Project Kics R40 Iconix vs Monolith T1/07

Just installed mine. But curious how easy is it to steal these? Because they all share the same key that can be bought from any of the tuning sites.

Pictures Model Y performance on TE37

Thinking of te37’s for my wife’s model Y. Problem is that it’s my wife’s car and she tends to like curbing her 21 inch Uberturbines. How much less likely is it to curb with 19’s with a square set of 275’s?. Is it gonna have enough sidewall to limit curbing? Should I add curb feelers? lol. Or...

    DIY Touchless Car Wash

When I’m lazy I do this at home. 1) you need a spotless water filter such as CR Spotless 2) you need a good pressure washer and foam cannon. The Active 2.0 pressure washer is good with the MTM cannon (MJCC and Griots Boss is probably even better) 3) set the CR spotless to just use non filtered...

Anyone have a 6MT car in addition to their Y?

Here’s my manual car. My wife drives the performance Y to work. I drive my electric M3 to work which makes me look forward to driving my V8 M3 or FJ on the weekends.

Picture of your Model Y - Right Now!

If you’re ever in SoCal, I got it at OC Yota Nights out here in the OC. There’s a vender there that brings a truck load of hotwheels and other diecast cars. However I’ve seen the same vender at other car shows such as the last Radwood here held at Honda HQ in Torrance.

Here’s my 2nd Model Y. It already has a front lip and rear wing… wonder if I should get MPP coilovers like my other Model Y.

Going crazy about Performance brakes? [Tesla using caliper covers on rear brakes of Y performance after supplier switch]

In the performance model, the rear brakes are used to help simulate a virtual LSD. This is supposed to improve grip around turns especially in track mode and drift mode. This does this by slowing down the spinning wheel (typically inside wheel in a turn) which then pushes power to the wheel with...

    Airlift/UAS air suspension for 3/Y

Do the wheels come with tires? Did they need to be redrilled? Hubcentric? Rubbing?

Anyone actually tested Unplugged vs MPP or Ohlins?

The i4 brakes felt much more controllable at the limit when taken out of B mode where there was little to no regen. But when using regen then transitioning to brakes at the limit seemed too aggressive.

Anyone actually tested Unplugged vs MPP or Ohlins?

I was there too Thursday AM last week. I agree the i4 does feel pretty good in the autocross. It feels a lot like my e90 M3 (which I drove that day), except the i4 does have more roll than what I’m used to. It also doesn’t feel as responsive in the steering. This is probably because of the...

Pic of your Model 3.......RIGHT NOW! [model 3 pictures thread]

Not my Model 3, but another good looking one I saw in the freeway while driving my Model Y. Wonder what wheels it has because they looked great 👍🏽.

Even though these are 19’s, they look great because of the offset. Any issues rubbing?

    PPF over matte CF

I got the hannshow covers so they aren’t just plastic caps

How well does the glass roof reflect heat?

I’ve got a 2018 Model 3 and a 2022 Performance Model Y. My Model 3 has the roof tinted and the model Y doesn’t. It feels like there is a difference between the two cars here in SoCal. So in a few weeks I’m getting the roof tinted on the Y.

    PPF over matte CF

After watching some CF repair videos… matte seems to just be the gloss but with no clear coat. So maybe better just to leave PPF off it. Then after a few years, sand it and polish it so it stays matte.
  20. P

    PPF over matte CF

I’d be curious if the matte PPF’d CF will match the non PPF’d matte CF rear lip.
  21. P

    PPF over matte CF

Just got matte carbon fiber mirror caps for my performance Y to match the matte rear spoiler. I want to cover the mirror caps with PPF. Will standard gloss PPF make the matte look more like gloss PPF? Or should I cover it in matte PPF? Which would match the non PPF’d rear spoiler the best...

Local aftermarket wheel vendors in OC, CA.

There’s EAS and there’s Evasive out here in SoCal. Also there’s Mod Bargains too.

    Enhanced AutoPilot (EAP) Has Returned!

I think it still works that way… someone will need to buy EAP to find out. My 2018 Mod3 had EAP and on the app upgrading to FSD is $6k. But on my ModYP it’s $12k for FSD.

    MountainPass Performance Comfort Coilovers

I don’t use mudflaps either. I just rely on the tesla PPF that they sell to protect most of the area that gets affected.

    Any reason to upgrade 2018 M3 for 2022 M3P?

I’ve got an original rwd Mod3 and MYP. 2018 long range rwd Mod3 lowered with Mountain Pass Performance Coilovers + PS4S tires and a 2022 MYP also lowered with Mountain Pass Performance Coilovers. I do like how fast the MYP is when I push it. However there aren’t many instances where I can do...

How are you dealing with parking lot curb-stops?

I always wondered which direction to turn the blinker. Do you turn it towards the spot signaling you’re going in? Or do you signal away from the spot since you need to pull forward and away to angle in more easily? I was in my other vehicle (an FJ cruiser with big blind spots) when I signaled...

    Auto frunk options

Now I remember. There is an actuator that pulls the latch to open it. So in order to close it all I can do is unhook the cable from the actuator so it latches. So does the emergency release cable allow you to open it if you remove remove the actuator cable?
  29. P

    Auto frunk options

Curious If this emergency release cable allows you to also latch the frunk closed. To get mine to close at the time I had to pull a spring off. Then it would latch close. I’m guessing if it is stuck open, one can pull the same spring to latch it closed and the emergency release cable will allow...

    Auto frunk options

I really do want to get the auto frunk for both my Tesla’s. But I’d want to know if there is a completely manual way to open and close the frunk. Years ago before all these auto frunk options came out I was on a road trip with my Model 3. I opened the frunk to take something out. However when...

    Tesla intrusion without phone key/card?

Ever since I saw the video about Bluetooth relays being used to get into the car I started using pin to drive and pin to open the glove box. But I wish it had a pin in general to unlock anything on the screen. I notice I can still open my garage door at home without a pin.

    Best Aggressive Wheel Offsets?

Are they hubcentric? Or did you need an adapter?

Blew something up in the rear!…

Lol I had a sleepless night because I thought I had a warranty scare this last weekend and my Y is lowered with coil overs. I was driving to Vegas. After supercharging in Baker at 1130pm I heard something rubbing and clanking on the drivers side every time I accelerated and stopped. I looked...

Picture of your Model Y - Right Now!

Facebook marketplace? How much? Too tempting, but I’ve got te37 sl’s on order from Evasive for my BMW M3. Was thinking of getting some sort of Volk Racing wheels on my Model Y AFTER my te37’s come in… lol

Picture of your Model Y - Right Now!

Just installing coil overs rejects my warranty claim lol. I’ve got spacers on my 2018 mod 3 with mountain pass coilovers as well. It now has about 70,000 miles with no issues from the wider/ lower stance. If the wheel bearings go then I’m fine getting new bearings at this mileage. As for...

    MountainPass Performance Comfort Coilovers

Zero issues on either car. Well, on the Mod3 I still keep gettting people asking if it’s a Performance 3.

    MountainPass Performance Comfort Coilovers

Finally got around to dialing in the ride height and suspension settings after getting them installed at EAS. After a month I’ll head over to Auto Union Tuning to get it aligned. Btw, my Mod 3 also has MPP Coilovers since when they first came out. Now it’s at 67k miles and still riding like new.

I snapped my strut mount bolt 😫

This was back in 2018 when I was installing one of the first MPP coilovers. And parts like this weren’t available though tesla back then.
