Tesla recommends cleaning and lubricating all brake calipers every 12 months or 20,000 km

I have done the brake servicing on my 2018 LR in spring 2020, 2021, 2022 and when I did it for the first time in 2020, it was very difficult to get those front brake pins to budge, partly because of no lube by Tesla. Since then, its been super easy in 2021 and 2022, to the point that I thinking...

SR/SR+ (Model 3 RWD) Waiting Room

There’s an old article here: Tesla takes 40 steps and 90 minutes to produce a Model 3 at the Fremont Factory Given much more increased output from Fremont since then, it should be a bit faster 😀

SR/SR+ (Model 3 RWD) Waiting Room

There are 8 total in 2021 SR+. The circled green ones in the door was what I was counting but there are 4 speakers under the dash so total of 8. Sr+ vs LR Model 3 supercharging times

Yes, the 150KW vs 250KW supercharger is another variable.. I wanted to keep the comparison math simple where the supercharger does provide 250KW and is not just rated for it. In the link provided above, the charging happened only ay 201KW for an instant .. again it might be that grid and that...

Sr+ vs LR Model 3 supercharging times

As I recall the max speed of supercharging for SR+ was 170KW while LR can go to the max 250KW. If the charging was happening at the max speeds for both of those models then they would have the same time for both using this following math: SR+ charging time 20-80% = 0.6 * 55KWh (approx usable...

Need Advice: NEMA 14-50 Sometimes Charges at only 16a

I was having the same trouble over the last few months - charging going down to 16A and temp errors intermittently - after having used the UMC for last 3.5 years with my 2018 Model 3 LR. Called Tesla mobile service and he told me that the 14-50 adapter/ cable has a known issue related to temp...

    Model 3 Mud Flaps?

I saw 135 Wh/km on my 31km way to work last week before putting the mudflaps on. Its a 50-50 mix of highway and city roads. Since i have put the mudflaps on, i got 138 and 137 wh/km. Tried to drive similarly during these 3 days so its very close based on this limited testing.

AWG 8 wire with 50amp breaker

Not getting into fine print. Just keeping it simple. 8 AWG wire is rated to 40 Amps. Car charging considered continuous load which means 80% of that. You will be safe with 32A. Anything beyond that requires electrician or fine print review. I would rather be extra safe than sorry.
