode it not yet implemented in the UI. I tried sleeping in the car (in my garage) and could not find a way to make AC work other than keep one of the doors crack-open but then it also lowers window in that door.

lack of camper mode: in absence of a person sitting in front seat the car shuts off media, A/C, USB power not a hatchback limited visibility through rear mirror.

Model 3 at Intense Autocross Race

Since this Lotus club event SCCA rules apply just loosely. We have single class for all non-Lotus cars where we apply PAX index. But I'm not sure how this one will be PAX'ed. The results will be calculated/published much later. Luke, the driver of the model 3 works at Tesla and deals with many...

Model 3 at Intense Autocross Race

At our yesterday club autoX event we had red Tesla Model 3 with competent driver with street legal racing compound tires: RA71's on 18" sport wheels. He's times were just 1/2 second slower then mine (Lotus Elise with LSD on similar compound R888's) on a 50s course. I'm in shock. I'm rusty now...

    Camping mode for the 3

How is any app going to work where neither the car nor the phone have coverage? which is most likely scenario when some one actually goes "camping". From what I understand direct BT communication only allows lock/unlock but none of the other functions.
