Model 3 Highland Performance/Plaid Speculation [Car announced 04.23.2024]

That's why I'll be going for the chrome delete-delete. JK I deleted my 2018 and never looked back. Love that the M3L is coming just after its 5 year anniversary, it's run really well but I'm itching for an upgrade

Wiki MASTER THREAD: Actual FSD Beta downloads and experiences

I took a video of the maiden trip that I may or may not post. The audio is terrible, as it's from a GoPro type camera on a suction mount attached to the sunroof (how does Teslabjorn do it?). Very rumbly. If Youtube isn't complete inundated with FSD vids by this evening, I'll consider editing it...

Wiki MASTER THREAD: Actual FSD Beta downloads and experiences

@momo3605 Good to hear you had success with the intersections. I'm sure I'll get some successes on subsequent trips. And I thought the same about the first wave favoring suburb driving. It's in my head canon that the Safety Score isn't there to rate a driver. One could argue that if FSD is...

Wiki MASTER THREAD: Actual FSD Beta downloads and experiences

@EVNow , I think you can do this in one of two ways. Either use AP without Navigate on Autopilot and I think it acts as AP. Or go into Autopilot settings and unclick FSD to use NOA without FSD

Wiki MASTER THREAD: Actual FSD Beta downloads and experiences

Just took my maiden FSD voyage with a lunchtime trip to Home Depot in the Chicago suburbs. On the outbound trip, did a rolling start on the expressway (e.g. started with AP and let it hand off to FSD at the exit) and then on the inbound trip started in the Home Depot parking lot. Initial...

Walkup unlock not working, locks perfectly

@NORMGAS, I recently updated my phone to the Galaxy Flip S 5G and have seen a similar issue. First I would use akenham's suggestion to disable optimization for the Tesla app. I'm not sure if it also helps, but I've disable optimization for the Bluetooth app as well. Lastly every time I walk up...

New car navigation/map/screen issue, charging question

Hi Murf, here's a test that may help you out. In the Toybox (I believe, my car is in service and I can't find the exact location) is a drawing / paint app. Next time you get the screen jitters, try turning that app on. It can help diagnose if you're getting phantom screen presses. If that's the...

"Play [music]" voice command brings up search results and no longer starts music automatically

Thank you! I thought the V10 update broke search completely, as a search would bring up only podcasts and caraoke and the occasional artist which didn't seem to work. I logged out of Spotify and at least I can search Slacker again.

    Winter tires Model 3

That's my service center as well! Great place, but the most backed up with service in the area. I saw Discount Tire stores them too, for $70 if I recall. I have some corner space in a garage so I opted out. If you buy tires from them, they'll take care of the swaps, rotation, and balances for...

    Winter tires Model 3

Chicagoland owner here. Last winter was interesting, in that we didn't get snow until about January, then that whole polar vortex thing... The stock 18s with MXM4s on a RWD were not very confident in snow and ice. On July 4 I got summers and rims, and on Labor Day Blizzak WS90s for the Aero...

    Time to Replace Tires

Having just changed tires from the MXM4s to the Pilotsport 4S (LR RWD, 18"), I concur with almost all these points. While noticeable, consumption increase estimate of less than 30Wh/mi seems about right. The handling and wet/dry traction have been top notch. For example, in the rain the MXM4s...

Severe problem with Auto Lane Changes

I've seen the same lane change issue on 2019.5.15. On open expressway, it will hesitate and sometimes cancel a lane change. This will happen both with traffic and with no cars around. This wasn't ever an issue on previous versions, so I assume it's been somewhat recalibrated.

    Version 9

I've just installed version 9 and decided to take a 200 mi. night trip because I heard that some folks needed to recalibrate their AP (spoiler: the Model 3 does not need to calibrate after ver 9). I've compiled some initial thoughts and some changes from 2018.32 that I hadn't seen reported...

Model 3 Aero Wheel Cap Kit

I may also get the aero wheels for long distance trips and caps for every day. The duct tape method seems hit or miss. Any thoughts on removing the center cap with a suction cup? I am unsure of the dimensions (they're not listed on the Tesla site), but perhaps a 3 inch roof suction cup to help...

Chicago - Non Owner - Ready to Order Mail

Congrats! It's good to see Chicago non-owners are getting their invites. Since I reserved a non-owner 3 last week, I expect to join you in about 12 months... As an aside, I was at the Westmont showroom yesterday test driving an S (I've never been in a Tesla before. Review: awesome). I saw a...
