Model 3 has no spare tire

This is precisely why I don't like it that Teslas don't have spare tires. The problem is not that one would have to purchase a spare separately but that it takes a lot of useful cargo space. My 2007 Audi A4 has a full size spare with a dedicated compartment (as all spares do) so it doesn't take...

Tesla To Charge $1k For Black Paint

To match the 'base white' of the Trabbi, Tesla would also have to make the Model 3 out of papier mache. Oops, didn't mean to give Elon ideas ...

    2019 Model 3 Predicted Changes

Well if they want to compete with Audi they should drop the price of the SR/PUP/AWD and LR/PUP/AWD by about 5K to make them in line with the A4 and S4 respectively. Maybe they can offer a premium package with less capable audio, even cloth, but keep the glass roof and decrease the price of...

What do reading glass users think of the display?

I didn't mean to start a discussion on the best solution for longsightedness, but thanks for the pointers anyway. My impression is that the touchscreen in the '3' is closer to the eye than a regular instrument cluster. In our A4 the latter is not quite at an infinity focal distance, but close...

What do reading glass users think of the display?

We were checking out a Model 3 in the Tesla dealership and my wife commented that she might have problems with the display due to her becoming long sighted. I am also using reading glasses and the display wasn't a problem, but then I don't need reading glasses that much. I was wondering what...

    Model 3 everywhere!

I was being sarcastic and perhaps a little unfair, after all I've seen a few leafs in the area. At any rate given the concentration of X and S models the lack of model 3 is surprising.

    Model 3 everywhere!

During a 15 minute drive in Princeton, NJ last night I saw about 10 Model S and X's and no model 3's. Got to be in a poorer part of the state to see a '3'.

    Flat tires? Fix-a-flat?

In the 10 years I've had an 80 mile daily commute in New Jersey I've blown a tyre three times. My A4 has a full size spare (with alloy wheel) so fixing a flat takes 15 minutes and then I can take my time shopping for a replacement for the flat. Before that, during the Big Dig in Boston, my Golf...

Yep. The red one from the picture in one of the previous posts is on display!

Woo-hoo. Cherry Hill, NJ Tesla store officially open 4/13/2018

Funny how you've triangulated your location. I saw the first sentence of your post and immediately thought you must be in Princeton only to be proven right a few words below. I commute to the Cherry Hill area every day, but will not take a detour to the new store unless there is a Model 3 there...

    hypothetical Question-Life Span of a 3?

Doesn't this all boil down to the life of the battery? Electric motors should last forever and we have prior experience with suspension and mechanical components on other cars.

    Wait for AWD?

What about regenerative braking? Isn't that supposed to be better on the AWD?After all, the front wheels on my ICE cars have always had stronger brakes than the rear (larger disks and calipers or disk versus drum).

    Some math help, please.

My bad on not reading the first post carefully. In the spirit of this excellent discussion, what do you guys think the mileage would be in miles per gallon of electrons? So we have 6.23 * 10^-23 miles per electron and Avogadro's number is 6.02 * 10^23 mol^-1. So we get 3.75 miles per mol of...

    Some math help, please.

You guys are great at math, but not so good at physics. What you should really be calculating is the distance per electron-Volt.
