Key fob not working after battery replacement

Update: the warning just disappeared the next day all by itself, when it was good and ready. All is well.

Key fob not working after battery replacement

Thanks, Shawn, I'll give it some time to reset. I have a 2014 Model S, sorry. I didn't notice this thread was in the Model X forum, I was just looking for key fob issues!

Key fob not working after battery replacement

I got the low key fob warning, so I replaced the battery with a generic cheap battery, and it wouldn't work at all. I tried another one and same thing. I tested the cheap battery, 3.3v, so it should have worked, but when I put it in the key fob and tried opening doors, frunk, trunk several...

    Supercharger - Alexandria, MN

If it's the same crew that's been working on the I94 corridor from Minnesota to Montana, they are currently doing the ground work in Jamestown. That has to be slow going, digging through frozen ground.

It's covered with snow, but something is happening.

    Supercharger - Jamestown ND

My sister will go check it out , although she said she doesn't have night vision on her camera. Also, they just had a blizzard, which might slow things down a bit. Before you start digging in the frozen ground, you have to dig down TO the ground! Not ideal conditions .

    100% drive unit failure rate??

I just had a total RDU failure, with my late 2014 P85D with about 65,000 miles, stranded out in the boonies. PRND all red, with a service required message. I could shift it into D, but as soon as I stepped on the accelerator, everything went red and locked up. Luckily a forest service ranger...

    Supercharger - Fargo, ND

It might be under a foot of snow by then, but maybe that will insulate the ground and keep it from freezing.;) Time's a wastin!

    Supercharger - Fargo, ND

It looks like they might start get started in a couple of days, according to North Dakota One Call. Utilities are being marked. Be on the lookout! They may yet get to Jamestown and Pembina before the ground turns to rock. They better hurry though! Ticket No: 19138817 LORQ ROUTINE Original...

    Supercharger - Dickinson, ND

Lightfoot3b, with all the time & effort and sheer dogged perseverance that you have put into encouraging Tesla to build Superchargers in North Dakota, as well as the faith that Tesla would eventually see the light (enough that you bought a Raven Ludicrous S even after enduring five years of...

Report: Tesla Operating Secret Battery Research Lab

Must be a slow news day. I would have been shocked if Tesla wasn't doing battery research.:)

AP1 slows down violently entering school zone - but not during school hours

The annoying thing for me is that once it slows down, it won't resume after leaving the school zone until it sees a speed limit sign again, which can be a long time. It would be nice if it could recognize "End School Zone" signs. Minor quibble, I probably shouldn't be on AP1 in a school zone...

    Supercharger - Kelso, WA (Speculation)

PlugShare lists it as "coming soon". Electrify America-Three Rivers-Kelso CCS/SAE, CHAdeMO.

    Supercharger - Jamestown ND

Oh Happy Day !! I'm coming to North Dakota this summer! And I won't have to bother @lightfoot3b for the 14-50 plug in his garage (although I appreciated that very much, thank you!). I hope I'm not counting chickens before they hatch, but ND Superchargers are starting to look real this year!

    Supercharger - Jamestown ND

Yes , they are happy to let you use their J1772 connection, it's a little hard to find around the back of the building- I charged there over night last summer, and felt safe leaving my car there, as the Ford dealership said they have security watching their lot. The University of Jamestown is...

Frustrating experience at Discount Tire - HELP!

If you can walk, bend down, lift, etc. I bought some Michelin MXM4s at my local Discount Tire yesterday, and my experience was completely positive-they were familiar with my jack pads, knew how to use them, asked if I had air suspension and knew how to set jack mode, and were very careful and...

    100,000+ Miles living in ND

Not only have you driven 100, 000 miles yourself, you have helped many other Tesla drivers, me included, to get through the North Dakota Supercharger desert, giving our cars a drink of juice to get us by. Thank you, and maybe this year Elon will feel your pain and make "coming in 2019" true...

North Dakota Superchargers (location speculation, discussion)

Super good news! And the biggest upside? North Dakota will get V3 chargers! It will be the first state in the union to be 100% V3! Good things come to those who wait. And wait. Just gotta get that first one to get the ball rolling.

North Dakota Superchargers (location speculation, discussion)

It appears, according to Plugshare, that Greenlots is putting in DC fast chargers in St Cloud, Fergus Falls and Fargo. If they continue across North Dakota along I 94 (OK that's a big if), I might have to invest in a CHAdeMO adapter. How annoying if they beat Tesla to North Dakota! Edit-actually...

Autosteer's sucky choice of lane position around bends

I drove a particularly windy section of highway today to see if recent updates had improved the cornering, and I didn't notice any improvement. But what was really disconcerting was its habit of completely losing its way over humps in the road, where it can't detect either the outside or inside...

Autosteer's sucky choice of lane position around bends

I got it in March, so it has happened since then, but I haven't noticed going over the line recently, so it may have been resolved. I'll keep an eye on it. Some of our twistier mountain roads are more fun to drive manually anyway!

Autosteer's sucky choice of lane position around bends

I couldn't agree more with being uncomfortable with hugging the outside curve, especially with oncoming traffic hugging the inside curve-it seems like we pass each other at a speed differential of 120 MPH with inches to spare! I usually take control on the twisty sections, for my own piece of...

North Dakota Superchargers (location speculation, discussion)

At least Bismarck posts their building permits online. Not that there's been anything with Tesla on it. That's the great thing about working with Tesla, one learns to develop one's patience, starting with waiting for one's car;)

North Dakota Superchargers (location speculation, discussion)

I can't address Alexandria, but I will do some sleuthing in Jamestown, I'm planning to be there in August. I will at least talk to the mall people and talk to the city to see if there have been any interesting building permit applications, since none of that seems to be available online.

North Dakota Superchargers (location speculation, discussion)

Thank you Lightfoot3b, for your persistence in goading Tesla into extending their Supercharger network into North Dakota! It shouldn't be this hard! Sadly, I think 2018 may go down with 2017, 2016, 2015...... as "maybe next year". If Bismarck, Jamestown, Miles City?, Glendive?, et. al. haven't...

Your Top 5 Anticipated Supercharger Locations

I just drove it last week, and it is a pretty drive that cut a lot of time off. We stayed the night in Burns, and charged at the Harney County Chamber of Commerce (it's on Plugshare) overnight. I called ahead, and they had no problem with parking overnight to charge. That said, there are only...

North Dakota Superchargers (location speculation, discussion)

North Dakota Superchargers (location speculation, discussion)

8 degrees F, right? About -13 C? The ground gets pretty hard, so I just assumed they'd wait until the digging got easier.

North Dakota Superchargers (location speculation, discussion)

I'll ask him, he has lived in Jamestown all his life, is in construction and knows everyone, it seems. I doubt it's anything that can be documented and verified, but I'm getting my hopes up that I can get back there this summer via I94.

North Dakota Superchargers (location speculation, discussion)

For what it's worth, my brother lives in Jamestown, and he says there are plans for a Supercharger at the Exxon station off of exit 258. I hope he's right, but they won't be digging in that ground anytime soon-it's currently 8 degrees! Ah, April in North Dakota!
