    Ontario EVIP rebates update

More of the general public is happy on the cancellation than those who want it to continue. The Carbon taxes were a big part of the Liberal defeat in Ontario and I suspect the same thing will happen to Justin federally.

Ontario EV Rebates Cancelled July 11, 2018

I received a warning letter yesterday indicating I have to keep the car registered in my name and plated for 1 year or pay back the rebate. They said they do audits regularly. Funny it is 7 months after I bought the car. Only 5 months to go. HAHAHA

    Model 3 Standard Plus Questions

I was thinking Tesla will turn it on in the future for new sales as demand falls and they need to keep sales going. Same for the speakers that seem to be turned off. End of quarter demand drivers will get more interesting as incentives continue to fall.

what the heck happened to the reservation list?

I think many of the others are just not that exited as they were day one. They is always a frenzy when everyone wants something they can't get (Similar to video console releases in the past). Now that the 3 is not so new and readily available, interest has fallen.

    Long range travel

Hope you don't hit a big traffic delay or a road closure. We were rerouted 75 miles and 3 hours delay for an I75 closure in Tennessee due to a rock fall. Would of been totally screwed (not stopping in the hill country of Tennessee if it can be avoided). Passed lots of gas stations but no...

what the heck happened to the reservation list?

The reservations were for a product promised but never delivered. At the time the promise was a 35K car before incentives. Those incentives were $7,500 to $10,000+. The idea of getting a new to the market 25K 200 mile range EV was very exciting to many hence the large number of reservations. Now...

There's Nothing We Can Do About Getting ICE'D

They have to move the charging spots to the most inconvenient locations for any change to happen. Just as many EV owners think it is a private privileged parking spot charging or not. ICE drivers see a prime spot for EV's and see no reason not to park there. Private property owners do not want...

FSD, would like that $1K back please

Then what happens when those who pay 35K for the base model see is reduced to 25K next year? All other car companies have had that happen for years. Those who buy the new model pay top dollar to be first. Then as demand falls so do prices. Other manufactures do it thru rebates but in the end it...

    Supercharger "pirate adapters"?

    That's not my quote.
  41. A

    Supercharger "pirate adapters"?

Not hard when the technology is dead. No one makes VHS equipment any longer. Beta was always a niche market that never became a standard. Maybe the Tesla charger will become the standard when no one charges a car anymore.
  42. A

    Supercharger "pirate adapters"?

Still Tesla charge port is not a standard and will not continue. Betamax was better than VHS back in the day but VHS became dominate and BETA died no matter what Sony did.

    Electrify Canada

Without home charging an EV is not a good choice for anyone. The advantage of EV's is charging at night when there is surplus electricity. Charging during the day results in the need to build new generating stations and should be discouraged (Maybe thru much higher prices).

Buying one that was made in the tent

They are still building them in a tent now. I don't think it really effects build quality in any way. The real issue is the paint quality and I believe all painting is done in the same paint area for both lines (for the factory and the tent).
  45. A

    Supercharger "pirate adapters"?

Tesla chose a non-standard adaptor. Looks like no one went with them. I suspect to see Tesla switch to CCS soon in North America also.

I really think VW/Audi will be the major EV players in all segments within 10 years.

Unsold Model 3 sitting in lot awaiting buyers?

We are 7 weeks into 2019. If no US spec model three's have been built since 2018, sales must be really week. It may be 2 weeks production but how many weeks of sales?

Unsold Model 3 sitting in lot awaiting buyers?

Wow. If they haven't been building North American cars since the end of 2018 how do they have that much inventory now? Might be time to mark them down to 35K HaHaHa
