    GEICO Insurance

I’ve been with Gieco for the past six years. 1 uninsured motorist claim (hit and run, dash cam footage proved at fault and also a police complaint) and one glass repair. 2 other accidents claimed through the other parties insurance and also no tickets. They increased my premium from...

    Red - paint quality issues

I’ve had a lot of paint issues on mine too. Mainly buffing issues from the service center. There is a spot on the passengers side mirror where there is paint missing but it’s looking unlikely that they will fix it. Response from the Tesla team so far has been “sucks that you didn’t spot it”...

Thanks for the information. I’ve reached out to him. Hopefully that moves it forward.

    ISA Communications / Scheduled Deliveries

Think it’s Nevada and Chicago for the most part.
  5. M

    Delivery Experience

ISA’s excuse for the latest setback (payment page reverting to the preorder display) is that it’s an IT issue affecting 100’s of people. That helps me how? I said I can initiate the transfer from my bank if they give me the final amount (how does it take 2 weeks to do this?) and Tesla wiring...

    Delivery Experience

While I agree the legislature is archaic and the added complications as well as inability to claim the tax credit are unnecessary at this point I’m planning on voting against Tesla just out of spite. Childish, I know, but I’m extremely mad right now .

    Delivery Experience

Tired calling the help line, but no luck getting anyone. “High call volume please call back later”. ISA still useless. In response to my email he says they are waiting for final payment to ship, which I know. Clearly his reading comprehension is a bit low because for that was the fifth...

    Delivery Experience

Yeah that’s what I plan on doing (TDA instead of CarMax). I’m just going to pay cash to settle it now and then replenish my bank account later. Need the current car to be able to go to work so I can’t sell till I take delivery. I mainly needed the TM3 so I could PPF wrap it as I had a friend...

OMG! My roof window has a crack!

$1500 for just the front windshield!? That’s outrageous. Just got an OEM replacement on my Mustang and that’s was $457 out the door.
  10. M

    Delivery Experience

Wow a lot of people going through the same thing it seems. On one end I hate dealerships because of constant lying and blatant money grabbing atempts but on the other, Tesla really needs to step their game up if their model is to be sustainable. No car after paying in full 2.5 weeks later is...

    Delivery Experience

I’m going to try and call the helpline when they open tomorrow. Hopefully I get some movement. Are the ISA’s based in Nevada? That’s the number mine has listed but to date he has never answered the phone. Communicating by email makes something that should be a 5 minute communication into a...

    Delivery Experience

My delivery experience has been horrible so far. My ISA has been unresponsive. Tesla’s trade in offer is $1500 below CarMax and they are refusing to match. I’ll sell directly but they’ve taken a week to communicate that and now I’ll have to get it reappraised. I’ve asked multiple times...

    PPF Model 3 dimensions request.

I went ahead and got a 60” x 18’ roll of Hexis BodyFence because it was cheap. I figure that way I can attempt an install and not be so disappointed if it doesn’t go well. Plan to do the hood, fenders, front bumper and a door (driver) if enough is left. Depending on how that goes I’ll buy...

Premium Connectivity Package and Order Date

Mines on order right now and I expect to complete the payment this Tuesday. Delivery will be in July however. Am I correct in interpreting this to mean I will have the premium version included for life? Or do they go by delivery date?

    PPF Model 3 dimensions request.

Looking to buy a bulk roll of PPF to cover my hood, front bumper, front quarter panels and front doors. Anyone kind enough to measure their 3 and give me the dimensions. I looked all over and couldn’t find much but based on the overall dimensions it looks like I’ll need about 20’.

    Dashcam Install Help

For everyone that has a 2ch setup. How did you do the rear if you had tint on? Stick it to the tint?

    Model 3 console wrap

For everyone looking for a clear look, Xpel sells a precut kit (includes a screen protector) for 59.99. The only thing I don5 like about it is that the cup holder is 2 sections. Everything else is great though.

    Houston Area - Electricity Plan

Got 10c/kwh for anyone else that’s interested. That fit my need best as the rate is pretty much the same at any consumption.

    Houston Area - Electricity Plan

Thanks. I looked into them but decided to go with Trieagle for now. The horrible reviews and high cost to cancel were a deterrent.
  20. M

    Who's tinted their windows?

From a rear dash cam perspective where do you guys mount it? Directly on the tint? If so how does that hold up and have you had any issues when changing camera models down the line?

    Houston Area - Electricity Plan

Any suggestions on a good electricity plan in the Houston area? I’m looking to lock in a rate for the next couple of years as I’ve heard 2 major plants are going to be shut soon lowering supply. Trouble I’m having is that my electricity consumption varies between 300-1400KW currently. I...

Houston Area - Electrician NEMA 14-50 Install

So I ended up using him. Not disappointed. Easy to work with over the phone, punctual, knows what he’s talking about/doing and best of all honest. Highly recommend using him as he has has performed a lot of Tesla installations. Also pricing included taxes and also a nice little hanger for...

Houston Area - Electrician NEMA 14-50 Install

So I got pricing today. $300 for right below the breaker box. $650 for the center of the back wall (so both spots will have access). Kicker is if I want a permit it will be another $300 bring the prices up to $600 for below the box and $950 for the back wall. I’m going to be shopping around...

Houston Area - Electrician NEMA 14-50 Install

Completely agree. Think the first 2 were just trying to pull a fast one. I also find it ridiculous that a lot of electricians in Houston try and charge $85 just to quote (goes towards final price if you pick them). This is with me providing the bill of materials and offering to send...

Put in a RFP today and will let you know once I find out more.

Houston Area - Electrician NEMA 14-50 Install

I do not have an open slot for the NEMA. I plan on having them swap 4 breakers (20A ea) out for the 2 combination type to create the space. Main breaker is a 150 and this should be good as the only other heavy draw will be the AC. Will try and grab a pic later. Agree that the pricing is...

    GEICO Insurance

Mechanical breakdown covers a lot more! For example if you were to hit a pothole and damage your suspension, you would only be out the $251 deductible (keep in mind the deductible will be paid per instance, so pothole + some other unrelated issue would mean paying it twice). Also as long as...

    Model 3 Add-On’s

Will be knocking that out when I wrap the car myself. Plus RPM has had a lot of bad reviews lately so I’m avoiding them till feedback gets better.
  30. M

    Model 3 Add-On’s

Good to know! I found a set of 4 and was looking to buy but hadn’t seen any reviews. Think I’ll bite the bullet and get the set tomorrow.
  31. M

    GEICO Insurance

Same with me. Been with Geico for 6 years. No at fault claims (2 accidents where the other parties insurance paid). They wanted to increase the premium by $100 a month. Liberty/State Farm/Progressive have all come in the same (as existing) or even cheaper. Will be doing my homework on...

Houston Area - Electrician NEMA 14-50 Install

Any recommendations on good reasonably priced electricians in the Houston area? I’ve got a couple of outrageous quotes. One was for $785 and the other was for $963. Both were for an install right below the breaker box. Afraid to even ask what it will cost for my preferred location (30’ run)...
  33. M

    Model 3 Add-On’s

That makes sense. I though it might be a visibility thing. I rarely use my wipers though. 95% of the time just the RainX I have is sufficient. Admittedly 99% of my driving is on the highway so that helps.
  34. M

    Model 3 Add-On’s

Was thinking about it but don’t want to pay the $500. Already been quoted $863 just to install the NEMA 14-50 right below the breaker box. I didn’t even mention Tesla. Waiting on a few more quotes right now.

Model S Window Tinting in Houston, Tx

I’m looking at getting the Ceraluxe tint on my model 3. Do you guys do the entire rear window in a single piece? Still haven’t decided if I want to do the whole rear glass or just over the factory tint line.
  40. M

    Model 3 Add-On’s

I view that as a requirement! Looking for electricians at the moment.

What do you do if you get a flat?

Thanks! Think I’m going to go with it.
  42. M

    Model 3 Add-On’s

    Any recommendations on jack pads?
  43. M

    Model 3 Add-On’s

I might go down this route later. Right now I plan on running the stock wheels with the Aeros to the end and then might switch the wheels out to 19’s once the tires are through.
  44. M

What do you do if you get a flat?

Recommendations on an air compressor? The one that came with my wife’s car didn’t work when I tried it and I’m not sure how good the Tesla one is. Main use would be top ups and contingency if a flat were to occur.

Model 3 Configured - Next Steps

I have been looking at financing and insurance for the 3 and wanted to get some feedback. Financing - Local credit union is offering 2.34%. TechCU is 2.49%. These are the lowest advertised rates but I should be eligible for them. Anyone find something cheaper? Insurance - Currently with...

    Model 3 Add-On’s

Finally configured my 3 early last week! Looking to see what accessories I should get. Here is my list so far. Dash cam - Planning on getting the dual channel Street Guardian dashcam. ($350) Seems to have better reviews than the Blackvue and better support too. The cloud functionality...

    Model 3 LR vs SR

Thanks for the feedback! Definitely helps me put an end to all my flip flopping between the two. If I decide to pull the trigger then LR it is. Going to swing by the showroom in Dallas to get a closer look.
  48. M

    Model 3 LR vs SR

Didn’t realize the speed penalty was that high! Still shouldn’t be an issue for most days but would require some changes in driving habbits based on the conditions. Probably more though than it’s worth.
  49. M

    Model 3 LR vs SR

Definitely agree the LR is a superior car. I was trying to see if the SR would fit my need. Sounds like it might but would require a lot more planning on my part and there still might be times I might have to stay in and work from home because the car might not be able to make it back...

    Model 3 LR vs SR

Thanks for all the feedback! Seems the consensus is to get the LR. I hadn’t considered headwinds and was a bit surprised to read the penalty might approach 1/3. We do get a lot of windy days down here so that’s definitely something for me to look at. Think my path forward now is going to be...
