    SiriusXM on Model Y

So frustrating that favorites are broken again. Favorites appear but the scroll wheel no longer cycles through them, instead it goes through all channels in numerical order. This has been an ingoing issue for years and speaks to how low a priority the entire infotainment ecosystem is when it...

Factory OEM SiriusXM nearly working in Tesla 2022 Model 3

So frustrating that favorites are broken AGAIN. Tesla software is really embarrassing, how do they not have better QA for their code?

    SiriusXM on Model Y

Thanks to everyone for your insight and support, especially dude7 who was kind enough to provide above and beyond support. I've had SXM running successfully on my (Intel) MY for a few weeks now but am struggling with occasional signal dropouts. I thought I could live with it but they are bad...

    SiriusXM on Model Y

I would be interested as well. I have read the full other thread and the guide and it feels like a lot of steps. I would love any additional insight and/or ways to simplify the process.

Factory OEM SiriusXM nearly working in Tesla 2022 Model 3

Thanks everyone for the amazing read/resources. Here is my situation, I have an (Intel) MY and have lifetime sirius that i'd love to get working OEM style on my MY. I've ready through the thread (and the guide that was graciouslly created) but don't feel super confident opening up my car, etc...

(Another) Gutters Thread - Roofer Saying Not Allowed to work on Solar Roof?

Hi, Apologies for another gutter thread but I am dealing with feels like an unusual situation. We had our Solar Roof installed about 2 years ago. Gutters weren't redone (mistake, I now know but wasn't aware at the time). Long tstory short, they are leaking in a couple of places (due to age, not...

Faded Tiles on Front of Home

Quick update, been over a month of playing the waiting game with Tesla Support. I have spoken to multiple agents/managers who keep telling me they have routed this to the local support team for onsite follow up, only to never hear anything again. I'm at the point where i'm considering filing a...

Faded Tiles on Front of Home

No, the planter boxes are empty so that wouldn't be it. And yes, I'm starting to think spray paint might be the issue. I'm unaware of them using it but it makes sense to me and I know our project was far more complex and time/resource consuming than Tesla originally planned so our team was...

Faded Tiles on Front of Home

Thanks everyone for the thoughtful replies. I guess it could be something from the planter boxes and/or fading paint above but I have not witnessed anything loose or coming down from that area. I appreciate the thought about the valley and the tiles both experiencing the same discoloration, so...

Faded Tiles on Front of Home

Hi everyone, Apologies if this has been covered elsewhere (I checked and didn't see anything), but our Solar Roof install included a small section of tiles on our front porch entryway (so highly visible from the street) and it appears that there has been some kind of fading on those tiles. I...

Tesla: we need more control over our PowerWalls

Thanks for sharing! Is there a way to input not only the cost of my TOU grid pricing, but the buyback rate from my utility? Offpeak, i'm paying .13kWh but my "buyback" rate is only .069kWh and during self powered, Tesla is generally sending solar to the PW (good) and then to the utility (bad)...

Software stuck on 2021.3.104, but Tesla thinks I am on 2021.4. How can this be?

Same, been on 2021.3.106 for 6 weeks since delivery (US / Vision MY)

Tesla app version 4.0.0 has app re design for both car and energy

Hi, Thanks for all the insight here. I am very frustrated by the removal of balanced mode. I have ToU with peak from (.50 kWh) from 5-9 weekdays and off peak the remainder at .13kWh. My buyback rate 24/7 from my utility is .069kWh. In balanced mode, the system did a reasonable job of...

    Solar Roof pricing funkiness

Without question they will honor your contracted price. The only situation where a price may change is if they have a price drop post signing and pre-install. That happened to me and I got a "rebate check" from Elon after I paid in full on the original amount and reached PTO.

    Tesla - damaged neighbor property

We had some property damage with our solar roof installation. Tesla were super responsive and on top of repair work. They offered to do some of it themselves but some of the work needed additional expertise. My onsite project lead connected me with an escalations manager who essentially had me...

Difference Between App From Grid kWh and Utility Energy Use kWh

Hi, I'm also experiencing a similar challenge. I recently completed inspection/granted PTO for an 8kw Solar Roof and am seeing my utility reporting a much higher draw than what the Tesla App is showing (often a 20-25% discrepancy). Below is a daily breakdown of what my utility is showing vs...

    Question on WC Gen2 vs Gen3 w/Solar+PW

Thanks everyone for the helpful suggestions here. To close this out (I hope!), it took a couple of additional onsite visits from the Tesla electrical team but they believe it was the specific brand of breaker they installed that was the culprit. The first breaker they installed didn't work well...

    Question on WC Gen2 vs Gen3 w/Solar+PW

Thanks, I'm a total electrical novice so all of that sounds beyond my skill/knowledge set but I get the general idea that i'm putting too much strain on my panel. If that was the case, why has it worked fine for years with my car charger and the same house demand, the only difference now is the...

    Question on WC Gen2 vs Gen3 w/Solar+PW

Thanks, the Tesla app was showing roughly 11kw of load. Tesla did actually replace one of the main breakers (125a) and the one that was tripping but within 30 minutes of plugging the car back in, it tripped again.

    Question on WC Gen2 vs Gen3 w/Solar+PW

Hi, My apologies as I may not have all the technical details correct but I just completed a Solar Roof (8kw) +2 PW install here in the Bay Area. We have a M3 and a Gen2 Wall Charger. When we plug the charger into our M3, the load pulling from the grid is about 10-11kw and is causing our main...

    Storm Watch for 1/25/2021

We just received PTO for our Alameda (city) Solar Roof install w 2 PW. And of course, it's a pretty major storm tonight, with 40-50mph winds and power outages all over the region. I have the App set for Storm Watch on Standby but am confused why Tesla hasn't activated it for the greater bay area...

    2020.48.x

While not "complaining", and I know this is well travelled terrain here, I am disappointed in how little attention the actual audio experience has received in the past few years. We spend FAR more time in our cars consuming audio than playing games or watching video, yet Elon seems to treat it...

    Current Solar Roof Wait?

Thanks everyone for the good insights here. Our planning permits were just approved yesterday and in speaking with my Tesla advisor, he said there is another (internal Tesla) review that needs to happen before I move into the scheduling stage and that might take 1-2 weeks before they open me up...

    Current Solar Roof Wait?

I placed my order around a month ago, permits filed last week and hoping that process clears in 2-3 weeks. From there i've been told it can be anywhere from 3-5 months in wait time (Bay Area) so it's going to be tight to get in for this years tax credit but i'm going to do everything I can to...

Could someone help me understand SGIP?

Thanks, yes, I've read all the threads on this and I get the parameters. To answer the above, i'm not deviating from the plan to have Tesla sell and install the PW's, I don't see any benefit given my use case. The only question i'm trying to determine is if I should add a 3rd PW (via Tesla) to...

Could someone help me understand SGIP?

Sorry to surface on old(er) thread but i'm curious if anyone has been successful going down this road. I'm scheduled for an 8kw Solar Roof install this fall along with 2 PW's and was contemplating adding a third to quality for the Step 3 SGIP rebate, but it really does seem like a long and...

Solar Roof order August 19, 2020

Yes, it can be done. They quoted me an add-on for our attached garage but it wasn't cost or energy efficient so we passed. We are putting the powerwalls inside our garage however, so they quoted me some custom trenchwork to make that happen.

Just trying to figure out the economics, thanks in advance

I would appreciate any advice here as well. The math and usage is a bit confusing. I have a less than ideal roof for solar on an older Victorian home (lots of varied sections, not a ton of eastern exposure, etc..). Private solar installers I have spoken with think at most I should put 24 panels...

    SiriusXM Bluetooth Docking Station

Yes, I know for certain that at least some of the appropriate people at Tesla are aware that their infotainment offering for the M3 was lacking in the US. Audio is FAR and away the biggest form of media consumption in a vehicle, so while the video efforts are nice, audio support is key. Spotify...
  33. D

    SiriusXM Bluetooth Docking Station

Really? I think that they have heard loud and clear that the infotainment area has been a weak spot in the M3. and finally responded by bringing Spotify to US cars, and added video entertainment with Netflix, Hulu, YouTube. I was particularly heartened to see Twitch added in a recent update, as...

    SiriusXM Bluetooth Docking Station

True, but that isn't much of an issue for me at least. I don't want another device in my car (so the bluetooth or FM dock is out), but an App that uses Tesla Premium data and is thoughtfully integrated to my screen/voice comments would be very welcome.
  35. D

    SiriusXM Bluetooth Docking Station

YES! Short of true hardware integration (which we know isn't happening), adding it as an App is a close second. I am hopeful that this is on the 2020 roadmap (somewhere between games I could care less about i'm sure)
  36. D

    Spotify in USA

I think that is ideally what we're asking for, an App Store, but instead of using our own data, using Tesla data via a clean integration. Failing that, a focus on Spotify and Sirius make the most sense as starting points but because Spotify already has an integration outside of the US and is a...

    Spotify in USA

Agreed. Someone please tweet Elon, this is getting ridiculous. Improvement in Music (Spotify, in the US, Adding Sirius via an "App Store", and fixing the USB platform) are meaningful and reasonably easy changes that would be of benefit to all. Netflix/YouTube is nice, but it's only usable when...

X-Care Extended Warranty for Model 3

Apologies if this is covered in the fine print, but are these transferable upon vehicle sale? My experience is that selling a car privately with some warranty left has been much easier than without. Thanks!

Epidemic of Model 3 small window break-ins

So this happened to us (second time!!) in our local (Alameda) Trader Joes parking lot at 4:30 in the afternoon, in the same lot where there is a bank of superchargers. In our case, we had the rear seats down and nothing in the car, doesn't seem to matter to these geniuses (sentry was off...

    RWD in the Snow

Thanks for the insight. Yes, we are unsure what the conditions will be as we are driving from the Bay Area on Wednesday, but if there is a storm and 80 is under chain control, it feels like taking the SUV (2015 Highlander AWD) makes more sense since it's AWD and we have chains, but if it's post...

    RWD in the Snow

Jumping in here. We are not frequent snow drivers but are planning a trip to Tahoe (Truckee) this week. We have an original config RWD 3 with the factory all weather tires it came with. We have another vehicle (SUV) we could use that has all weather tires but we have chains for if necessary and...

    Comprehensive USB Bug List

I don't use twitter but I really think a ping to Elon (perhaps with a link to this string). Something like "91 pages of issues/bugs on the USB media player going back years. Any hope of a fix on the horizon?" might help... Given the volume of recent layoffs, I do not think the usb player is on...

    Lessons learned about USB audio

+1000 to this. The multitude of longstanding issues plaguing the USB playback experience is far and away the most disappointing thing about my 3. I have a decent number of songs on my USB 3 drive and it always takes 6-10 minutes to rescan every time I start the car. Compounding that with the...

Qi Wireless Charging Poll: Jeda or Nomad?

Interesting that you received communication from them. I am in the promised 11/30 delivery date group. I have yet to receive any kind of status update or delay notification. Model 3 Software Update 46.2

I was receiving updates generally on the early(ish) side until 4-6 weeks ago when I received 42.2.1 and now haven't received a thing. Is that just bad luck or do you think I should call Tesla and ask them to force update me to a new install or should I just be patient? Nothing corrupted or...

    Sirius XM

That's BS. They could have easily supported this through an App integration, just like Slacker, but not include the sub fee. They really need to simply open up the walled garden, even a little so we can bring our own subs (Spotify and SXM please!!).

Epidemic of Model 3 small window break-ins

Happened to me a couple of months ago in Oakland. Glass shop said they were so backordered that it could be a month before they got the part. Took it to Tesla and thankfully they were able to do the work in a few days, and at a lower cost (I think around $250). This is absolutely an epidemic...

Version 9 looks like on its way finally!!

While I do like many of the updates, anyone else severely disappointed that the infotainment system is still a total complete mess and received almost no love? I am really tempted to suggest we tweetstorm Elon and ask wft? I mean the usb thread alone has dozens of legitimate fixes/bugs that need...

    LTE Connection Issues

Somewhat related, our M3 consistently takes up to 3-5 minutes in the morning to "wake up" and find service. It's generally rock solid once on the road. I should add that this is in an area with reliable AT&T service (my phone has fine service). I am wondering if this is expected behavior or if I...
