    Front roof applique removal?

Disregard, I was able to fix it without removing the applique.

    Panoramic roof front applique removal?

I was able to pinpoint the location of the leak. By lowering the headliner a bit I can see the exact spot of the leak. If you go directly upward from the #14 in the diagram you can see where the frame bolts to the roof. I believe it's that joint leaking. Anyway, I was able to use a liquid...

    Front roof applique removal?

I have a leak, pinpointed to the area below the front roof applique. If I can get the applique off I'll caulk it and re-install the applique. Problem is, I can't get the applique off. I believe it's glued down. Any way to remove it without destroying it!

    Panoramic roof front applique removal?

I have a 2014 MS with a leak in the front left panoramic roof. I removed some of the headliner and pinpointed the leak to the area under the front applique, which is the part just above the windshield. If I can get the applique off I will be able to caulk the leaking area. Problem is, I can't...

    Roof applique removal

Did some Googling.... In case anyone is wondering what the copper tubes in the photo are used for, it's to hold the cable that actuates the opening/closing of the roof. The motors are located below the dash.

    Roof applique removal

Thanks for that info, that is what I suspected. So water can get past the seal and just drain out through either drain. I was thinking water in the rear roof area would just flow down into the channel under the rear hatch cover, and flow onto the rear bumper area. I wasn't sure there was a...

    Roof applique removal

Great photos. I see you clamped the drain hose. Mine was press fit and when I opened the headliner partially I saw it was disconnected. I glued it back on, but couldn't get me hand in there to add a clamp. Not enough room without completely taking down the headliner. Any idea what the...

    Roof applique removal

Yes, I'd love to get that applique off to see what going on under it. I'll let my caulking dry before doing any further investigation, since I can't test it with water till it hardens. Unfortunately I only had the slow curing stuff on hand..

    Roof applique removal

Yes, flex seal would do too. I wound up using black 3M 5200. Probably as good as anything else. Amazing stuff and used in marine settings, above and below the waterline. Anyway, does anyone have any idea what those straps are used for? I pressed too hard on the one on the passenger side...

    Roof applique removal

I'll do that. I think I have a tube in my shop.

    Roof applique removal

Yes, the drain tube is clear. I see the electrical tape on both sides, and it sure doesn't look like it could keep water out. Do you suggest removing the tape and using caulk to seal it?

    Roof applique removal

I have a 2014 MS with a panoramic roof. The problem is that I have a leak over the driver's seat. I pulled down enough headliner to see that the drain tube (which wasn't clogged) had come off the drain fitting. I re-installed it and although the roof leak is better, it's still there. I can...

    MS rear door hinge?

I checked the parts catalog and was unable to find the rear left door hinge. I wound up contacting service and for 195.00 plus tax they are putting in a new hinge, and painting it to match body color. Seems like a fair price to me, and I'll save the hassle of painting and installing.

    MS rear door hinge?

I'm having a heck of a time locating a rear left upper door hinge for my 2014 MS. I'm out of warranty and want to do the repair myself. I've located several lower door hinges, but not upper. I believe Tesla will paint to match the color, if they do it, bringing up the repair cost. Any ideas?

    Car Wash Mode PLEASE!

I just had a nightmare at a carwash a few days ago. I was low on battery and while in tow mode I get a low battery warning and it goes out of tow mode and into Park. The car behind me was right on my back bumper. I could have sworn he was hitting my bumper, but checking later I didn't see any...

Dash Cam Install for Model S

Finally installing my old dash cam I had in my 2016 Prius, in my 2014 Model S. I have auto-pilot and know that the sensor (camera?) is where the dash cam might be installed. Must I mount the dash cam so it isn't in front of the sensor (the one behind the rear view mirror)?

    Great Milford CT experience

I took mine in today for warranty air bag replacement, and a noise in the rear right. They gave me a loaner, and yes, free supercharging. Turns out I won't need to charge, since they called a few hours later and said my car is ready. Great service, as usual in Milford. I prefer to travel...

    Great Milford CT experience

I know, it's an old thread, but I thought it would be a good one for my question. I've had great service at the Milford location in the past, and have a service appointment for next Monday. My question is, if they have a loaner available, do they include free Supercharging? I don't have an...

    DashCam Footage

I may be incorrect, but I've read the video loops after one hour is recorded, and that an hour uses about 1.8GB. Seems all that is needed is a 4GB (2GB would even work) and anything larger would be wasted space. Remember you can't use it for music files, since the dashcam needs it's own USB stick.

My Very Detailed CPO Buying Experience

Just an update to my earlier post. My service center visit was very impressive. They did the necessary repair in a few days. Gave me a 2018 MS loaner, which was a nice touch One of the things I brought it for turned out to be normal operation, which was a noisy AC compressor. Apparently they...

My Very Detailed CPO Buying Experience

I just want to update my above post, since I've had my CPO S85 for 2 months. Overall I was very happy with my experience buying a CPO. Car looked brand new when I picked it up. I read horror stories of dirty interiors and scratches on brand new cars, but luckily I saw none of that. I...

    Supercharger - Danbury, CT

I was there today and it's back to normal. All spaces open, with the exception of myself and a Model X. I wonder if management will have a "hands off" approach with offenders, not wanting to make enemies of mall paying customers.

    Supercharger - Danbury, CT

Just got my CPO MS a few weeks ago, and charged at Danbury for the first time this week, during a power outage that lasted a week. Luckily Danbury SC wasn't affected by the outage, but 85 percent of homes in the next town were. SC coming online when it did really helped me out. My generator...

This couldn't come at a better time for me. I live in the next town, Brookfield, and just got my cpo 2 weeks ago. I'll be charging there in the next couple of days.

My Very Detailed CPO Buying Experience

I've been waiting over two months for my 2014 CPO and I'm hoping it will be worth the wait. I'm really wasnt in a hurry to get it,, and hopefully there will be a break in the weather just in time for the tentative delivery, which will be one week from now. Also, I was vacationing in Key West...

    Supercharger - Danbury, CT

Thanks for thr info. I'm out of town for the rest of the month, and hopefully my MS will be ready for when I get back home. I'll be back with more questions for sure.

    Supercharger - Danbury, CT

After perusing through some of this 19 page thread Hey Tesla, there is a need for that NEMA 14-30 adapter still! it seems the Tesla adapter is the only one that will automatically turn down the charge rate to 24A, and the adapter is no longer available. So, I need to be darn sure I check to be...

    Supercharger - Danbury, CT

Interesting using the 14-30R adapter to force the rate a 24A. My question is, will the charger know to knock it down to 24A, or is there a possibility of using the full 30A? I'm using 10ga wire, with a 30A breaker, so at 30A for an extended period, I can see a problem in the making.

    Supercharger - Danbury, CT

Yes, I'm semi-retired, so no hurry in charging. I had a Volt, and did well with the 110v standard line. Of course, the MS is a whole different story, but the 30A might work for me. I already have the 6-50 to 14-50 adapter so I'm all set. My welder receptacle is 6-50. Luckily, the Tesla...

    Supercharger - Danbury, CT

Yes, I'll be in the same situation. Initially, I'll be charging at 24A, since I already have a 30A line, which I had been using for a welder. In the Spring I plan on installing at least a 40A dedicated line for charging only.

    Supercharger - Danbury, CT

Just joined the forum. Stumbled on the site searching for info on the Danbury chargers. I'll be getting my ordered CPO Model S next month, so I'm hoping the Danbury chargers will be up and running soon. I originally thought they were to be destination chargers only, which I had read I believe...
