    Model 3 Width

My garage door opening is 93 1/2" wide. Plenty big enough with 8.5 inches on each side after the mirrors are folded, but my wife still wanted some extra assurance when pulling into the garage. I bought two of these on amazon and mounted them in the upper corners of my garage door...

    Charging port

This is the trick I was missing. I was holding the end 12" back, you know, so the door doesn't swing open and hit the connector. But they are correct, even 6" back is no good. I have to be within 2" of the upper left corner of the door, then it works. Of course, tapping the door always works...

    Charging port

I haven't been to a supercharger yet, but I can confirm that on two different HPWC's that the button on the handle does not open the charging port. The car is unlocked and tapping the door does open it. The button on the handle of the included UMC with my Model 3 does open the charging port...

Why does Model 3 charge at 32 amps and not 40 like my S?

I can confirm with the HPWC on a 60A breaker I am charging my Model 3 LR at 48A. The table at Home Charging Installation lists the Model 3 doing up to 48A as well. Of course, the next table down on that page confirms the SR will only have a 32A on-board charger.
