Which Model 3 springs for a more comfortable ride?

Andrew - great information, thanks - just looking at these - was all the parts and work done on the front only? if so, I am (as a newbie to suspension tech) surprised at getting better ride quality.

Why my vent moves, finally figured this out!

The Climate control now closes itself - nice improvement

Can't find a good direction for the front air vents...with v9

Totally agree - this is a step back. Having the passenger side going all to the left (hitting back of Monitor) was the only way to "turn off" that vent while keeping the Driver side on. I really want them to fix this

Insurance - my provider won't insure Model 3

Try Amica - have had them for many years, my M3 RWD only cost $380/yr

Go Ahead -- Grade my Vanity Plate Idea

I had never done vanity plates - but had to lay it out there with my first EV: DA FUTR

    Supercharger speed: 116kW

Where was that screen capture of data from? I have not seen that - sorry, still coming up the learning curve

Am I going to regret the aero wheels?

I when with 18s on my white car, bought the caps, but in person I like the aeros better - so they stayed on. Maybe it is the "in pictures" phenomenon - but I don't like the look on other colors

    Model 3 Supercharging

My first SC visit was not charged - assumed that was due to the 240 mile distance home (no delivery ctr close) - but could be that is just normal as I had seen other comments on first visit charges missing

I wish Autosteer kept me a little more to the right of center

I agree with OP - I am uncomfortable when passing semi's with AP - too close when passing - not too close with empty lane. Can it learn this subtlety of what I think is smart driving?

Brake Hold is one of the coolest features nobody talks about

I can do Hold with Creep on. OP thanks for mentioning this - did not know about it - very nice

    Premature Tire Life

Confirmed - that was it - no more rubber after 300 more miles - the guy putting on the Tire Black thought he was doing excellent work by drenching my tires.

    Premature Tire Life

OK for anyone following my issue from yesterday - here is the latest theory: it is rubber, but from the sidewalls, that were drenched with "tire black" as part of the detailing for delivery. This is supported by my observing upon first seeing the car that the tires had a liberal treatment with...

    Premature Tire Life

I am thinking the black residue is from the tire getting chewed up while driving. I want to be wrong, trust me I just took some residue, light powdery, and held a lighter to it, smelled like burning rubber. :-( reaching out to Tesla

    Premature Tire Life

Sorry - I don't understand your statement, please elaborate

    Premature Tire Life

Black, soft, as in no grit , smelled like rubber (I used to work in a tire mfg plant, kinda know what they smell like). What would you think it was? dry sunny day - mid 80's - no fresh pavement/blacktop. not sure what else it would be. Am open to opinions - thanks for the question

    Premature Tire Life

OK - try this one out - new M3 - delivered today - drove 240 miles home with this kind of rubber on the wheel wells. no crazy driving - dry day. only really noticed due to white car color. No handling problems or indication of alignment issue when driving

    4/18 Invites

I was offered similar option, which I will take, as I live in NH. My drive will be only 225 miles - and they will pay for the hotel and one way rental. This option is also 3 weeks less waiting than them are hiring 3rd party to drop off, so I am told.

Black metal dash wrap, keep or remove?

My vote is either keep as wood or remove wood to put brushed metal to match console brushed metal. as is, it is too much black and total different texture than anything else, sorry to disappoint with my opinion.

Torklift Central Stealth EcoHitch for Model 3

Thanks for the pictures - regarding access to the bolt - if the hole was same size but off center a bit - would that allow better access?

Aero wheel hubcaps replaced with center caps and black lug nut covers

ok thanks - they are now $50 - as I look longingly that the picture you provided (order is in - awaiting delivery) - I cannot decide if you did a chrome delete - I am thinking yes

Torklift Central Stealth EcoHitch for Model 3

I am thinking I will want to try pretty hard to get two bikes in the car with seats down

Torklift Central Stealth EcoHitch for Model 3

Anyone care to speculate or have data on how much the drag of a couple bikes mounted on rack on hitch affects the energy/mile??
  23. But_dave

Just got my Model 3 yesterday. Love it!

Congrats - That is the experience I am looking forward to in a month or so - thanks for sharing - very pumped now!
