How to return Tesla Model 3?

Read this article "Tesla May Call Warranty Repairs Goodwill Due To Lemon Laundering" and avoid signing a legal document with incorrect statements (aka lies) about the condition of the vehicle.

Tesla Sales Banned in New Jersey... hopefully not for long!

Why does 56:10-27 include that strange exemption? - "except a shareholder of 1% or less of the outstanding shares" - does that mean someone owning between 1 share and 0.99% of $TSLA can sell a new Model S in NJ without a franchise?

    Ford Focus EV

#1 Right - this picture was of the hatch in the silver drivable prototype. The non-drivable white prototype was at Menlo Park the same day and other photos in the album show the white one. #2 I don't know either. When I asked at the time whether the large box in back held a Roadster battery...

    Ford Focus EV

The white Model S rolling prototype used a Roadster drivetrain and battery pack thus blocking a lot of the storage in the rear compartment too. Perhaps Ford used a "borrowed" battery pack for their early Focus Electrics too? Hopefully the pack and packaging will improve before final...

    Regen Gauge

The chart in JB Straubel's blog post on efficiency predicts 300 Wh/mi at 70 mi/h (21kW) and implies a much lower 60A at 350V.

    Regen Gauge

I prefer voice activation. Answering calls, changing audio, and even navigation (with the right software) can all be done with hands on the wheel and eyes on the road. The Acura RL and the Ford Sync both offer very serviceable voice interfaces. Physical controls with distinct tactile...

Ford Focus EV = Model S competition ???!???

AutoBlogGreen reported in January that the Ford Focus EV was targeted to have a 100 mile range, 0-60mph in 10 seconds, top speed electronically limited to 95mph, 450 lb. weight penalty vs. regular Focus and use a Magna developed EV drive train with li-ion and a single speed tranny. If it's the...

    Roadster walk-throughs

If the new head unit decision is still open, then my vote goes for one running Microsoft Auto like Ford's Sync or, even better, their Work Solutions In-Dash Computer.

    Where are the charging stations?

RV Parks, Truck Stops for Public, High Power Outlets... RV parks are available all over the country and usually offer fairly high power outlets (often 30 or 50 amp service). The Dept. of Energy also runs the "Truck Stop Electrification" program. Idle reduction for heavy trucks is the main...

    Roadster walk-throughs

Agreed - shutting down the car if the charge door is opened would be bad. At a minimum the car should stay on if it's already on. It would be even better if it locked shut while the car is on; I don't think there's much demand/need for "aerial refueling", that is, recharging while the Roadster...

Model S - 'What If' photochop amalgams

Here's a comparison of the two mockups with the teaser that started it all; Tesla is sure getting a lot of mileage out of that one photo! (straightened the images with the wheel tops as reference and then drew boxes attempting to line up just under the outside rear view mirrors). It seems that...

Model S - 'What If' photochop amalgams

Left Lane's artist chose to place the trunk at the same level as the window sill line, however, Tesla Motor's pulled up sheet teaser shows the trunk line much higher than the sill line. Wired's artist stuck closer to the profile from Tesla's teaser.

    WhiteStar styling ideas

Possible 2+3+2 seating layout 2+3+2 seating might position the passengers something like this: (Possible seating layout. NOT the actual Model S, just TEG's cartoon blend of the teaser plus Jaguar C-XF) (possible seating layout - 2 rear-facing seats usually folded into the floor)

Model S - 'What If' photochop amalgams

WheelsPerformance.com only shows the Lorisner RS8 in 20" and 21" varieties; are there other sizes? Given the synergy of Tesla Motors and Lotus, the discussions at LotusTalk.com and the need to get something out quickly after the Fisker fiasco, the Rapide amalgam seems quite probable. The...

'Tweeters' comments on Model S illustration.

Model S looks like Nissan 370Z Prototype or Lotus APX Prototype? The R&T photo illustration looks more like a four door version of the Nissan 370Z Prototype. Nissan 370Z Prototype Perhaps closer to reality is Business Week's "Electric Carmaker Tesla Downshifts" article which includes this...

    That Little Water Pump

ESS cycle-life reduced by pump? Zak, Is Martin also accurate in wondering whether the ESS cycle-life/lifetime range will be significantly reduced due to the water pump? That is, does the water pump always pull electricity through the ESS even when the Roadster is plugged-in? Thanks, Mark...
