2021.4.12 odd glitch [with power steering]

It may be a coincidence. Tesla just resent the update. I am uploading it again after work. We shall see. My car had 104,000 miles on it. It may ne something hardware related considering my mileage.

2021.4.12 odd glitch [with power steering]

Hey Everyone, Since receiving this update, my power steering assist level changes as I drive. It is fine for a while, then suddenly 25% or so more effort is required to steer. Then it goes away and is normal again. After 104,000 miles, I am very familiar with my car and this definitely...

2021.4.12 odd glitch [with power steering]

Moderator note: The first four posts in this thread are a merge of two threads on the same topic. Hey Everyone, Ever since receiving this update, I am having issues with my power steering. The amount of assist varies as I drive. It is not huge, but noticeable. Basically, it will suddenly...

Installed Matt Shumaker's Driver Centric Screen Mount: photos

Hey Guys, I completely understand objections to either the "need" for this kit or the price. Allow me to elaborate; I initially developed this mount just as something I personally wanted. I felt the screen was too high on the dash and too vertical. So, I hand machined my own mount. It was...

Helpful info for those considering trading in Tesla Model 3 for a Tesla

Ha, I have an answer for you guys! I just received an offer from Tesla for my 2018 M3 LR. I was offered $43,000 to trade up to a performance M3. Not worth it. But, I understand they have to resell it. I will either wait a year to trade it in, or wait to trade up to a Y if they look like a good...

    I hate closing the frunk

If you look at the under side of the frunk lid (the hood), it appears best to use one hand flat over the latch. That is what I do. I lay one hand flat over the latch (basically over the Tesla logo) and latch it. I don't mind opening it. I use it daily. What bothers me is unlatching it. For one...

Savini 20 inch wheels on my Model 3

I am seeing a 15% loss of range with these new tires and wheels. However, I am still better range than the 310 miles Tesla claims for the Model 3.

So, the person writing the article is wrong. The OP should have stated that you have to follow some huge tweet storm to get the whole story. The article repeatedly states that they are the owners. U mad bro?

    Everyone wants to race me......

As the title suggests, it seems like everywhere I go in this car somebody tries to race me or at least get around me. I had a motorcycle today try to race me and a modified pickup truck. Neither of them could get around me. :-) does anyone else find that the model 3 draws street races? Matt

A quick perspective on Model 3 build quality concerns.......

Hey Guys, After 2,000 miles of Model 3 ownership, I have to report that I love the car. I have had a couple minor issues, though; #1 My phone was not syncing to make calls (this turned out to be my phone, not the car). #2 My GPS stopped working (that went away after letting the car sit for...

    Ipod as key-fob

I found a caveat...... Ok, so, it is possible to use an i-pod as a key while your phone is only a phone. However, for some reason, if you leave your phone in the car (phone is setup as a phone/Bluetooth device but NOT a key), the walk away lock ceases working. You must lock the car by the app...

    Ipod as key-fob

Hey Guys, My phone is a Note 8. It is freaking HUGE especially with a protective case. I have always hated using my phone as a key because it is so big and, also, because I use my car to visit clients. I would rather leave my phone in the car while I am visiting clients. I began looking for...

12 days and 1,900 miles on my 3 so far!

Hey Guys, As the title says, I have had my 3 for 12 days and have put 1,900 miles on it. I gotta say, this is a very different experience! This car reminds me of a semi-exotic like a Lotus in that it has a bit of minor build/design quirks and overly chintzy items in the interior, but a...

1 week old, GPS antenna has failed.

Not sure why you say its not that...... Tesla told me they are relatively sure my GPS antenna is bad because all other systems are working from what they can see on their end. The antenna is one item they must physically have the car in front of them to diagnose.

1 week old, GPS antenna has failed.

As the title suggests, my car is 1 week old today (1,160 miles so far) and the GPS has ceased showing any movement on the screen. Tesla support said they can see on their end that my car is not reading the satellites. They will be sending out a mobile tech to look at it soon. First world...
