Serious security issue with phone as a key

Heh, the idea of actually being able to use a fob, even the Tesla shaped one in my pocket literally never occurred to me as when I had a fob for my last car it was on my key ring in my pocket below my wallet - it would be such a pain to get at and the buttons far more likely to get pressed on...

Serious security issue with phone as a key

This is simply not true, you can open the frunk from the permanent notification from the Tesla app (though I don't use iDevices so I'm not sure if the notification is different, but based on other reports I've read I don't think it is). I fail to see how this is much different than pulling a fob...

    USB shuffle option missing

Shuffle showed up in V9 if you haven't tested it. Resume is still not exactly stable, but it sometimes works...

    Software Update 8.1 2018.34.1

If this is reliably true for you I might just have to pester my local ranger for an update... This is my only major frustration with the car...

I can't shift into gear fast enough. Fix it.

On at least some cars (mine included) putting it into gear without waiting for the status lights to clear would frequently crash the center console, so I'm pretty sure they put the forced delay in to prevent that from happening.

What’s the average Wh/mi you are getting

Definitely going to be an outlier here at just under 7000 miles since January with an average Wh/m of 308. I have the aero covers on, but I tend to use the acceleration quite a bit, have TACC set to +9 which translates to 79mph most of the time, and a lot of that driving was done in winter...

    USB shuffle option missing

Since I've been on 18.3 I've had it pretty consistently resume as long as I open the drivers door first (opening and closing anything other than the drivers door first, including the trunk, guarantees it will not resume playback). Mind, I did delete my phone from bluetooth at some point because...

What do you dislike most about your Model 3?

I find the the 18.3 software update has it pretty reliably resuming USB playback, though sometimes it takes awhile as it still erratically re-indexes the drive. The only times it doesn't seem to resume properly are if a door other than the drivers (which bizarrely includes the trunk) gets opened...

    RWD Winter driving

Drove my 3 in 3-4 decent (4-8") snows this winter plus some icy days, with the stock tires. Handled differently than a FWD would so took some re-learning, but the overall stability was as good as my old FWD Camry in similar conditions.

Model 3 charging limited near 50 kW

Pretty sure this is charger related rather than vehicle related. of the 4 Superchargers I've used, 2 limited to 40-50kW (briefly starting at 60 and then stabilizing at 40-50 within a minute or 2), while the other 2 both ran above 100. I've used both limited and unlimited on the same day, so no...

    USB shuffle option missing

USB playback is currently extremely limited, there is no shuffle and no automatic restart when you exit and re-enter the car. Really hoping that get addressed in an update soon (although it took well over a year for the S to get shuffle originally)...

Where was Tesla automatic emergency braking in this 60mph crash?

AEB is still limited to 50mph in the 3 (but not the S or X). It is expected to be activated up to I think 90mph in the near future when the fleet data for the system is complete enough for it to be safe to do so.

Model 3 Users - Firmware Bugs & Wish Lists & Undesirables

Which firmware are you on? My car had 50.10 when I picked it up and it constantly alarmed at me on the drive home (~3h), but after installing 50.11 that night it didn't alarm at me once, beyond the time I deliberately took my hands off the wheel to verify it was working, for another 4 hours of...

Model 3 Users - Firmware Bugs & Wish Lists & Undesirables

I had my phone disconnect as well and have a lot of issues reconnecting. Via google search I found a thread somewhere on this forum that recommended going into the app settings for Tesla changing the Modify System Settings to Allowed. Since doing this the phone key has worked great.
