    Tesla in Perth

Haha yes, the thought did cross my mind but I will likely have moved before I could get my hands on one. Have done the trip many years ago but I think adventure driving is now a little past me. I assume the road is in better condition now but 40 hours and 3400Km of driving spooks me as well as...

    Tesla in Perth

Hi all, wife and I are planning to move to the Karrinyup area of Perth from Melbourne next year. We currently have a reservation for a Model 3. Since we may buy a cheaper house and hopefully will have cash to spare from sale of our house I am also considering upgrading to a Model S. Can any...

    Tesla Model 3 in Australia

If the model 3 is coming in 2020 I hope the base model is with dual motor and upgraded at the base price(whatever that will be) just like the current mature Model S and X base models. There is no way they could flog the 3 off in 2020 at current base specifications and price especially with hot...

Why are they allowed to publish lies?

Murdoch’s media know how to dupe watchers and readers to believe opinion pieces are factual news.

Why are they allowed to publish lies?

The New York Post is one of Rupert Murdoch’s more dreadful gutter sniping tabloids.

How’s the wait going for the Aussie 3?

Good to see cars like the Kona coming. But I would prefer a dedicated designed and built electric car rather than a converted ICE platform. Sure to be compromises in there. Still will stick with my Tesla reservation.

How’s the wait going for the Aussie 3?

Now that automobiles are common in every country and road transport is relatively mature there won’t be any more changing to which side they drive. Is set in stone now. All the countries that wished to change have done so already and most had changed when traffic was still relatively light...

Spotted in Australia and New Zealand

Been playing a mental game when I drive. I count all the Tesla’s I have spotted on the road since last October. I have now spotted 89. Many I have seen are around Richmond in the Melbourne area where I live and where the showroom is. Curiously the most I have seen are on Mont Albert Rd...

    Anyone excited

Does anyone know if the standard battery pack Tesla 3 will be avaliable with all wheel drive? That configuration tempts me. With Enhanced Auto Pilot, premium options and paint it looks like around A$77,000 on current pricing estimations.

    Strata Issues

Sounds like a very weak argument. Any electrical appliance can cause a fire and every house and apartment has many potential electrical fire starters. My mums house burned down due to a faulty range hood in the kitchen. A co-workers house burned down due to a faulty near new TV. Both happened...

    Model 3 base range concerns.

Thanks everyone for your suggestions and advice. Since it’s a long way off still, I will aim for the long range version but now I also feel more comfortable with the base version. Things can only get better with time. Also considering options like Enhanced Autopilot and premium interior.

    Model 3 base range concerns.

Thanks also to Lennier and Tasdoc and all. ICE cars don’t interest me anymore and yes I agree things will get better with the charging situation. I am hooked line and sinker after driving a S P100D. The good thing is that I have plenty of time to make up my mind and sort finances if I want the...

    Model 3 base range concerns.

Thanks for your link and reassurance. I was at the Easter festival also and that’s what got me thinking about how a Tesla 3 would have managed the trip. My current car will do the return trip twice on one tank easily so it was something to chew over. It’s not the very long trips along main...

    Model 3 base range concerns.

Yes I might have to go for the long range version but the price premium may be an issue I have to sort out. I have a long time to think about it.

    Model 3 base range concerns.

Well I hope they put a supercharger in Bendigo which is a major destination and a regular destination for me. The round trip is a modest 280Km, so that leaves me very little charge in reserve for driving around town in a base Model 3. For a car that is supposed to shine on the open road it’s not...

    Model 3 base range concerns.

Thanks for your reply but that means I have to find a vacant charger and allow time for charging which may be an inconvenience or impractical for a day of half day trip that requires three or four hours driving on the road. Day trips would not be much fun for the family if I have made a...

    Model 3 base range concerns.

Hi all, I have reservation for a Model 3 and debating on which range model to get and if I can eventually afford the long range version. The base range of around 350 KM seems unsuitably lean for Australian conditions. For a car that may cost $55,000 on the road it also seems very poor value for...
