Dancing Cars on my display. Is this normal?

I did indeed search the forum for this before posting, and it was inconclusive. Could only find 2 posts about it with no real answer, hence my new thread here. Thanks everyone for your responses, now I know to just hope for a software update to fix this. For anyone else looking at this thread...

Dancing Cars on my display. Is this normal?

This has been happening the last 6 months or more. I have a 2018 Tesla Model S. Embedded below is the video of my dash display. These are all stationary cars around me, stopped at a signal, yet they are dancing around on the display. This happens all the time, even as I am driving, they can...

Future Wash (formerly Tesla Wash) waterless car wash in SF Bay/Monterey area

Thanks for that info. Just used AJ Auto Detailing in San Jose near the airport for my first Tesla wash and it came out amazing - better than when I picked up the car from Tesla's detailer. I may use that Santana Row Shop & Wash one of these days as well for a quick wash while eating at one of...

Random Internet Guy's 26 Hour Test Drive Impressions

Not quite what I was saying. Even though I do know what to listen for, I'm certainly not trying to train my ears to concentrate on road noise - especially when I like the car I'm driving. Simply that my ears have gotten sensitive to specific sounds and frequencies, more so after prolonged...

    Software Update 2018.14

Yeah, so far it's the same message I received last week with the previous 2018.14 update, so not sure what this latest download implemented. I guess I'll know more when I read this thread in the morning. :^/

Random Internet Guy's 26 Hour Test Drive Impressions

What I meant were the frequencies that were most prominent and resonating from the road noise. It's been a while now since I drove it for the day but I would guess they were in the 200-400Hz range. I am a professional musician and when my ears are in an enclosed space with no ear protection for...

Random Internet Guy's 26 Hour Test Drive Impressions

It was an early model, before Dec 27th and had the 19" wheels. I had the opportunity to drive a M3 that was bullt after Dec 27th as well that I was considering buying used (under 200 miles) and it was better, but not enough to make the difference - again - for me. It also had the 19" wheels btw.

Random Internet Guy's 26 Hour Test Drive Impressions

I rented a M3 on Turo a few weeks ago and loved the car...for the first hour. Then after that, the road noise and wind noise was getting to me. This is well before I had heard anything about this issue. After taking it out a 3rd time in the evening, that ruined it for me, my ears started to...

    Anyone renting on Turo?

I rented a Model 3 recently from a fellow on Turo that just happened to be a Tesla employee and had one of the first m3s off the line. He was a great guy, very helpful, and I was his first renter. Lovely experience for me, learned a lot about the car and all Tesla models from the guy. However...

    Model S Photo Gallery

Agreed, but I think I'll do the compromise between best looks and best mileage/comfort. 19s or 20s for me.

Thanks, they were nice. I guess I can get the T-Sportline instead.

Don, What are the rims in the top picture? I'm assuming those are 19's? They look great.

    2018.10.6?

Same here. Wifi hasn't worked since I bought the car last Saturday, just says it's initializing - always! Can't reboot via the scroll wheels, and Summon doesn't work on the FOB or the phone app, I think I need to take this to the SC and have them do a real reboot. I have turned off the car via...

    2018.10.6?

I just got off the phone with Tesla support as I have not been able to connect to wifi. They said almost all the TMS manufactured after Feb 2018 have had this issue with the new MCU. The 2 scroll wheel reboot doesn't work on mine, and when I asked him if I had the latest Maps update he said he...

A little help on a used Model S

Well, being new to this forum, I have no idea how active it is, but I would have expected a lot of P and + owners to chime in as well. Of course this is not "my" opinion, since there's absolutely no way I would know if this info was correct, just passing on what this Tesla employee told me to...

Seeking ideas for dampening wind noise

I'm sure the wheels had a lot to do with my issues of the 2 I drove. Both had 19" wheels and very few miles. The one fellow that is selling his beautiful white TM3 only has 180 miles on it so I'm sure it's just stiff and needs a bit of breaking in, but as I said it was manufactured after Dec...

Owners delivery stories, photos and first impressions

I love this car!!! Just feel like a different rim would be in order to really nail the best look of this. Ive heard quite a lot of 21" Tesla rim issues online so I was thinking the 19 or 20 inch TST rims. Hope you get yours soon enough!!

Seeking ideas for dampening wind noise

Well, as much as I wanted to go with the Model 3, I went a different way than I expected. My wife and I just came home with a brand new Model S 75D from Fremont yesterday. One of 3 production models that were available immediately. Just a few weeks old at most with the new display update...

Three weeks and my biggest disapointment in the Model 3...

Thanks for that, but I just went with a new production Model S 75D and took it home yesterday from Fremont. The 3 was nice, but this one fit my wife and I much better. Cheers!

Owners delivery stories, photos and first impressions

My wife and I visited Fremont yesterday to test drive a new Model S. Came away with a new 75D that was just manufactured in March with the latest display upgrade. It was one of only 3 Model S cars they had from production that were avail immediately. All is working great and just waiting for AP...

Three weeks and my biggest disapointment in the Model 3...

Rented a Model 3 yesterday and it was definitely more coarse and had more road noise on my local roads and highways than my 2015 328i with sport package and my i3. Now that vehicle (i3) has the skinniest tires Ive seen and can bounce around quite a bit when it hits bumps in the road but it was...

Seeking ideas for dampening wind noise

I also rented a Model 3 yesterday and it was one of the first made, as the fellow works at Tesla Fremont. I drove it a lot during the day and more in the evening, and by night's end my ears started to physically hurt from the constant low end road noise and wind noise. I told the guy about it...

A little help on a used Model S

I won't bore you since I have a feeling this is an overused type of thread but I have just rented a Tesla from a guy that works at Tesla Motors in Fremont today and he said I should stay away from anything used that has or a P before the number (Performance). He said that was a larger rear motor...
