    HW3 Upgrade

I wonder if it's related to the model. I had the swap done a couple of weeks ago in an S, and the only settings that were lost were the Navigate on Autopilot settings. Everything else stayed in place.

    HW3 Upgrade

    Correct, Model S

    HW3 Upgrade

I had mine done in Winnipeg last week, and the only settings I had to reconfigure were the autopilot settings (NoA, summon, etc) after the cameras finished calibrating (took about 20 minutes of highway driving to calibrate). All other settings (including all the user profiles) stayed intact...

    Canadian CHAdeMO charging

A bunch of the Petro-Canada locations across the prairies have A&Ws attached or inside, so that makes a really good advertising partner. Especially for the sites that have both a charger and an A&W on premises.

    Supercharger - Whitewood, SK

    100D, July 2018 build date, pre-Raven.

    Ranger Service - Winnipeg

Have had great experiences so far in Winnipeg. Both issues were solved within a day or two right in my driveway, with no charge for the service under warranty.

    Supercharger - Whitewood, SK

Really impressed with the speeds from the Whitewood charger! Topped out at 158kW, which I didn't even think was possible for a Model S...

    Canadian CHAdeMO charging

There isn't really a "correct" side on the Petro-Canada chargers, as they are designed to be used with all EVs (some of which have the charging port on the front left of the car, vs. the back left of Tesla). They could definitely have made the cables longer, though, to make it easier to reach...

    HW3 Upgrade

New MCU was somewhere in the spring of 2018. I had a June 2018 build date and it came with the new MCU.

    Supercharger - Winnipeg, MB

Winnipeg just popped up on the app/in-car map!

    Supercharger - Whitewood, SK

All of the Sask/MB ones have 2 spots per charger, so no matter where your charge port is you're good to go. Perhaps a couple of the early ones in Ontario weren't, but they seem to have gotten it right now. Also, love the fact they have garbages and windshield washers right beside the Chargers.

    Supercharger - Whitewood, SK

Heard in passing at the Winnipeg site testing that Sask Power was scheduled to hook up power to the Petro-Canada site in Whitewood about a week before Christmas. He seemed pretty confident the site would be at least in the testing phase prior to Christmas.

    Mid-Canada Superchargers

It is live now, though. They flipped the switch on Friday, and I was able to charge.
  14. L

    Canadian CHAdeMO charging

Ah, makes sense. That would explain why the station and the car would show different values.
  15. L

    Canadian CHAdeMO charging

On CHAdeMO you won't get 50kw until very nearly 100% charge, as the charge rate is completely dependant on the battery voltage. My sessions have usually started around 38-40kW at low battery (<5%) and have ended at around 46-48kW at 80-90%. Would be nice if the Tesla adapters were compatible...

    Canadian CHAdeMO charging

The Petro-Canada level 3 chargers are online now at Deacon's Corner (#1 just east of Winnipeg).

Registered second driver, can’t find on Tesla app?

When we took delivery, we asked that question of both the sales and delivery team. They told us there is no way for Tesla to link more than one Tesla account to a single car, so my wife and I just use the same login information. I think there is a Tesla fleet system of some sort, for business...

    Supercharger - Winnipeg, MB

FYI for those that were planning on going there today, Manitoba Hydro didn't get their side energized in time, so the testing has been cancelled.

    Supercharger - Winnipeg, MB

They are closed on Mondays I think, but the rest of the week the Bison Boutique is open across the street from 4 Way Motors and has some excellent lunch options. A great place to hang out for lunch while waiting for a charge.

    Supercharger - Winnipeg, MB

No problem. And if you get in a jam, I have an adapter that could be borrowed for an hour or two (provided the 3 uses the same adapter as the S).

    Supercharger - Winnipeg, MB

Fort Whyte is good for 7.6kW/12kW/17kW depending on the Model you're driving.

There is always the fast charger at Polo Park if things look suspect. Not free, but it is fast.

V10 in Canada - what will it come with?

The issue is not the Highway Traffic Act, it is with Transport Canada and the Motor Vehicle Safety Act which requires all new vehicles sold in Canada, or imported to Canada, have an immobilizer installed. The immobilizer must prevent the vehicle from moving more than 3m under its own power and...

    Supercharger - Davidson, SK

It's a bit of the old chicken and egg problem. There is no capital investment as there are few people, and there are few people due to the lack of capital investment.

Dividing the highway. As in twin highways, one for each direction.

Those cabinets are identical to the ones that Tesla installed at the Las Vegas v3 site, so it would be very unlikely these aren't Tesla cabinets (since Tesla is making, or at least assembling, them in-house).

    Canadian CHAdeMO charging

Regina Petro Canada chargers are looking very close to being done. Pavement is done, signage is up, and they appear to have power.
  30. L

    Supercharger - Winnipeg, MB

Perhaps they will be doing a solar canopy, similar to the Las Vegas setup? That could add a requirement for lifts. I agree, though, that we don't really know much for certain with this site.

    Mid-Canada Superchargers

It's unfortunate they went with Whitewood instead of Moosomin. The location at the Red Barn in Moosomin brought with it a lot of food options, with the Red Barn itself being excellent plus A&W, KFC, Subway, Dairy Queen, and a couple of Pizza shops all within easy walking distance. The...

Supercharger - Portage la Prairie MB

I don't think that second photo is a supercharger setup, it looks to be a building under construction.

    Canadian CHAdeMO charging

From my experience discussing EVs with people, the biggest issue with per minute charging is that it complicates the question of "how much will it cost to get 500 kms of range". It adds another step to the equation, which confuses people. Imagine how much more difficult it would be to figure...

    Canadian CHAdeMO charging

Manitoba. Definitely still not allowed here, and all but bans the installation of chargers in condo complexes unless they are free to use (unless your condo unit is close enough to your parking spot to run power from your own panel).
  35. L

    Canadian CHAdeMO charging

This is correct, only power companies can charge by the kWh in Canada. This is also why all Canadian superchargers are time, and not power, based. A few months ago I wrote letters to both the Federal and Provincial levels of government explaining why this is an impediment to widespread...

    Canadian CHAdeMO charging

Petro Canada chargers are currently free to use with no signup or app required. They are planning to roll out a payment system in the fall once more chargers come online, but I haven't seen any details yet on what form that will take.

    Canadian CHAdeMO charging

Polo Park Mall fast charger is definitely on PlugShare. It even shows the availability of the charger on Plugshare, synced from the Flo site.

    Supercharger - Golden, BC Canada

Works great and slows appropriately for curves, provided there are decent lines on the road. When I did Rogers Pass back in April, the lines had disappeared for large portions of the route due to the winter salt, so those areas I had to take over.
  39. L

    Supercharger - Alexandria, MN

It would have been the Chademo adapter (large round plug). There is no current adapter for CCS => North American Tesla plugs.

    Ranger service SK?

Sorry, I should have worded that as there's no charge for warranty work in Winnipeg.
  41. L

    Ranger service SK?

The ranger that covers SK is based in Winnipeg, and does trips out to Regina/Saskatoon when there is enough minor issues in those cities to justify a trip, or when something major forces one. Not sure about cost in SK, though. I know there's no charge for it in Winnipeg.
  42. L

    Canadian CHAdeMO charging

Speaking of PlugShare, is there a way to filter out "Coming Soon" chargers?
  43. L

    Canadian CHAdeMO charging

These were in Calgary/Red Deer/Edmonton. I agree, though, that construction is probably still a ways off for the SK/MB chargers. I'm just saying that the staff at the Alberta locations for the most part have no idea there is a Chademo/CCS charger in their parking lot.
  44. L

    Canadian CHAdeMO charging

To be fair, the Canadian Tire stores I've charged at that DO have fast chargers have most staff unaware of the existence of the chargers.

    Seamless NoA on Autopilot

The summon issue is due to the Canadian immobilizer laws. All new Canadian vehicles over a certain price must come equiped with an immobilizer, which the key fob for the S/X acts as. This is why the fob needs to be within a few feet of the car for summon to work. For the model 3, I believe...

Enhanced Summon, NoA with no stalk confirmation

Not at all in MB, and not outside Regina/Saskatoon in SK. The current version of NoA only works on controlled access highways built to interstate/freeway standards. MB has 0km of highway that meets that standard, and SK has ~60km, of which 90% is within the city limits of Regina and Saskatoon.
  47. L

Enhanced Summon, NoA with no stalk confirmation

It would be nice if the current NoA came to MB/SK, let alone the no- confirmation version.

    Mid-Canada Superchargers

So, who in Saskatchewan will be going out to search for the "under construction" supercharger? I'll be checking the likely suspects on my way though next month, but surely we have some Swift Current/Regina/Moosomin residents that frequent this site... Here's to hoping 2019 is finally the year...
  49. L

    Canadian CHAdeMO charging

I hope that is the case. It's a shame the ports for S/X are different over in Europe and we can't just use the European adapter once it is released.

Taking delivery away from home ?

One thing to consider with the temp permits if going through the U.S. is liability insurance. It may be different with BC temp permits, however when I inquired about temp permits for my pickup in Toronto they told me I'd be crazy to drive into the states with them since the temps only provided...
