    Positive Service Experience

Hi Everyone, Last week I feared the worst. Driving in the Bay Area, on Highway 280 I encountered a (concrete?) hose on the freeway. I was not able to change lanes due to other cars approaching from behind me, so I had to steer within my lane only, but I was not able to avoid impact. There was a...

Be careful, park with your rear seat down

I talked with the owner of the red model 3. Yes, his sentry mode activated (headlights), but for some reason his flash drive wasn't recording. He was still on 2019.8.5.

Be careful, park with your rear seat down

Last week while at dinner in San Jose, CA, there were a few cars broken into. Standard process where a guy peeks into the rear of the Tesla (or whatever other car), breaks a window if he doesn't see what he wants to see, folds down the rear seat, and then checks the trunk for goodies. I try to...

Some stats from myself and people I know my car, RWD Model 3 delivered end of June = no update yet (listed on TeslaFi) car #2, Performance AWD Model 3 delivered mid August = no update yet (TeslaFi trial period expired) car #3, AWD Model 3 delivered last week = updated last night to 39.7 (not...

    Teslafi and apparent insomnia

Here was my Model 3 experience last week as we were out of town. I turned off TeslaFi data logging, but I had my local script checking car status (just using the API call listAllVehicles) every 15 seconds without waking up the car. This gave me an accurate picture of when the car was sleeping...

Battery Management System (BMS) Bootloader Update

ok, software update complete, it went from 2018.26.3 be4b11e to 2018.28.2 e3592d9. I wonder what this will bring me.

Battery Management System (BMS) Bootloader Update

strangely, I got another prompt (at home) tonight to update the software, even though it was updated exactly 1 week ago (Aug 1). I started it and I'll see if it changes the version# or not. Since the update last week to 2018.26.3 be4b11e, I have observed two main things: (1) I no longer get a...

Battery Management System (BMS) Bootloader Update

Same for me, took my car yesterday to the Sunnyvale service center, they initiated the update to 2018.26.3 be4b11e. Last night was my car's first night of full sleep. I'm also hoping to never see the low windshield fluid warning again.

    Teslafi and apparent insomnia

in a surprising turn of events, my Model 3 was upgraded to software version 2018.26.3 be4b11e yesterday around lunch time. It was online from noon till about 4pm, but then after that, sleeping the whole time (as of 8am today). No waking up every few hours for no reason! Yesterday: Today:

    Teslafi and apparent insomnia

I see similar behavior on my Model 3 today. I turned off my web checking process last night so only TeslaFi is monitoring my car. I removed the drive to work section, but the rest of the day is mixed with portions of sleep (~2 hours) and portions of idle.

    Teslafi and apparent insomnia

Thanks! I had not checked this Sleep Mode before thinking it was an always-sleeping option. After I enabled this, then the car started sleeping shortly afterwards. I'll play around with this to see how well it performs. I see it still checking every minute to report it is still asleep, so...

    Teslafi and apparent insomnia

Here you go... I'm at a hotel, first night (first picture) it slept from midnight to 2am. It has been awake the whole time since. Next two pictures are night 2

    Teslafi and apparent insomnia

I currently have deep sleep mode enabled from 11pm - 8am. Also, for the past few days when I get home and know I'm not going anywhere the rest of the day I manually turn logging off on TeslaFi (and resume it in the morning about 10-15 minutes before I go somewhere). I have never tried sleep mode...

    Teslafi and apparent insomnia

Here is an example of what my car does overnight (for the past 15 hours). I highlighted one hiccup in my data gathering process where all the API calls didn't work. This whole time the car was parked in a garage....

    Teslafi and apparent insomnia

I've had my Model 3 for a little over 2 weeks. I've decided to keep TeslaFi after the 2 week trial despite the drain it causes. The past couple days I have been experimenting with manually turning off data collection in TeslaFi when I know I will not be driving the car, as well as enabling deep...

    Model 3 App and API

My API calls have been working since I started. My key learning was using the right CarID from the listAllVehicles command. My earliest successful command was at mile 32.793488 on my odometer (from the API result). This video helped explain everything...

Here was the first email I received (at 10am today)... Your vehicle is almost ready for shipment (woohoo)! A few things to go over: You qualify for Tesla Direct! One of our Model 3 Specialist will bring your car to your home! Your Tesla App will be fully functional as soon as the specialist...

    VIN Assignment

yes. Another interesting point, the email from Tesla was a person from Las Vegas. At any rate, I politely declined saying I didn't want to wait for personal delivery (not sure if it would have taken longer). After I answered/confirmed all initial questions, a few hours later I had a date, time...

Would a chromo delete look odd with a red model 3?

Sam123, since you're in the bay area, if you don't mind me asking, where did you get this done? And what ballpark price would I be looking at for (I am waiting for MSM + 18", as I was pushed to July): 1. Same as you, tint sides, rear, roof, but I don't think I'd need to do anything about the...

Has anyone gotten their $3.5K back?

If it helps you, I am at the end of my 3 year lease on my eGolf (had to extend it a few months as I wait for the Model 3). I was lucky enough to get a test ride in a Model 3 thanks to a neighbor who owns one. While I can't comment on how it drives specifically, I can compare the experience of...

Push back email - JUNE / JULY Configs

Invited 4/10. Configured 4/24. MSM with Aero. Pushed to July. Santa Clara, CA (ie, close to the factory). Spoiled my road trip plans to southern CA early June.

Before the 3, what have you owned/driven?

1990-2000: 1987 Nissan Pulsar. Manual. Decided to buy a new car after trouble in Tahoe driving down a hill during a snowstorm. 1999-2017: 1999 Subaru Legacy Sedan. Manual. Perfect for the handful of times I took it up to the snow. Bad concussion in 2001 put a serious dent in my snowboarding...

    Non-owner config invites have begun!

Yes, this, despite early indications that being in the bay area would be THE advantage. I reserved in Sunnyvale around 1pm but still no invite. In happier news, my brother stood in line early down in the Irvine area, reserved by about 11am, and got his invite yesterday. I both congratulated him...
