2017 X 100D. What is a degradation level that will trigger a battery replacement ?

@Marcboy I have never heard of any battery getting replaced due to degradation. The HV battery does get replaced for some, but it is due to other failure mechanisms, not battery degradation. I have always thought the 30% degradation number given by Tesla on newer cars is somewhat a red herring -...

    model x 2017 FSD upgrade

MCU2 will give you alternate routes. I fully think that Tesla should have paid for MCU2 updates for cars that purchased FSD since it seems to be necessary hardware. But it’s not a hill that I am willing to die on and for me, I am really glad that I just got the MCU2 update as soon as it was...

    model x 2017 FSD upgrade

EAP has the all-important (to me) lane change on highways. And I have been in unfamiliar cities when the Navigation on Autopilot changing of highways has been important to me. So EAP is good, but I really don’t care anything about Summons. As I have used FSD Beta for several years now, I have...

Why oh why isn’t this a thing on the model X? The model 3, model Y and model S all have middle arm rests for the back seat.

    Model X 2020 teething issues

I prefer the phone as key but the legacy model X key fob works for me in a totally passive mode. I have not touched it in years, it just has to be buried in something I am carrying. It will passively unlock all doors without touching the fob. Here are my settings. I am guessing you may have the...

    Testa Model X - p90(82K miles) vs 100D(92k Miles)

An end of 2016 would be essentially the same as a beginning 2017. A beginning of 2016 vs an end of 2017 would be pretty different.

Wiki FSD’s Earliest Adopters Still Waiting

V12 is currently only on 2024.3.*. OTA updates can’t go backwards. You have to wait for FSD V12 to get to a 2024.8.* or higher number version.

    2017 Model X 100D-FSD?

@Averdi, that 2017 model X ‘s VIN is within 1000 of mine. I have had it since it was new and it has been a good car. Your question about FSD…. I have FSD beta on my 2017 model X. It has performed essentially the same as FSD on my model 3. It has gotten all the same FSD updates until V12 2...

    Lug nut covers?

    I think so. I can confirm that I have interchanged lug nut covers for a 2013 model S (19” wheels), a 2017 model X (20” wheels), and a 2018 model 3 (18” wheels).

    2020 Model X LR+ w/FSD 40k miles for $48k - yes or no?

No it does not. The turn signal does not bring up the side camera view on my 2017 model X (with MCU2.) I believe this feature was never added for any of the vertical screen cars. I have wondered why not. It is indeed at the top of my list for things that this legacy car is missing.

    2020 Model X LR+ w/FSD 40k miles for $48k - yes or no?

@billionaiire, I don’t know why you are getting such negative responses and very little content in the responses. I have not been shopping for a used Tesla so I do not know what they are going for. But to me, this sounds like a good deal. The long range plus was the last of the vertical screens...

Thinking of trading 2018 M3 LWD for 2018 MX 100D with FSD

It can have FSD capability listed as a spec on the car without having the ability to download FSD Beta because of MCU1. Statistically, a 2018 is more likely to have MCU2 tho.

Thinking of trading 2018 M3 LWD for 2018 MX 100D with FSD

You would want to know if it has MCU1 or MCU2. Builds before April 2018 had MCU1 but it could have been upgraded to MCU2 for about $2500. I have essentially your currently model 3 and this model X (mine is late 2017, very similar to 2018). I love the model X but it has always felt much more...

    FSD Subscription Timing

    FSD Subscription Timing

And yes, I wanted to confirm because there was some conflicting guidance in this thread, indicating it might be possible to get a FSD version without it being FSD Beta. I don’t think that is ever true any more.

@Odysseus007, wow that is a long list of things. I also have a late 2017 100D, 7 seater, black. Like @scottf200, first thing I wonder about is your MCU status. If it is MCU1 did it have eMMC chip replaced, or even better, has it been upgraded to MCU2? My car often had a wide array of varying...

Wiki FSD’s Earliest Adopters Still Waiting

I thought interior cameras were introduced with the 2021/2022-ish refresh. If so, all vertical screens are missing interior cameras and are referred to as legacy by Tesla. I believe the vertical screen and the lack of interior cameras could delay the roll out to us. For example, no interior...

Wiki FSD’s Earliest Adopters Still Waiting

Teslafi clearly shows FSD12 only on 2023.* versions. Yeah, I installed the 2024 version. I always just say yes to new updates and then later see what changes they bring. My gut reaction was just that they have taken us out of the leading edge of the development, not that they will stop giving us FSD updates. I hope that is the case, but this...

Wiki FSD’s Earliest Adopters Still Waiting

No. Tesla refers to all vertical screen cars as legacy. There are many vertical screen model S and X’s that came with the FSD computer and many more that didn’t need the exterior cameras upgraded. Many legacy S/X’s needed no hardware updates for FSD. My 2017 model X with MCU2 and originally...

2022 Used Model X Plaid or 2024 New Model X Non Plaid

A Plaid with 22” wheels holds no appeal for me. A rough ride, lower efficiency and acceleration I would never need nor use. Model X Supercharging without account.

I would notice if unexpected charges showed up on my credit card. But I’m not sure most people would notice within 2 weeks. Regardless, one of the best things about Tesla is the app access. You really should get that, both for your own convenience and to secure your car.

    Model X Supercharging without account.

If it shows a $ amount in the car for your last supercharging session, then it is not free supercharging. If it shows $0, then it has free supercharging. Another test is simply to look at any supercharging location on the map in the car. Cars with free supercharging don’t list the $/kWh price.

@Rot rjn the owner of the Tesla account associated with the VIn gets charged. Unless it has free supercharging. When you supercharge, does it show a $ value? If so, someone else is paying. Question about buying a 2020 Tesla Model X

A few random thoughts: I have no idea what an infotainment upgrade means for a 2020. That is usually referring to a MCU1 to MCU2 conversion, but 2020’s came with MCU2. 22” tires reduce your range and are easier to have tire/rim issues. Many choose them anyway. I would not. The previous repair...
