Do you think Ford will touch HOV lane access?

Wow. That you seem to think governments should be run like a household really says a great deal about your inability to offer useful information in this area. Here are a few links for you: One More Time, the Government Is NOT Like a Household or a Business Nation-states aren't households...

POLL: Future of Ontario EHVIP Rebate?

A good percentage of the voters in the US voted for Trump as well. Just because a number of people vote for something doesn’t mean it’s a great idea. It’s also worth keeping in mind that half the population falls below average in terms of intelligence so waving shiny baubles like cheap beer as a...

POLL: Future of Ontario EHVIP Rebate?

You should look harder: Vehicle Incentives Colorado looks to have a 5k + 7.5k tax incentive, which works out to 16.4k CDN. Plenty of others offer extra incentives on top of the base 7.5k federal incentive. Further, while I'm sure there are some inefficiencies in cap and trade, that's true of...

POLL: Future of Ontario EHVIP Rebate?

Plenty of states end up around 10k US between state and federal rebates, which is a bit over 13k CDN. Since it is (or was) funded by cap and trade, I’m fine with polluting companies paying for generous rebates. In a proper system, the rebate would gradually decrease as EVs reach price parity and...

Model 3 daytime running lights, low beams, high beams auto?

Do you see a grey headlight icon with an ‘A’ in it? Just turning on the option in settings doesn’t enable them, you have to try to turn on the high beams by pushing the left stalk forward as well. Also, it’s based on the cameras behind your rear view mirror, covering your headlights shouldn’t...

Ontario EV Rebates Cancelled July 11, 2018

To submit the charger rebate, you need to have your EV registered and plated, so that won’t work. You can have it installed, I believe, 90 days in advance, but the rebate will still have to wait.

Ontario EV Rebates Cancelled July 11, 2018

You guys keep telling yourself that it it makes you feel better for having voted for a woefully unqualified idiot to lead the province. But sure, I'm sure the guy who didn't even bother with a fully costed platform will save us all from this 'awful fiscal mess' in a manner that isn't at all...

Ontario EV Rebates Cancelled July 11, 2018

I’ve already submitted the paperwork and I’m still worried I won’t receive the rebate. We probably won’t see the SR model here until the new year, so you’ll be out of luck if you try to wait. I wasn’t even willing to wait for AWD.

I submitted a week or so after that but am estimating a mid-Aug timeline for the rebate based on their backlog.

    Tesla Service is Sub-optimal

What were your paint issues? I found a few hazy blotches on mine but haven’t had them taken care of yet.

What do you hate about your M3?

I thought the same thing. However, the wiper button has two states. A gentle press will trigger the wipers and a much firmer press/click triggers the spray. It took more effort than I expected, so try that.

What do you hate about your M3?

FYI -- if you hit around 50 km/hr the side mirrors fold back out automatically.

When you configured your Model 3, did you get Autopilot?

There are tons of reasons without even considering autopilot. Tesla makes fast, beautiful, all-electric vehicles with basically the longest range on the market. You have a fast charging network that is faster and more prevalent than anything else out there, and is integrated directly into your...

Final Cost required - MVPA Help please?

I don't have or use personal cheques and my bank no longer seems willing to print them out for same-day requests. In my case, I'd rather get my car than be a few hundred short with no easy way to provide them with the difference on the spot. Of course, ideally they would have provided me with...

Final Cost required - MVPA Help please?

Exactly the same issue here, which is why I just went for more than I should need. There are a number of banks about 2km from the centre if it turns out to be a major issue.

Final Cost required - MVPA Help please?

Mine also said they could refund me any extra so I just got a draft for $1,000 more than the estimate just in case. I'm also just over 24 hours from delivery with no final paperwork. Hopefully that isn't an indication of a potential delay.

I'm dreading every phone call I receive until my delivery tomorrow. I still suspect that something will be delayed.

    International Centre delivery experiences

My DS said they'd refund me any overpayment, so I'm getting a larger bank draft just to make sure I have enough. If they have an issue with it despite the email, they should have worked on getting the final numbers to me sooner.

I hope not. The last thing we need are people slowing down the process even further because they're fretting about silly superstitious nonsense.

    Extra Key Cards?

I asked for extra cards when my ISA/DS first contacted me. Apparently they come in a two-pack for 25$. I'll have four total.

Model 3 Canada - Confirmed Orders Only thread

While I am planning for the worst, letting me know the morning of is unacceptable. At best, I'll end up wasting at least half a day of time off for no reason by the time I can get in.

Model 3 Canada - Confirmed Orders Only thread

Indeed. It's bad enough that some people are waiting until less than 24 hours before delivery to actually receive the paperwork they need to get a bank draft made up. Like many people, I already have travel and vacation plans lined up. If they wait until the morning of delivery to inform me of a...

Model 3 Canada - Confirmed Orders Only thread

I saw another person who was scheduled for a 5pm delivery today and was informed this morning that the car was still in transport and they wouldn't be able to pick it up until Friday. I'm expecting to see plenty more situations like this as they become more and more overwhelmed.

What are you coming from to compare how quick it is? I'm coming from a ~8s 0-60 car, so it'll be a huge improvement, but I'm wondering how it feels. I've driven a P85D which was painfully quick but I don't have much else to compare to. Is it a 'put a big dumb grin on your face' sort of quick or...

When you configured your Model 3, did you get Autopilot?

Nah. The price after tax is roughly what I paid for my current car 8 years ago, and there’s no way I’m getting that much utility out of a fancy cruise control that I still need to pay close attention to. Maybe in the future as it improves if they drop the price a bit.

AWD to be about 6500 cdn plus tax

He made similar comments years ago when they introduced the dual motor Model S, nothing new here.
  30. O

AWD and AWD+P price and spec released last night, are those worth waiting for?

What makes you think that it absolutely must increase driving range? Just because there were minor increases with the Model S doesn't mean that the same will be true with the Model 3 given that it uses different motors, etc.

Ontario EV Rebates Cancelled July 11, 2018

That's because impacting climate change will require many many small/medium changes that will each cause small improvements over a long period of time. There's no single thing that we can do that will figuratively snap its fingers and fix the issues by tomorrow, but if we don't make changes...

Model 3 Canada - Confirmed Orders Only thread

They can say whatever they want, but as long as we're only seeing a sea of 18" VINs, we're probably a minimum of 1-2 weeks away from seeing anything up here. Of course, I haven't seen any VINs posted today, so maybe I'll go ahead and make a wild unfounded leap of faith and hope that they're...

    Any RECENT calls re: VIN/Delivery?

Well, nothing has been assigned yet. It depends how much time there is between building and VIN assignment, but I guess they could have started today or something.
  42. O

    Any Canadian VIN assignments?

We’ll know well before they arrive in Toronto — just watch the spreadsheet for 19” VIN assignments. We’re probably looking at about 2 weeks minimum at this point if we start seeing sport wheel VINs right away. But who knows, we may have another week or more of nonstop 18” cars.

    Ontario Delivery Phone Call

They're politicians. In this case, they're both remarkably incompetent and seem hell bent on removing things that help the environment. It's a rare day that I take their word on anything positive, let alone bet 14k on it.

Model 3 Canada - Confirmed Orders Only thread

I still can't believe how much 19" wheels are holding things up. After standing in line on March 31st/16 then configuring on March 27th, it's pretty absurd that so many people who both reserved and then configured after me are getting the car sooner.

Reserved model 3, need some help

Looks like most of the stuff I was about to type was already covered. To elaborate a bit on a few points, I'll likely be charging to 80% and keeping it above about 30% to ensure optimal battery health (and to provide a range buffer at the low end). Running out of power is much more annoying than...

    Any Canadian VIN assignments?

Some transparency on the VIN assignment process would be nice. I'm scratching my head how you (and others) have a VIN when I configured the same car/options on an earlier date but still don't have one. It doesn't really matter as long as I'm in the first round of deliveries as well, but it's...

Model 3 on display in Oakville as of April 27

Service centre folks aren't generally privy to inside info, so hopefully that guy was misinformed. That said, it does feel like it could be accurate. I'll be supremely disappointed with Tesla if it proves to be correct. It'll be May 18th when the first configs hit the end of the '4-8 week'...
